The human government sent a few associates trying to map out all the Nocturnals zones. They were evicted well before they were able to do a head count. They discovered that their equipment had failed they can't recall where the Nocturnals lived. There was a public vote and everyone wanted to keep their land private. The government wasn't pleased but they tried covertly. They mapped alien territory but not Nocturnal. There is always a vampire on site who happily wipes their memories. While the vampires are comfortable using hypnosis I am not. The werewolves are understanding so they don't ask me to do it. Since my first try terrified me. They sensed my fear and requests others to do it. And I remember the day they yelled Soren for forcing me to do it. He had to show remorse as he apologized. I had forgiven him but I still felt like a bad guy. Roland looked at me from head to toe. Kiska shook his head as Serena stared with a serious expression. As though she was calculating exactly how she was going to counter Roland. After a few minutes if intense staring he spoke.
He explained his assessment, "You don't have the traits of a bad guy. You behave more like a tired mom raising a dozen kids with different mindset and altered discipline. Half the time you appear very concerned. Some of the time you look like you are less likely to be surprised. The rest of the time you seem proud of us. You had no choice the first time you used hypnosis. It was those rogue ones gave us a bad name. You were defending yourself." I shook with terror, "I had never killed anyone before. As I worked as an officer of the law I was told by the many killers I caught that the first time is the hardest and it becomes easy. I don't want to hurt anyone. I just want make sure everyone is safe." I wanted to cry till my eyes melt. Everyone felt my fear. The Frore vampires stepped forward and Oleg told them not to remove the last shred of innocence I had left. They understood the moment they lost theirs. They stared empathetically.
None spoke till Oleg finally had enough. He dug up a memory of the twins on the trampoline and my childhood fighting the washing machine for not ironing the clothes. My tiny self yelling at it for making trouble for mom when she was tired and clearly overworked. I would stroke mom's arm and she would sit still looking vulnerable. I yelled at it about how unappreciative and entitled it was. How I had hit it with my crutches and one occasion smashed my crutches. Mom was sitting next to me looking puzzled. Batou would be laughing hysterically as I used what I believed was bad words hoping it would come to it's senses and do exactly what it is supposed to do. Wash, dry press and fold. In my defense I didn't know all it did was wash and dry. I only found out when I found the instruction manual. I was red faced and Batou gave me a hug. He chastised mom for playing along. Mom mentioned no one had defended mom so fiercely like me so she was enjoying it. Besides my childhood was something she was hoping would interesting. I remember ordering enough food for lunch and dinner. Uncle J came over and I named him the clone. He laughed as he listened to me. He liked it so much he encouraged me to call him that. Mom asked me not to. He would wave it off reminder of the washing machine. They would laugh about it.
After I was properly distracted we had dinner. We made sure there was no whiteout in the forecast before we went out for snowball fighting again. This time the Frore vampires joined us. They had never done anything like this before and everyone had fun. We made snowmen and made snow angels. We slid down the snow and swam in the ink black waters. Everyone was happy and I was delighted. They felt my excitement and smiled back at me. I don't like to talk about the past. They just need to ask to find out more. The Frore vampires wanted to see the rogue werewolf. Oleg snarled and they explained they wanted to make sure if anyone asks me to use hypnosis they can tell them to get a life. The werewolves bit down as I showed them my memory. I was in the RV. It was night we were having dinner when I sensed the werewolf heading in this direction. I warned the others and they respectfully went inside. I waited for it to show up. When I did I realized that I had no plan whatsoever. I tried to focus but my mind was empty. I heard Irene whisper to Sonja that if I can convince humans then I can convince him also.
So I looked him in the eye and asked him nicely to change back. He froze for a moment and transformed back to his human form. He licked his lips. "You are a hybrid. You can control to werewolves like Cain can." I knew if he escaped then he would tell others so I quickly used my silver necklace on him but he managed to pull it out and heal himself. I knew I was doomed. Sonja poked her head out of the window. She said, "Tell him to break his own neck" I said immediately requested that he do that. He fought hard against my order. He struggled to lower his hands as they raise themselves towards his head. He managed to lower his hand an inch but it still kept reaching for his head. But he did what he could to stop it but his hand reached his neck. I heard a sharp snap. He fell dead and the residents of the RV came out and burned his body. As they burned the body I knew my life was different. I felt like I lost someone. It hit me like a freight train that I am now a killer. I am not innocent any more. I should be arrested and tried as a criminal. So the time I spent in the prison was justified. The vampires kicked me out of the memory and told me to forgive myself since I had just defended myself from the rogue ones. They are all very unpredictable and unstable.
Oleg gave them an angry look as I started crying again. I had felt so guilty. The others gave them the death stare before deciding to elsewhere. They decided Hawaii is the place to be. I reminded them the blistering sun would have the vampires indoors. Injecting themselves too much will have negative effects. The vampires promised to watch over me during the night and werewolves can watch me during the daytime. I convinced the Frore vampires to let a few alien species move in as a cover so the humans won't bother them. They invited the Atra. A crystal like alien species and they lived in perfect harmony. Keeping my presence a secret. We flew to Hawaii and the brothers and sisters there welcomed me with open arms. They were pleased to see me and requested that I refrain from biting anyone. He will arrange my blood bags. I had to handover a sample of my venom to be sure I am sterile. Keola told them to burn the venom since he has first hand experience. They poured vodka into the cup and set it on fire. As the cup slowly disintegrated I saw that the flame was a pale purple. Keola happily took me to his house where his mom welcomed all of us like family.
The vampires were given rooms with the windows painted black. The werewolves took me parties and we rode ATVs along the beach. At night we partied like it was the never going to end. That was the first week. The next we spent practicing shooting. Wrestling and breath holding competitions and many more. We kept ourselves in shape. The competition was good practice. I even connected with them so they can practice hunting. It was overwhelming. So I had to turn the dial down to one. I started with echolocation. The werewolf clan in Hawaii watched us with amazement. They watched as they dodged everything blindfolded. They asked if this was some sort of elite training. They were told this for the Alpha guards only. They are training to fight as a unit. This is done for the empress or emperor's personal guards. Since trouble comes in unsuspecting forms. The locals were impressed as they watched them blindfold themselves to dodge tennis balls. All of a sudden they switched to dodging bullets. I was upset they used live rounds. I told them to use rubber bullets first but my idea fell on deaf ears.
I asked a question. What if someone attacked me while we are linked. They turned around and faced me for a second. They split into groups and one tried to nab me while the other side pretended to be busy before they came to my defense. It was a spectacle. The locals were puzzled. A few asked Roland what training this was. He told them it is special forces training. A few were from special forces and they had never seen training like this. Everyone moving like a single body. No hesitation. No fear and no nonsense. Roland muttered, "No waste either Amigos" they practiced till they could do it with ease. It was my turn to practice. I spend hours underwater trying to practice how long I can hold my breath. I noticed sharks and made sure to find a way to block them so they won't harass me. I would walk underwater and tried free diving. I tried snorkeling and surfing. I wanted to see how cats I can be. So I told Roland to time how long it would take me to go around the island. He stared at me like I had lost my marbles. He decided to up the ante a little. He told me to do a hundred forward and a hundred backwards. I grinned as we shook hands. Roland told the locals to stay indoors since they are likely to experience a dust storm.
They had their nose pressed against the window watching as I ran around the coastline. Forward a hundred times and backwards a hundred times. Then I zipped through the city and through the mountains. The first time I made to memorize the path. So the next few times it was easier. Then I took a detour and memorized it too. I used echolocation and x-ray vision to make sure I didn't end up with a twisted ankle. Next training was X-ray vision. This earned a few whistles. The werewolves can see body heat and they can hear heartbeats. But they can't see through walls. They saw the blood vessels going to and from the heart and obviously the heart. I adjusted it so they can see the person again. Roland had a dirty thought and everyone smacked on the back of his head. He said it was well deserved smack but had he acquired this ability. Serena finished the sentence, "You would be in jail buddy" he didn't argue.
I mentioned that I used it during the zombie apocalypse after the soldiers murdered my mom. I had to use it so we could get to an underground secret room to hide while they tried to hunt. I cooked dinner in pitch black. I only realised it when the kids were huddled together holding tiny flashlights. I switched on the lights and everyone ate. I stood watching for trouble. I was concerned they would find us. The hidden room had cameras which showed what was happening on the outside but I used x-ray vision to watch the soldiers as they searched for me. When they left I dissolved into tears. The kids hugged me and comforted me. I adopted the twins and raised them to be model citizens. Roland reminded me that I taught them to buy clothes that don't require ironing. It is a very serious violation by military standards. I asked how it was by his standards. He gave me a thumbs up. He used to have a lot on his plate. Clothes that don't need ironing is exactly what he would get too. But the others had mixed feelings. But overall they accepted it was a very good idea if it was the apocalypse. Generally ironing is standard household chore. I told them all to get a life. They happily laughed it off and admired the view.
Roland rented a catamaran and I had to use X-ray vision in the ocean. It took a few minutes to adjust so I could see everything from corals to the different types of fishes, turtles and sharks. He found out that echolocation works differently underwater. I put on a blindfold and jumped in to water. I swam with great white sharks and I noticed something I never knew I had. I sensed the small electrical discharge every fish made. It took me a few minutes to find their location. I managed to find a few humans who were cage diving. I thought it was a safe bet to get as far from here as possible since the chum in the water would make the sharks go crazy. So I dove down till I wasn't visible and I made myself invisible. I quietly swam up and sensed where Roland was before speed swimming to him. I took off the sash before I got up. He was pleased I had such great time with turtles. His smile vanished when I showed him who I swam with. He thought I was nuts. He told everyone and Oleg actually gave me a standing ovation. He was amazed I had the guts to do it. He wouldn't dare swim like that. He said I was more daredevil than him.
