"He was right you know," Lili commented a few minutes later as they walked through the halls of the Soma familia home, "The guild won't take this lying down. And if need be, they can even get the Ganesha Familia or the Loki Familia to enforce whatever they want."
As much as she liked…no loved what Caelan had done for her, as much as she relished seeing Zanis and the other drugged up alcoholic fools getting their just dues, it didn't change what it was.
"I hope you have a plan."
"They won't do shit," Caelan shrugged uncaringly, "For one the Soma Familia has made too many enemies. Besides, the Loki Familia won't make a move, and Ganesha when he hears about the shit that happened here won't either. And even if they did, so what?"
Caelan stopped walking, forcinfg her to pause as well and look at him confused, "….So what? A level five alone could kill tens of thousands of normal people in record time, even an army couldn't stop them. Between Loki Familia and Ganesha Family, they have like fifteen level five's, not to mention level six's!" she sputtered.
Left unsaid was the fact that Freya familia wouldn't do anything at all. They wouldn't care.
"Again, so? You think I'm scared of some them because they've got a higher level?" Caelan crossed his arms and looked down into her eyes, "Lili, I can travel into shadows themselves from the ability I got from the War Shadows. If the big familia's think they can make a move on my familia? I'll kill their gods and they'll be powerless to stop me. And then I'll slaughter them too so they can't join new familia's and get their powers back. I'll plunge this world into the ancient dark times where monsters ruled and before the gods came down, if any of them think they can do shit against you or Hestia or anyone else I care about."
Lili was struck still by his words, swallowing heavily as she took in exactly what he said.
His voice and gaze was completely serious. None of the glinting mischief usually in his eyes in that moment, no flirty grin quirked on his lips.
'He really would do it.' Lili realised. He would kill Loki, Ganesha, probably even Freya too. He'd plunge the world into a darkness and chaos not seen in a thousand years, if they threatened who or what he cared about.
For the first time, since he started boasting to Lili about what a villain he actually was. She well and truly believed him.
Yet….why? Why did it his words make her chest flutter? Why did it make her heart thunder in her breast? Why did her cheeks blaze? Why did it make her feel…so warm?

From there it didn't take them long to find Zanis' bedroom, it was simply at the top of the mansion, in the highest most lavishly decorated and room.
As expected of him.
And from there, Caelan just casually ripped out the floor boards and dragged out the large, heavy metallic safe.
"Alright, let me just get the key for it-" Lili began.
But was cut off by Caelan, "No need." he told her, before lifting the massive incredibly heavy safe up to face level and biting straight down on the lock system, Lili's eyes widening as he just tore straight through the thick metal plate with just his teeth.
Caelan casually chewed the metal between his teeth, before spitting it out, "Tastes like crap." he joked with a grin, before lowering the safe down and wrenching it open.
"Mr. Caelan truly is absurd…" she trailed off as the safe opened up, revealing piles upon piles upon piles of valis.
More valis than Lili had seen in her entire life.
Caelan whistled, "Damn, this will be useful." he grinned, eyes glinting with greed.
Lili imagined her gaze was much the same.
She quickly began counting it out, and to her disbelief, she quickly counted out over a hundred million valis.
Then a hundred and fifty million.
In total, it came to:
179,179,087 Valis.
"…Just shy of one hundred and eighty million…" Lili gaped at the absurd amount of money Zanis had connected through his years of ruling at the top of the Soma Familia and making the hundreds of members hit a quota of earnings to get the Soma wine.
"And with the amount I've gotten, that means our familia will have over two hundred million valis." Caelan pointed out.
It was such a massive number, Lili felt a little faint.
There was something else though stashed at the back of the safe, "What's this?" Lili leaned over and grabbed it, pulling it out and holding it up.
It looked like some odd spherical ball. Made of glinting golden criss crossing metal, with some creepy looking eye thing in the middle, "Is this some sort of jewelry? Zanis really had awful taste."
She didn't notice Caelan's eyes widened minutely, before he forced a laugh, "Could use it as a paper weight I suppose?" he joked, picking it from her grasp, before casually tossing it over his shoulder, where it sunk into his shadow and disappeared.
Lili blinked, "…You can do that to!?" she gaped.
"Yeah, though it's a pain to get them back out right now, so you're way more reliable for carrying my shit." he said, "Though considering we don't have your bag with us and the sheer amount of valis…probably gonna need to stuff it all in my shadow for now."

"NO DADDY!" Zanis, probably laying in the fetal position, face turned to pulped meat and stinking of piss, shit and vomit from where he soiled himself.
