"Where is Yohana?" asked Iskander as he sat down on a chair at the head of the long table.
"Your Majesty, Miss Arlington was taking a stroll in the garden. I will call her right away," the maid answered. She turned to leave, but stopped in her tracks when she saw Yohana already standing at the dining room door.
Yohana walked inside and sat across from the King, the silence between them heavy but no longer as tense as before. "Where are the Alpha Princes, Your Majesty?" she inquired, noticing the unusually empty room.
"Angelo and Marvin already left for work early this morning. A few neighboring packs have been creating a ruckus, so they have gone to act as the mediators," Iskander explained. He then gestured to the waiting servants to begin serving the breakfast meals for them.
After some time, Yohana lowered her fork onto the edge of the porcelain plate, having finished her single omelette.
"Your Majesty, why did Alvaro truly give me to you?"
