The room had fallen into complete silence after Seraphina's revelation. The atmosphere inside was heavy yet cold.
Rain continued pouring heavily outside the mansion windows, violent droplets striking the glass while distant thunder occasionally echoed through the dark night. It was as if the skies were signalling about the dangers and dark storms that they were about to face in upcoming days.
Inside however, the atmosphere felt colder than the storm itself.
Alexander stood near the fireplace with one hand inside his pocket, his sharp gaze fixed entirely on Seraphina. The dim amber light from the lamps cast dangerous shadows across his face, making him look even more intimidating than usual.
Meanwhile Seraphina sat stiffly against the edge of the bed, both hands trembling faintly around the bowl Eleanora had forced her to hold.
