In Drew's Dimension, Tokyo, Japan,
Roaring and screaming echoes across the city as Drew races across the city, capturing tiger-like cryptids.
"Saturday, how many Blood Tigers are left?" Drew asked flying to the next section of the city.
"You don't want the answer to that. They keep replicating thanks to the blood moon's lunar rays."
Drew groans. "How much longer until the sun rises?" she asks.
"Five hours."
"Great… anything else I might want to know?" Drew said sarcastically."
"Your containment field is failing to hold the Blood tigers. And I'm picking up a strange temporal energy reading coming from your suit."
"The containment field is … wait, what do you m- Drew suddenly disappears into thin air and reappears in a desolate city. "-ean? What the… how is this possible?"
Suddenly, the ground shakes as a giant robot peeks around a building. "O-kay, wasn't expecting that." Drew thought as she looked up in awe. The robot then shines a bright, red spotlight on her. "Uh oh," Drew said before taking off in the opposite direction.
Immediately, the robot chased after her and tried swatting her down. Skillfully maneuvering and dodging its attempts, Drew made her way into an open window on a skyscraper. The robot stops and punches into the building, hitting Drew through the building.
Crashing through another building's window, she lies there in pain. "Ow, that hurt." She thinks before falling unconscious.
In Drew's Lab, Medical Bay,
Drew wakes on the table and quickly rises.
"Woah, easy… Drew. Relax… you're okay… and safe." Talia said as she laid Drew back down.
"Talia, what are you doing …here?" Drew asked, dazed.
"Well, Saturday called and said you suddenly disappeared. So, we all came running."
"We?"
"Dante and Avery are gathering the Blood Tigers while Megra and Cindy are at the Tower, scanning the planet for the temporal energy signature that sent you to the future."
"The Future!? That was the future!?"
Talia nodded. "Yep, the year 2030 to be exact. And from what Dante told me, Giant Robots have taken control of the planet. And by looks of your suit, they can do some real damage."
"Right, I remember now. One of those giant bots punched me into a building. I need to get back there." Drew said.
"Don't worry, we had a feeling that you wanted to go back to that time and investigate what happened. That's why we asked Mai to modify one of Dante's Stealth Jets to time travel. That way we can take a team, and you won't have to do it alone." Talia said.
Drew looked at Talia speechless.
Two days later, On the Tower's Roof,
Drew and the others are waiting for Dante, Avery, and Mai to show up with the modified Stealth Jet. Suddenly, a large silver aircraft appeared from a dimensional portal. It then hovers down and opens the bay door, revealing Avery in an outfit like Dante's hero suit. "Shall we get going?" she said, walking down the ramp.
"Where did you get this plane?" Drew said, shocked as the others stepped onto the ramp.
"It was left to Dante when he and Gwen inherited the Maiju's Legacy."
"Speaking of, where is Gwen? I haven't seen her in a while. Is she and Dante still… you know?"
"Yes and No. We got them to reconcile with one another, but for some reason, they still won't work together. I mean they'll get along when it comes to Emi's, Celica's, or Avi's sake. But other than that, good luck." Avery said as she and Drew walked up the ramp.
Walking into the cockpit, Drew was shocked and excited by the advanced technology on the ship.
"Come on, Drew, we should take our seats," Avery said.
"Okay," Drew said, following Avery. "So… what's powering this ship?" Drew asked.
"It's being powered by a modified Atlantean power core," Dante answered.
"Modified Atlantean Power core? Should we be worried?" Talia asked.
"Why?" Drew said.
"Well, Atlantean tech, across the Omniverse, reacts to Void energy in highly destructive ways. But yeah, everything is fine. This Power core was made by us personally. We just used the Atlantean tech as a base." Avery said as she took her seat.
Flying away from the Tower, the silver aircraft generated a powerful barrier as it gained speed. Breaking through the temporal barrier, Dante increases the aircraft's speed. Suddenly, the aircraft exits out of a portal into the desolate future Drew was summoned to.
"Wow, that was quick." Drew thought as they flew the aircraft to a large open area.
"Dante," Avery said.
"Yeah, I feel it too," Dante said before he activated the cloaking mode.
Suddenly, a fireball zoomed past the ship, followed by a squadron of robots.
"Who was that?" Cindy asked.
"Please, let me be wrong." Dante thought as he put the ship on autopilot. He then gets up from his seat and rushes to the bay door. Jumping out the door, Dante reverts to his Primordial form and flies after the fireball.
"Where is he going?" Megra asked.
"That fireball seemed familiar, so he went to check it."
"What?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Talia said.
Avery sighed. "Okay, I'll explain. But promise me… none of you will get mad." Avery said.
Flying up into the upper atmosphere, the fireball slowly dissipated, revealing a thirteen-year-old girl. As she begins to freefall, she quickly ignites and flies back down to the robots, destroying them with ease.
"Woo! I am good. Headed back to the To…
"Young Lady," Dante said as he appeared in front of her.
"DAD!" the girl said stopping.
"Exia, what are you doing here? Why aren't you back in OriginVerse with your uncle and aunt?"
"Because, Dad, I believe I should get a chance to see my home universe at least once in my Immortal life. Like seriously, I haven't even met my other siblings."
"And you chose to come to a desolate future."
"No! Of course not… I flew here because the people seemed like they needed help. I mean it's not like you or Momma Avery were going to help."
"And what's that supposed to mean?" Dante said.
"Uh, I didn't mean anything by it," Exia said, knowing she misspoke.
"Yea, Okay," Dante said, with a discerning tone. He then grunted. "Come here, give me a hug," Dante said. Smiling, Exia happily gave Dante a hug. Suddenly, the silver aircraft showed up beside them. "Let's go greet the others."
"Alright,"
Back in the past, Drew's Parent's house,
Mandi and June walk up to the front door and ring the doorbell. Opening the door, Drew's sister looked disappointed.
"Drew isn't here," she said quickly.
"Huh, where is she?" Mandi said.
"I don't know. Try her lab. She spends most of the time down there anyway. Talking to her boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Mandi and June asked. "Is Dante in town?" they both thought.
"Uh, you don't think Drew would mind it if we checked for her in her lab… Right?" June said.
"Sure, come in. You can use the kitchen entrance. I was just about to go down and play with Naala." Her sister said.
Back to the Desolate Future, Arkansas, Columbia, The Tower's ruined remains,
Dante hovers the jet over the roof, allowing everyone off. "I'll meet y'all inside after I take this to the Hangar. Be careful." He said over the comms.
"Don't worry… We got this." Exia says as she stretches upward.
"Xia, stay alert. Whatever destroyed this place might be still here." Avery said.
"Strange, I thought the Towers were designed to be indestructible," Cindy asked.
"Well, according to my readings, the Tower wasn't destroyed by any conventional weapon, but by Quantum Energy," Drew said, looking at her gauntlet.
"Quantum Energy? You don't think you were attacked…do you?" Talia asked.
Drew shook her head. "I don't have any enemies capable of using Quantum Energy."
"Let's continue this conversation inside," Avery said before jumping into a hole.
"Right behind you, Momma Avery," Exia said, following Avery. Then, Megra followed her with Cindy right behind. Talia then walked over to the hole.
"You coming?" Talia said before jumping down the hole.
Not hesitating, Drew followed. Landing on the ground floor, Drew was shocked to see how destroyed the Tower was on the inside. "Burn marks?"
"No, explosion marks. You can tell by the shockwave patterns and the shade of marks left behind. They're a little lighter than fire marks." Talia said.
"Woah," Drew thought, realizing something new.
"Hey, Drew, do you think Saturday, Temple, and Tower are still working?" Avery asked.
"Yeah, they should be, since they're the most advanced AI in the world," Drew said as she activated her holo-gauntlet.
"Lady Drew, is that you? Why am I picking your signal up on Earth? I thought you were with the others celebrating Amalia's birthday in the ISL's Universe." Saturday said, confused.
"What?" Drew said, looking at Avery shocked.
"I'll tell you later," Avery whispered.
"Oh right, you're Drew and the others from the past. I have records of this expedition. What do you want to know?"
"Uh, what happened here, and how I can stop this from happening?" Drew asked.
"Unfortunately, you can't stop this from happening due to it being a detrimental event to this dimension. Luckily, you and the others can help restore the planet like it used to be." Saturday said.
"Okay, but what happened here?"
"Doom broke into this dimension and released Cyber Dante and Mystic Dante from their prisons and fused with them. And using their powers reawakened some kind of ancient giant robots and took over the world."
They all grunted and groaned. "Seriously, those two again. I knew giving them to the United Nations's Prison was a bad idea. Well, can't get them back now." Drew thought.
"What about Auraria? Where's the queen of the Metas? There's no way she would allow Doom to take over." Cindy asked.
"Sorry, I can't tell you that since she was involved in a major event in the past that led to this future. And that could…
"Lead to the timeline getting fractured and creating a new dimension," Talia said.
"Okay, thank you. Do we have some Creation bots here? I'm sure I solved that problem from the last I dealt with Cyber Dante."
"Yes, you did fix the problem. However, thanks to the electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere, they can't operate to their full capacity. At most, they can create weapons and vehicles. But can't rebuild buildings like normal."
"That's fine," Drew said.
"How about an HQ? We'll need a base of Operations. Preferably one not in ruins," Talia said.
"Well, there's the New York Sewers."
"Sewers?" Exia thought, looking disgusted.
"It's better than you think. It's actually the only way to Cryptid Island." Avery said.
"Cryptid Island?" Exia thought as she looked at her confused.
"So, where is Doom's home base?" Megra said.
"The Zeus Satellite."
Drew silently walked off.
"Zeus Satellite?" Cindy asked.
"It's a Satellite Watchtower that Drew was designing before the military stole her data. She was going to use it for an early invasion warning system equipped with an impenetrable shield."
"Oh," they all thought.
"I'll go talk to her. How about you all go see if find a vehicle. We can't fly to New York and risk us being discovered."
"Think we can get in touch with Dante to let him know."
"Knowing him, he knows and activated the ship's and Hangar's Lockdown Mode," Avery said.
"Meaning he knows to meet us to at the Sewer."
"The Station… but yes," Avery said, following after Drew.
"Cindy, you and Xia, go and see if you can scavenge any food they might be left. Try not to use your powers. I'll go with the Construction Bots to make some equipment and a stealth vehicle." Talia said.
"Alright," Cindy said before she and Exia zoomed off.
Meanwhile, Drew's Old Office,
Drew, standing behind her desk, looked down silently as she placed a hand on the desk. Recognizing her handprint, the desk activated and glowed a dim light.
"I've been waiting for you, younger me." A hologram of an older counterpart of Drew said.
"Seriously?"
"I know… I know… I couldn't help myself. Anyway, I know what you want to know. And before you ask, no I can't tell you anything about our future or our life with Dante. So go ahead and get that idea out of your head."
"That's not what…
"Hey, did you forget who you're talking to? I know your innermost thoughts. Including the nightly dreams of you and Dante's fir…
"Okay! You can stop. I believe you." Drew yelled embarrassedly.
The Older Drew laughed. "Calm down. I wasn't trying to make fun. Just had to keep the timeline in order. Anyway, by now, you probably heard from Saturday that the Zeus Satellite has been taken over by Doom."
Drew looked at the hologram with a heavy expression.
"Hey now, what's with the long face? There was nothing you could've done to prevent this. This was a set point in time. And, when you try to deviate from these points, it tends to get a thousand times worse. Something Dante and Gwen always say to their younger selves."
"I sense a 'but'," Drew said.
"You're right. There's a but. And that is there's always a loophole around without changing the events of the timeline."
"Ask for help from the past."
"Exactly… but don't get the wrong idea. I didn't summon you the first time. That was something else. Something I can't tell you because the person who did it is someone who governs time and space. And they kinda hate us."
"What did we do to her?"
"Trust me, if I knew, I would tell you. That cra… No, she might be listening. Anyway, I left you something you might like at the Station. That's where you all are going. It's the only place, besides the Tower, Doom can't get into with his powers. And he has no idea about the place. I also gave it a little upgrade along with the vehicles. Feel free to scan them and bring them back to the past. I'm sure some will come in handy." The hologram said as she disappeared.
"So, when are we leaving?" Drew asks.
"We can leave right now if you want. But, something tells me you want to do something else." Avery said, leaning on the door frame.
"Am I getting that predictable? I wanted to go to my parent's house and the Outskirts. I need to go and move OMEGA Protocol somewhere safer. Don't want Doom getting his hands on those suits."
"Alright, then we split up you and I go to your parents' house and Argentina. While the others head to New York."
"No, you should go with them to show and establish the Station. I'll keep in touch using the telepathic link and let you know if I need any help." Drew said.
"Fine, how do you plan on getting around? You haven't fully awakened to your powers. And I don't want you using your super speed while he's up there watching with the high-speed cameras."
"Don't worry. I was going to use my ARC car. It has stealth tech similar to my stealth suit And, I travel long distances in minutes."
Avery took a breath. "Fine. I see you have your mind made up on this idea. I'll keep my eye on you and come rushing if you need it." She said. Drew smiled and got closer. She then kissed Avery on the cheek. "Just be careful," Avery said, smiling.
"I will," Drew said, reassuring Avery.
Avery immediately disappeared to meet up with the others.
