Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9: I HAVE LUXURY CARS, BUT WHERE ARE THE BEAUTIES?

"Are you up for the challenge, or are you too scared?" Tina, a fiercely competitive girl, taunted. Without missing a beat, she replied, "Bring it on! I'm definitely going to beat you next week." David chuckled, "Oh, I bet you're going to lose this one."

"Hmph, we'll see who loses," Tina huffed before returning to her seat. David also headed back to his desk.

As soon as David sat down, Liam leaned over with a mischievous grin, "Hey, how did it feel to smack the class leader's butt?" David knew Liam wouldn't stop pestering him, so he replied, "Honestly? It felt great. Her butt is really bouncy, super satisfying." Liam laughed, "Man, I'm jealous," before turning back to his book.

David, still curious about Tina's looks, decided it was a good time to check. "System, what's Tina's attractiveness score?" After a few seconds, the system responded, "Tina's attractiveness is 90. With makeup, it could increase by five points. Suggestion: pursue her by graduation for a selective task. Reward: 30 task points. Penalty: none."

Lost in thought, the bell rang, signaling the end of morning study, and he followed his classmates out.

In the past few days, David found himself unusually attentive in class. His homeroom teacher, who was also his English teacher, had a chat with him, encouraging him to maintain this focus for the upcoming final exam next week.

It was Friday, and after school, he quickly returned home. He read for a while, took a shower, and then received a call from his mom.

"There's a dinner at the factory tonight. Are you coming?" she asked. David thought about it and decided against it—too many people, and he might not get enough to eat. So, he ordered takeout instead. After eating, he played on his computer. Being Friday, he could stay up late. Around ten, his mom returned home, reeking of alcohol. David didn't disturb her, guessing she was stressed about work.

After gaming for a bit, he went to bed. The next morning, he woke up around seven and found a note from his mom saying she hadn't made breakfast and he should eat out. After getting ready, he locked up and walked to the neighborhood breakfast shop.

He ate five samosas and two fried dough sticks, paid, and was about to head home when the system chimed in:

"As a host of the Wealthy System, you must spend extravagantly."

Task: Spend 50 million in four hours.

Reward: 50 Wealth Points.

Penalty: Electric shock for half an hour.

Without hesitation, David dashed to the street corner, hailed a taxi, and told the driver, "To the International Auto City, please."

The International Auto City was the largest place in Xiang City and the entire Jiangnan Province for buying all kinds of cars, from small cars to luxury vehicles. Every city had one. After a thirty-minute drive, David arrived at the Auto City, paid the fare, and headed straight into the trade center.

Upon entering, he saw all sorts of small cars, but the first and second floors were dedicated to selling used cars, with prices mostly in the tens of thousands. He headed straight to the Third Floor, where luxury cars were sold from the third to the fifth floors.

As soon as he stepped onto the Third Floor, he was greeted by a display of luxury cars, with many beautiful car models standing beside them to attract customers. A saleswoman approached him and asked, "Hello, sir, how can I assist you today?" David sized up the saleswoman. She was pretty, but he would only rate her a 75.

David smiled and replied, "Miss, could you show me around?" "Of course, sir, please follow me," she said.

The saleswoman led David to a car and began to introduce it: "This is a Phaeton, priced between 700,000 to 2 million. It comes with..." Before she could finish, David interrupted her. He didn't have time to listen to her lengthy introduction. He only had four hours to spend 50 million, and just getting here had already taken over half an hour. Listening to slow explanations and going through the buying process would take at least two more hours, and he didn't have that kind of time.

He cut her off, "Miss, how about you show me that car over there?" David pointed to another display. The saleswoman followed his gaze and widened her eyes. Not many people were looking at that car, with only one model standing beside it, because it was so expensive.

She asked David, "Sir, are you sure you want that one?" David smiled at her and walked over. The saleswoman quickly followed.

David stood in front of the car, examining it closely. The silver-white color suited him. The saleswoman stood in front of the car and introduced it, "Sir, this is the jewel of our store, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. It's 14.67 feet long, with a power output of 1,001 horsepower. It's a limited edition with only 300 units worldwide, 20 in China, and only 5 in the entire South. Our boss went to great lengths to acquire it, and it's been on display here for over a year."

"Alright, just tell me the price," David said impatiently, finding the saleswoman a bit long-winded. She replied, "This Bugatti Veyron is priced at 45 million yuan." She looked at David, hoping he would buy it, as her commission would be in the millions.

After hearing the price, David nonchalantly said, "45 million, not bad. Here, make it an even 50 million," and handed his bank card to the saleswoman.

The saleswoman was overjoyed, her smile almost splitting her face. She thought, this guy is a golden goose! Who rounds up like that? But she was thrilled and rushed off to process the payment. Shortly after, she returned with a man in his forties, dressed in a white suit.

David walked up to the manager as the salesperson introduced him, "Sir, this is our manager." The manager extended his hand and introduced himself, "My last name is Gao," handing over a business card. "And yours?"

David smiled, accepted the card, and replied, "Hello, Mr. Gao, my last name is Lee."

"Mr. Lee, you've purchased our store's prized Bugatti Veyron. Is there anything we can assist you with?" Mr. Gao inquired.

David replied, "I don't need anything from you. Just hurry up with the paperwork; I have more shopping to do."

Mr. Gao's mouth twitched at David's straightforwardness. He had never met anyone who spoke like this. He hadn't heard of anyone like David in the city, so he assumed he must be the son of a wealthy family. Seeing David looked like a high school senior, Mr. Gao decided to curry favor. He pulled out a black card from his pocket and handed it to David.

Curious, David asked, "Mr. Gao, what's this?"

Mr. Gao explained with a smile, "This is a Dragon Manor membership card. With this card, you can dine there without any restrictions. Please accept it."

David was taken aback upon hearing it was a Dragon Manor card. Dragon Manor was known for its exclusive dining and entertainment, accessible only to members. Even the wealthiest couldn't enter without a membership, though he wasn't sure of the membership levels.

Not knowing why Mr. Gao had this card, David figured anyone who could own the store's prized Bugatti Veyron couldn't be ordinary. It's said that having more friends is always beneficial, so he accepted the card graciously.

After accepting it, he said to Mr. Gao, "Thank you, Mr. Gao. If I buy another car, I'll definitely come back here."

Mr. Gao beamed, "Thank you, Mr. Lee, for considering us next time."

Just then, a salesperson approached, saying the paperwork was complete, and the car was ready to be picked up. David was pleased to hear this, as it was done an hour ahead of schedule, taking just over an hour in total.

Mr. Gao asked, "Mr. Lee, would you like us to drive it home for you, or will you drive it yourself?"

David thought for a moment and said, "I have a driver's license, so I'll drive it myself." Though he didn't have a physical license, he knew the system could provide one, along with the driving skills, for just a few luxury points.

"Alright, please follow me," the salesperson said. David followed him to the car, where the salesperson said, "Mr. Lee, the invoice and all documents are inside the car. It's officially yours now."

With the salesperson's introduction, David carefully examined the car.

The Bugatti Veyron, known as the epitome of world-class supercars, is a marvel of engineering and luxury. Even the most basic model costs around $3.5 million in the Chinese market, with high-performance versions exceeding $5 million. The brand originated in Italy, is manufactured by a French company, and is part of the German Volkswagen Group. While "Veyron" is the official name, many car enthusiasts prefer calling it "Veyron" in Chinese. The Veyron series includes models like the Super Sport, Grand Sport, Vitesse, Hermes Special Edition, and Ceramic Special Edition, all equipped with an 8.0L W16 quad-turbocharged engine, with top speeds ranging from 253 to 270 mph.

Sitting inside, with envious eyes watching from outside, he couldn't help but feel the difference. And now, he really wanted to say, "I've got the car, now where's the girl?"
