Chapter 13 - never change 1

A girl with amnesia is capable of falling in love a totally different way to the version of herself who recovers her memories.

It seems that knowledge is a burden or a curse, so how does one go back to the prefered version of one's self after learning something that does harm to their identity?

A saving grace is supposed to be a bridge between one's unprefered and one's ideal self, but allows for one to be saved, and could they save themselves?

Once upon a time there was a young man who wish he had amnesia, but despite the struggles of his life as a soldier, he smiled upon those who remained unaffected by the burdensome knowledge that managed to corrupt him instead.

There was a girl, a commanding officer who reached her rank through divinely talent, she is unparalleled by any hard worker, for she is a born/innate force of nature.

Her attitude to military responsibilities are from the perspective of a simple observer who is immersed in her life and with hope for a future, no matter how morbid the situation.

She doesn't seem to really notice her mortality, nor the suffering that happens to her, however when she sees the suffering of others, in particular the young man she is in command over of the unit of pawns he is apart of, she asks him if she can do anything to make him happy.

The thought of having to steal her resolve or heart to get prepared for an inevitable loss, as if his death sentence of being a pawn is a loss that is so impossible to her that she doesn't need to even think about preparing for such an outcome, that she sees death as not a separation, but a short/momentary excursion.

People keep dying, but she never grows sad or disappointed, because she didn't loose them in her mind.

This attitude is something the young man sees in her, that he struggles with his aim to become that way himself, and truly admires her sincerity and unwavering faith in what is right and what is wrong.

After a plan to achieve freedom, the girl who commands their unit escapes with them to the outside of the habitable terrain of the sole civilisation's boarders. Like cattle she lived all her life, like a slaughter house the young man's, but now they achieved their momentary escape, and can actually hope to aim to resist against the tyrannical regime.

They start out by living slowly in the snowy planes, and because of this accomplishment for freedom, the young man finds himself able to finally smile a lot more often than he usually did, especially around her.

They don't have to work right now, they're the ones with all the say of what to do, how to do it, and when to do it, so they just take it easy by building a base of operations instead of worrying about what those operations will be just yet.

As more time passes with this flow of peace uninterrupted, they realise that their will towards the mission wains the longer they remain in a jobless/responsibilitiless position.

So, for the sake of not neglecting their goal or their value/principle for a clear life, purpose, mission, and home, they decide that the self-imposed willingness to sacrifice the option to live eternally in peace, for in truth nothing but peace is boring, and to make these moments of downtime special like a holiday, they have to work towards something of importance.

They are young and patient for somethings, but impatient for others. Without the others in the unit noticing, every chance the two of them get they indulge in their selfishness to flirt, even when on duty.

The true moments of downtime where they get to be alone together, or during the weekends or the rare nighttime occasions.

The dream of being able to do more thing alone together, like going on dates instead of having to live in the wilderness.

With that being their motivation to decide their mission that feels important to them, the two in the middle of the night gaze up at the stars and yearn to be able to make that dream into a reality. However, regardless of whether or not it happens, they have the faith/hope in their hearts that anything is always possible, and that they don't even need it to come true to be happy right now. The two of them have each other, and even if they're all the way lost in the wilderness, for so long as they are together, anywhere's home.

The operations begin, and the young man over the course of living together with his commander which the two of them fell in love with each other (needless to say), also naturally developed the same unwavering, observational perspective/attitude that she had.

This is how it was done and what it looks like in contrast to how he was before:

Youth, it is the presence of treating life like a romcom or an adventure.

He used to be jaded by the instinctive association of cynicism and reality, but life for him has now become cartoonishly carefree and having the entire universe revolve around their shared story.

Her personality from the start was this cartoonish way, he wouldn't budge to this expression of herself that she shared with him at first, because he felt it to be impossible to see the world any other way than what he thought it was, but the more he spent time with her he began to see things her way and saw so much colour and shifting excitements.

His intentions to become his ideal self disappeared, because he was already in his ideal world, he doesn't have to be anything but a player/observer in it.

Their operations were successful innitially, but after gaining the police state's full attention, they responded with complete covert operations in adaptation to the revolution that was initially successful.

The girl gets knocked unconscious, but the young man carries her to a safe place and the two survive, the same cannot be said for the other revolutionaries/ex-soldiers.

She wakes up, and remembers her lost memories. Her personality before was possible because she was unburdened, but this, this is a burden, and so her identity and personality reverted back to how she was proper to her memory loss despite remembering the experiences of both lives/selves.

She looks at the young man with sympathy, knowing that he's involved in something far bigger than he could have ever expected, and decides for herself to continue the mission she had prior to memory loss instead of the decision/mission they shared together.

Their life stories no longer shared, is the real separation that the young man cannot accept, and decides to go and prioritise finding her while he does his duties for revolution operations simultaneously.

Years pass, and he prays every night thinking that somehow she would be able to know what he's thinking, or that maybe the room he's in is bugged by her and he can show that he's still thinking about her.

Suddenly, during one of the final operations to achieve freedom, with the sole civilation no longer in its former state of abundance as a police state, but still with its tyrannical government intact despite its failure to control/prevent outlaws, the city's capital while it's being raided by revolutionaries of trained soldiers from other sectors of slaughter houses like where the young man grew up all his life seeing comrades be sent on suicide missions in the outside world, a presence makes an appearance that changes the game entirely.

It's her, she teleported during the battle, and naturally he prioritises following her instead of continuing with the mission that can handle itself with the large numbers anyways.

"Wait! Where are you going?!", he shouts, before she teleports again to walk more away from him from around the corner.

Every time he turns a corner of the building, she tells him something cryptic related to how something in her past is inescapable for the both of them to be made inseparable, but not as the lovers they once were, but as rivals.

Her attitude is clearly proud and seductive however, so she plays with him instead of caring much for the outcome of whatever war the two of them are on different sides of.

The two sides he thought there were were only the police state and the revolutionaries, but this third party is tied to the void that brought about the world that they live in, this post-apocalypse.

She is an experiment, a mix between a human and something godlike. A demigod made into a puppet for the state, heavily survailled initially as a test, but they failed to care about her heroic morality to help the lives of the soldiers instead of just commanding from afar, she she became heavily involved in the places of her work that the government had very little care for, and neglected surveilling in those situations as if they were her distraction, but in truth they were the ones distracted by their own intentions.

Her successful escape came as a shock, but the assessment that she was just an ordinary girl by that point made them unworried to care about the one who personifies the dead old world.

She however reawakened her memories, and with it the old world, and with that being in direct competition for something far greater than the potential end of the world itself, she is now making progress on the mission on something that is objectively important.

Despite the objectivity of her mission's importance however, the end of the world is not something that the young man can allow, she he swears that he's going to stop her and bring back the old her.

"You understand why we continued with our duties instead of settling for living in peace together back when we aimed for this goal to free the nation, but you expect me to settle just because you've decided that you're finished?"

"No, we can have an adventurous life together, did we not want to go on dates? We can do that now! We won this war!"

"… that… would be nice."

"Then-"

"But it's not that simple, I can't slow down for any moment, this matters more than what we want, this matters more than the one of countless other wars this world has seen."

"Then tell me what it is. We can work together, as we did before."

"…you already are helping me, you just don't know it, and you will continue to be of use to me the longer you don't know."

"I don't understand."

"That's fine, just know this, that I am not the person you remember me for, not anymore. I am destined to be your enemy, I'm sorry, but this is goodbye."

"Wait! I don't want that! I love you!"

She solemnly begins to faze out of existences through a portal.

"I don't want to fight you! I will free you from this, we can have the life we want, just you watch!!"

She smiles softly but sadly towards their shared yearning for another life together, but remains hopeless towards getting that other life any other way, she must face the things she can't stop herself from being aware of that burden her and him from simply settling for having a different adventure of lesser importance.

She disappears.

After the battle and liberation of the multi-sector city nation (86 total sectors), he is confronted by those he lead to freedom as they expected him to be part of the new government, but he tells them he needs their help to go, to begin his new mission to uncover the truth about the love of his life.

They go into the archives of the regime's secret service, and find very little information about the girl, but in the classified section, videos of human experiments that she went through prior to her amnesia from the stress and her awakening to the awarenss of her true self's purpose that she didn't even have prior knowledge of as a human experiment.

It's horrifying, but it leaves with more questions than answers, however, it turns out in the information that there are likely other human settlements in the outside world, which they saw signs of as soldiers and during the experience he had with her and his comrades.

He decides that it is in his best interest to explore the world and find out more about how it ended up in its post-apocalyptic state, and with the help of his friends who helped overthrow the regime and establish a new government, to use the government resources to begin a 'new world' expedition after establishing stable reconstruction efforts.

Not caring about propaganda due to the fatigue it brought about to the spirits of the people during the regime's rule, they spread the news through the organicness of free press and establishing a new standard of presenting information to the public: the cultural standards.

By having information be used to inspire instead of manipulate the masses, the expectation of existence is that anything is possible and a cultural revolution to make dreams into a reality becomes the new norm/zeitguist.

In the midst of this trend, a romantic approach to innovation is reborn.

The young man (let's just give him a name finally, Adam, the girl he loves is named Eve), Adam, remains the same as after Eve had saved his soul.

His adventurous attitude is determined to not be separated from the love of his life, both being her and literally him living his own life, for even death will not do him part from this important mission to get the other life the two them promised they were going to spend together.

He sets off, and works with a team of scouts to map out the surrounding region quicker than ever before by reutilising the military equipment/pilotable-vehicles soldiers used against monsters and machines that prevented them from daring to attempt exploring uncharted regions of the world, and using their sensors to advance in topography data collection.

The scouts are well equipped unlike the conditions of the soldiers given death sentences for population control and -ism reasons (such as racism being the main reason why the soldiers were treated terribly and what made a person into a soldier in the first place).

The battles between the regime and the Revolution ultimately opened the eyes of the public to the lies of their government, that even though they were lucky enough to be of the right race to not be in the position of being exploited for a long time, it wasn't until exploitation happened to them regardless the moment the regime's focus was not on the pride of shared association, but the god complex to separate the associations between the elites and the commoners.

Now with all classes abolished (following a Switzerland, Denmark, and Sweden model of auditing all levels of government and having a department specifically for iterating the list of expectations of keeping the classification model of dangerous information for national security, as well as the model of how things are audited to make sure that the auditing department and any other departments cannot be exempt from true fraud prevented peer review), the expectation that individuals and 'the people' as an entity have their own sovereignty prioritised over the institution that governs them, shapes the destiny of their future not through the chaotic shifting of trends influencing the interests/votes on collective movement/decision-making, but through the clear guidance of grace that is made receptive to the people's perceptions based on the standard of an objective morality. To make sure that confusion and -isms do not distract away from the potential of a longer golden age, the new government set an example of the collective consciousness' inspiration in the market of free and competing ideas, the potential of noticing God's presence. There is nothing more freeing than faith in a once godless world.

To make sure that the presence of God or Grace is not monopolised by any institution like a religion or church that claims to the the face of reality's correct interpretation, the principle faith of the people and its new traditions are aimed to be developed based on real connections with God, instead of sentimentalities, and as such, a new spiritual research department is created.

Through it, new consciousness technologies are formed, and this has an impact on all fields of study, such as medicine, as the later discovery of psychedelics will become a big point of exploration.

Within the former regime's classified information, their aim to become gods themselves came already with the monopoly of attempted spiritual practices, most came from a place of delusion and -ism of trying to tie their essence to the human-made symbolism of their race's 'official' narrative/history, but some research had some legitimate discoveries that are worth continuing.

One discovery in particular got the attention of one of Adam's smartest friends, and he decides to share it with Adam in order to help him find this Eve girl he has always been talking about.

Adam goes over the information of the declassified document on "spiritual energy utilisation technology", and in the introduction it explains how the energy works.

And thus, magic is realised as a superhuman capability that anyone can use, it is no longer just something to be speculated about to monopolised by the state as a deeper concept. (Think of it like the trend of Chinese Kong fu taking the world by storm because of people like Bruce Lee. Martial arts action movies was everywhere, and many people signed up to westernised dojos. For this society, the trend of the discovery of magic is treated in the same way as Bruce Lee's importing of traditional Chinese martial arts.)

As it turns out, Eve comes from the rib of an ancient race, what the previous regime's identity wish it was. Despite being infallible, she was used for the creation of the artificial evolution of humanity, concentrated at the elite class of the nation, without any care for the psychology of how a real deal demigod of an entity would conduct itself.

The hubris of the regime meddled in the life of someone who mattered more than the world itself, and made her suffer a hellish fate despite being undeserving of it.

Although countless motivations have been shown in the archives of Eve's determination for freedom, revenge, love, hope, and despair, these judgements amounted to not the goal of punishing evil doers, but by creating the next step in the reality's evolution when accounting for the biggest picture.

After her awakening, she realised that everything is a simulation, that there are other dimensions outside of the gaze of gods, and that above all these different realities, there is only one true reality that consciousness will never hope to be able to break free unless if someone had the will to be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to speed up the inevitable regardless of growing pains.

She sees the whole timeline of such a destiny, the amount of suffering she will bring, even to those that she loves, but her plan is to break free of these simulations which she has the strength now to even jump between different dimensions/simulations, and organise revolutionary group of her own to conquer the heavens, even if the death of consciousness is a precursor to that collective, otherworldly freedom.

Adam will not allow this to happen, because even if it is an inevitable progression within reality to accend it, the suffering needed in order to get there is not worth it, ever.

Being trapped in a simulation forever is more preferable to a thousand years of living in a vivid hell, for the ability to judge will end up having an influence over the wills that transcend the simulation, and then the real reality will end up having the same suffering that we couldn't lead past in this limited existence.

An innovation competition is set up, leading to a national showcase of the greatest romantic works that will inspire the development of the people's culture and and future history.

With the continued development in spiritual research, there is a realisation that the assumption of God's presence had been wrong. It's the fact that whether there is a God or not, the real thing that leads to the honourable attitude of the people's receptivity to an objective morality is the following/love of a hero, for if God as a judge turns out to be not good, the sole principle of the COULD BE benevolence personified and physically fulfilled is the responsibility of an individual to mature into within one's own life. Everyone must become pure observers, like Adam and Eve, but the only way to wake them up from each of their unique jadedness, is to create a shared story, a zeitguist, that includes the presence of a saving grace just as Eve had done for Adam.

Adam will be representative of this savour who has been saved, by taking on the ultimate trail of having to confront the savour who now seeks to crucify him.

If he can remain true to himself despite the trail ahead, that will determine the fate of the world, then the inevitable evolution of consciousness outside of the simulation will amount to the creation of a literal heaven within the real reality, rather than the chaos of sin still having its influence as it had done in the simulated world(s).
