[Sasha]
I'm Sasha, an S-class adventurer who is also called the Wind Fang of the Central Region. My specialty is inflitration, monster subjugation, and even bounty hunting. I can take an any opponents as long as I put my mind into it. I'm usually a lone adventurer and I avoid forming parties since I believe being alone is more efficient.
I have 3 clients for this one job. One is no other than our guild master, a researcher and a noble. So if I complete this, it will put me closer to my goal on retiring peacefully. However, this is hard. My noble client's wife who I was tasked to save has already been sacrificed by those werewolves.
As for the other 2, the researcher tasked me to map the the forest of Zen and note what kind of monsters live here. And the last was to determine the state of the Infinite Dungeon, and I ended up seeing the Eastern Overlord.
Who would have thought he has ascended to the overworld? He may seem frightening but I don't sense any malice from him. Also, he didn't seem to be Sagus.
When I told my opinion to the Guild Master she yells in frustration. "Ugh! Then it's quite a waste. If you think he is reasonable then you should have gave him an Eye of Calling. I don't think we will have that opportunity again?!"
Don't tell me the Guild Master intends to talk to the Eastern Overlord. Does she have any idea who she will be talking to?
I sigh, "guild master, the Eastern Overlord is not your average joe that you can just hit up. You can't even reply to your suitors."
"Shut up! This and that are different. Just do your job or you won't get any reward."
Tsk, this damn guild master. How annoying! Next time she calls me, I'll be complaining.
When I returned to the forest after a week, I got kidnapped and sent to that village. I witnessed everything how the Eastern Overlord rose and saved that werewolf village. That's where I found a random werewolf from that village. I gave him the Eye of Calling and then disappeared.
I hope that person will give it to the Eastern Overlord.
Also, conveniently while mapping the area I found the wife of the noble. I escorted her until we reached the Fort of Hertfil which is now in ruins. Thankfully, we met a kind girl named Anna who has been serving some stew. We were glad since it was free and she satisfied our stomachs.
About a few weeks passed and I arrived on the country of Semrad which is as large as a giant city in the Central Region of the continent of groundwell. It's a well-developed country which is known for trading and commerce. Almost all merchants travelling throughout the continent pass through here.
Crime rates here are low since everyone seems well-off. This country is ruled by a merchant royalty who controls a lot of businesses. I recieved clients from the higher ups couples of times and even invited to the palace, the pay is good, which why I'm only one last quest before retirement.
I returned the wife to the noble and got handsomely rewarded, as well as the details of the forest and the monsters to a researcher.
Afterwards, I head into the adventurer's guild. It's somewhere close to the borders of the country. Treading the lobby, I notice there isn't much adventurers.
Regardless, I head upstairs and into the guild master's office. Knocking, she gives me entrance.
Before me is the guild master, in which she never gave her name before but we all call her guild master. She is a tall and mature woman with black hair. She has a seductive beauty with her voluptuous chests and puckered lips. She smokes a pipe with one hand with her legs resting on her table.
To my surprise, the guild master chuckles quietly then it turns louder until it becomes a big laugh. "Sasha, I knew you were reliable! It seems it has now turned yellow and there is a big chance the one possessing the Eye of calling is the Eastern Overlord."
"Yeah, yeah." I say with an unmotivated attitude. I can't believe she is serious in talking with the Eastern Overlord.
"Come on, be excited a little. You are this close for your retirement. You just need one last job."
"You have to be joking. I'm retiring after I take my reward."
The guild master is in a good mood, she just smiles in silence, hoping I will understand.
This wench, don't tell me that she has no plans in paying me until I do this one last job.
"Guild master, I'm sick of this place. Don't make me repeat myself." I say with an irritated voice.
And I can't believe it that the guild master would resort to something petty like begging until I give in. "Please, please, Sasha, just this once and I'll even add some bonus." She says with her arms in praying gesture with those begging eyes.
I facepalm annoyed with a sigh, "fine, if you find me a good house after this then it's a deal."
The guild master erupts in joy while standing up, "alright! Hahaha, I know I can count on you Sasha."
I can't help but sneer. "If you give me another job after this, I'll be kicking your ass."
"Come on, drop that attitude. I meant what I said once this is over, it's all over."
The guild master returns to her seat and continues huffing with her pipe.
"Anyway, what am I going to do? I hope this isn't dangerous right?"
"This is just a simple delivery."
A simple delivery, huh? I was a little bit worried. Usually, declaring that it's your final job can be an omen.
"Then it's fine--"
"To the Eastern Overlord!" The guild master interjects.
I slam her table from frustration, "are you insane?!"
"No, no, he and I had a deal. I will give him some information while I ask him a little favor."
A little favor, huh? Seeing how weird, she is I bet it's something crazy. The previous Eastern Overlord used to burn villages and cities unto the ground like they were nothing according to the stories. If we offend him somehow, this city might not see the next morning.
I sigh from worry.
The only thing I hope of her is that it isn't too demanding from the Eastern Overlord.
"And, it's something simple right?"
"Yeah, I just asked him to intercept the devil army on the west."
I am about to yell at her again but what she said baffles me. "De-devil what?"
The guild master nods, usually she looks like she is screwing around but her face is now serious. "Devils ranging into hundred thousands are marching from the western region of the continent."
"Where are they heading?"
"Who knows. All we know is that the information came from the kingdom of Aren from the North, the General Monster is a worldly threat that endangers our existence. The northern countries demands to let their army to station on the central region but our region refuses to do so."
I clench my fists from worry. "What is our leaders doing?"
I didn't even notice the King is trying something against this problem. There are no signs that he is assembling his knights or they are fortifying their defenses.
"Well, I can't blame King Halmin. The northerners are clever and ruthless. This information could be just a trap from the northerns. King Halmin will decide what to do once their scout or a reliable information arrives. I mean, it's already quite weird how the northerners were informed before us from the centrals."
This is making me worry. The only reason why I'm doing this is for my sister. If something happens to her then this is pointless.
"If the devil army is heading in this place then we should leave her as soon as we can. Even if it's from the north, there is the possibility that they ain't lying."
The southerners and centrals never trusted the north. The north are imperialists which are trying to expand eastward. The only thing that discourages the north to go south is that the southern region might take action and form an alliance with the central region.
"That's why calm down for a second. Regardless, we confirmed that there is a new Eastern Overlord and he is reasonable. You can even say I like him."
Hearing what she said, I sneer in disgust. "Your taste in men is scary."
She stands up forcing an annoyed look. "Sh-shut up. Anyway, listen for a second. If we can have him on our side we won't have to be afraid on threats like that. We actually talked and he doesn't mind doing it as long as we keep his existence a secret. And these..." She pats a pile of books and maps.
"These are?"
"Some information that he wants, and you are going to deliver it to him."
"Huh???"
I end up carrying a large bag for these books. I will forever curse the guild master for doing this to me. I can't believe that he wants me to deliver these books straight to the Eastern Overlord. How frustrating!
She even said, "the Eastern Overlord offered to have a messenger retrieve the documents but I refused and told him that you will send them instead. That's because I want you to meet this Eastern Overlord and see what he looks like, if possible memorize every description of his face. He might just be my type."
From annoyance, I kick a wall causing it to crumble. "Curse you guild master! I hope you will die single and alone!"
Regardless, what did she even talk with the Eastern Overlord?

[Verni]
Back inside the infinite dungeon...
A strange woman just talked to me through the Eye of the Calling.
Who is she and why does she thinks I'm the Eastern Overlord?
I ask Ren, "will they find my location if I respond to this stone?"
"Whether you respond or not, it won't make a difference. The two stones are magically connected across space so they are bound forever."
I see, so it doesn't work like a cell phone, huh? Since I can only talk to the other end with this stone.
Regardless, judging her voice she seems the jolly type of woman. Probably her age is around her late 20s.
I sigh and respond, "and? What is your business?"
"So you're admitting, huh? Looks like I have finally talked to the Eastern Overlord. Yehey."
"I never said I was. I just wanted to ask what is your purpose on doing this and why do you assume I'm the Eastern Overlord?"
"It's simple. One of my adventurers just told me so."
Adventurers? Recalling everything, I erased the memories of all adventurers. The ones who I only spared was that cage. Probably, someone inside it was an adventurer who escaped.
To my surprise, Levia appears behind me which takes me by surprise. "My lord, give me the call and I'll eliminate this person."
"Le-Levia? You are there?"
She nods, "I'm always right beside you. I won't leave your side again."
"... I see."
Ren is thinking, then she says, "Verni, I suggest you listen to this woman's proposal. As things are now we need an outsider to relay us some information. We probably can't do it alone."
I nod and agree with her. I then talk to the Eye of the Calling. "Alright, let's cut to the chase. What do you want?"
"I need a support. I sent most of my adventurers to the west to intercept the devil army approaching."
"Devil army?"
"According to the northerners, someone summoned Cerberus."
"Ce-cerberus?" It's a greek mythology from earth. It's a giant three headed demonic mutt, and it's been summoned? Ren filled me with the details and that thing is as strong as three combined Mythical Class General Monster.
Remembering my time in the dungeon, if this is thrice as powerful as the general monster I came across then I have a general idea how powerful this thing is!
