Chapter 10 - Chapter(10)

Episode(10): Death?

SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(10)

This was truly nonsense.

F*ck!

What were the odds, just as you discovered the opportunity to give your opponent a beating and level the playing field, then they went super s*iyan completely tossing over the entire board.

Sh*t.

Just give me a break already.

Can't this luck of mine stop acting up already?

At this point, maybe suicide was a better option than having these annoying back to back series of events occur one after the other.

Shu!

Fast! Way too fast!

Crouching low, Nagisa barely avoided the steel like claws that turned the tall stone behind him into slices like tofu.

This speed was way beyond before, if my perception hadn't fortunately broken through at the last moment I wouldn't even be able to tell how I died.

Nagisa rolled, but as soon as he got back to his feet there were claws slicing down at him.

Kh!

With a forceful twist, he slightly leaned back watching the sharp claws mere centimeters away from his face.

I need distance. At this close a range the risk of getting hit was too high!

His feet were light, ignoring the exhaustion he retreated with a swift leap but the wolf didn't let him get to far trailing after him.

Not gonna let me increase the distance huh?

Did it get smarter?

In the end, widening the distance became impossible and he could only use all his might to dodge and weave the claw attacks that came, his body twisting and tossing all over the place.

There were already several wounds all over his body.

It's shallow, but if they accumulate and I bleed too much the situation could get that much worse.

On the other hand, the wolf seemed to have been pumped full of chicken blood and its momentum kept getting stronger.

In the middle of the onslaught, a mistake occurred.

Nagisa who was running on fumes stumbled in a patch of mud, his posture just barely standing still.

However, even when he managed to stop his fall the wolf did not miss the chance and threw an attack at a speed he could not evade in his current state.

Pfft!

The claws carved through the flesh of his chest, the wound deep and spurting a copious amount of blood.

Gh!

Using the force of the attack, Nagisa rolled on his back to increase the distance.

Touching his chest he grimaced.

It was deep, but fortunately I reacted slightly so the wound while being quite deep wasn't too life threatening.

It was just that it hurt like hell.

The wolf also saw Nagisa running, now that it had landed a proper blow on the ant before it the wolf was filled with hot blood.

It howled to the sky, a deafening soul stirring howl.

???

What the-

Eyelids twitching furiously, Nagisa watched in stunned silence as the wolf's aura grew again.

Super S*iyan 2?!

As if in reply, the wolf arched its body and stepped out.

In an instant the wolf had already arrived before Nagisa.

He opened his eyes wide.

This was too much! Isn't this cheating!?

But, the speed increase didn't seem too exaggerated. At least, so long as he could anticipate the attack beforehand, avoiding seemed difficult but not impossible.

The rest was now up to his body to move along with his thoughts.

Saying so, he avoided the claw that pierced towards his chest and struck a blow at a weak point he could remember.

However he grimaced in pain the next moment.

Feeling his trembling leg and looking at the wolf that just barely lost its balance, he was shocked.

It's defenses increased?

Ha!

Now, this was just doing too much!

It was already levels above himself, faster speed even in his prime and stronger defenses. Nagisa honestly just wished to tie the opponent down until he could find a means of escape.

But-

[Hahahaha!]

He laughed, his eyes no swirling with madness.

[Today really isn't my day at all!]

His usually calm emotions spiraled in a frenzy and he no longer cared about dying.

Then-

[Let's get to killing each other, mutt!]

Lost all his previous worries for injuries, Nagisa became completely unrestrained.

Before, Nagisa would use all his efforts to just dodge the attacks.

Now, he didn't even care about trading injury just barely avoiding a deep wound every time before trading a blow.

Bang!

A kick shook the wolf's mind stupid.

The wolf quickly recovered its bearings, but even that single second of weakness was enough for the wild Nagisa to grasp.

He launched attacks targeting every weak point he saw, though the attacks were sure not to cause much damage it could always dwindle the opponents strength even if just a bit.

Having been struck in so many weak points all at once, the wolf completely froze.

I used the chance, with a leap I wrapped my arm around its head and spun tossing it over to the floor.

It was angry!

Why could the dinner give it a one sided thrashing?!

It tried to get up, but was met by a kick to the face sending it flying.

Tch! Barely felt any damage done at all.

And the wolf in the distance easily shook off the attack that should have caused a concussion and flashed forward with its annoying speed.

Whatever, come! I already know about your disgusting defense!

In less than a second, the wolf's claw was already swinging down.

Prepared, Nagisa used his arm to block intended to sacrifice it to land a blow. Blood spurted.

The wound wasn't deep enough to need an amputation but had he calculated incorrectly he would have lost an arm.

But there was no fear in Nagisa's eyes!

Then, with another motion he slammed his knee into the wolf's neck before falling.

Its reaction was as if choking on a fishbone and the wolf gasped desperately for air.

He planned to continue the fierce onslaught, but Nagisa had forgotten that this was initially a monster and monsters didn't use reason.

The wolf, saliva dripping from its mouth and unfocused eyes felt the danger approaching and disregarded the feeling of its throat being struck.

!!!!!

Nagisa felt warning bells go off in his head and hurriedly came to a stop while crossing his arms over his chest!

The next moment, the wolf's claws slashed almost reaching the bone, the force from its instant rush sending him crashing in to a rock.

Kgh!

The force of the crash caused me to cough blood.

It hurt!

My body that had been hanging on through sheer will now felt wilted from the crash.

Inside his body, it felt as if his organs were having a wolf party having no disregard for himself.

The wolf, seeing its prey unable to move slowly walked over and picked him up and tossed him up before slashing him again sending Nagisa crashing into the distance.

It licked its lips as if torturing the meat would make it tenderer.

Ah f*ck!

Of all things, to become dog chow. Who else could have such a miserable end?

I tried moving my body but my muscles screamed in pain, my bones creaked at the wounds I ignored continuously spurted blood with every movement.

Soon, he spat blood again.

The excessive blood loss was starting to take its toll and his face was becoming paler by the moment.

But-

F*ck this sh*t!

He was already dying anyway so why do it in a pathetic way?

Ignoring the screaming aches all over his body, Nagisa sprang up. It was just in time allowing him to avoid the wolf's rush.

Its claws tore through the wall with ease spreading dust and debris.

Seeing this no longer made Nagisa astonished.

Instead, he searched for a better spot to attack.

Striking normal acupoints could slow it down but it seemed to have little effect.

Where would be the best place to attack?

Suddenly, his eyes landed on the eyes of the wolf and he grinned.

Right, just because it has a tough hide doesn't mean vulnerable places are also strengthened.

The wolf had just pulled out its claw and turned to locate the prey, but the moment it turned its vision turned black.

Then what followed was pain.

Blood spurted, the deafening cry almost burst my ear drums.

Tearing out the eyeball, Nagisa leaned back avoiding the desperate attack that slashed through the air and rolled backwards to create more distance.

The blood from the wolf was still covering his face and had yet to dry making Nagisa's crazy smile look even more like a mad man.

Kehehe!

Pay back!

The injuries they had suffered were on totally different planes, even so he got pay back!

With the success of the attack, my adrenaline seemed to soar sky high and even with my weakening body I felt as if I could fight continuously for days and nights!

Fight! Fight! Fight!

It was funny, in his previous world he prided himself being different from the masses.

Even those trained athletes felt like toddlers in his eyes yet, here he was just another baby learning how to walk.

Here I am dying to a mere wolf.

If I had a sword, no-

Such thoughts were pointless now.

Meeting the wolf's gaze he took a breath and reignited his battle spirit.

Dying in battle is the pride of a warrior!

Surely, his ancestors would be proud of what he was about to do.

Gazing at the end of the huge cavern, there was a huge chasm and it seemed as deep if not deeper than the area with the stone platform.

After mapping out his plan, Nagisa dashed towards it.

The wolf, in its rage also ran without thinking. It just wanted to devour this piece of flesh and make it suffer!

Finally, just a few steps away from the huge fall Nagisa turned and halted his steps.

On the other hand, the wolf charged like an angry bull with no hesitation in its rush. It didn't even notice that there was a chasm!

There was no time to dodge the full speed rush of the wolf, instead Nagisa opened his arms wide grabbing the wolf by the fur in a bear hug and tapped his feet against the ground with all his remaining strength.

Coupled with the mad dash the wolf performed, this last jump had sealed their fates.

Before the wolf knew it, it was falling to its demise.

It's angry mind sobered up instantly.

But it was too late!

Laughing wildly, Nagisa increased the strength in his arms making sure the wolf would not get away!

The fall was long, however it wasn't too long.

On his way down, many thoughts flashed through his accelerated mind.

I don't want to die.

However, dying was the only path to victory in his current state. Just look, he couldn't even dodge the last charge of the wolf.

And, if I dodged, with the wolf's agility it might have been able to stop itself from fall into the chasm.

His thoughts soon came to an end.

With a squelching sound, both Nagisa and the wolf monster had been pierced through by a tall sharp rock.

Cough!

He spat blood.

The pain of being skewered was hard to bear, but he was comforted by the fact that the wolf was dying as well.

!!

When he glanced above, Nagisa saw the wolf still struggling to push himself off the sharp rock.

This guy, even pierced through the chest he's so f*cking persistent!

He wasn't about to let his sacrifice be in vain.

Gathering what remaining strength he had in his right arm, Nagisa grabbed the wolf's disgustingly long tongue and tugged hard.

A grotesque messy sight of blood spurting like a fountain unable to stop followed.

At the same time, Nagisa grabbed both ends of its mouth and tore them open with a crack.

Finally, he was satisfied as he saw the wolf stop struggling and it's limbs going limp.

At the same time, feeling his own death creeping closer he felt at peace.

Memories flashed by his mind, mostly of himself training.

But this was all the training was worth.

He slowly began to lose consciousness, his vision blurry.

What surprised him however was the wet sensation he felt at the corner of his eyes.

This was, tears?

But even if he cursed the heavens he would die here today.

Still, why?

Why him? Knowing now wouldn't change a thing, perhaps it was fate.

Yet, a quiet rage bubbled inside him the more he tried to reason.

No, perhaps he just wanted to live.

This wasn't anger, it was just a wish to live.

But, it was already too late.

His arms fell powerlessly to the side and his eyes shut for the last time as he took his last breath.

It was truly all too late.
