Chapter 75: The Body Brain's Predicament, Ruins of an Ultra-Ancient Civilization

The group continued their journey. With the wide-open landscape, Shirazawa's sharp eyes immediately spotted something flying overhead... a small bird equipped with a camera lens.

It was clearly a surveillance device sent by Potimas to spy on them. Without a word, he destroyed it with a single blast of his .

"That persistent old elf," Shirazawa huffed, keeping up the pace. He had destroyed over a dozen of these monitors along the way, but Potimas had yet to make a move. He was clearly brewing something big. Shirazawa wasn't worried; the Demon Lord would handle it. Honestly, this sense of security was incredibly sweet.

"Aze, there's something underground."

Shiro's voice rang out from beside him. Following the direction she pointed, he activated and . Sure enough, he found something massive beneath the earth.

"Finally, we've reached this stage. Godhood is right before our eyes," Shirazawa murmured, clenching his fists.

He knew that beneath this wasteland lay the ruins of a prehistoric civilization, and within them was the MA Energy required for Deification. After a year of tinkering with the System, he had already analyzed the code for a gender-swap skill. Once he mastered it, reclaiming his manhood was within reach!

"Aze?" Shiro tilted her head, looking at him in confusion. What was this guy grinning about?

"Shh!" Shirazawa made a silencing gesture, signaling her not to ask.

D was definitely peeping at them from home. If he learned the skill now, given her wicked personality, she would surely stop him. The only chance was the second before becoming a God—the fleeting moment before breaking free from the System. In that split second, before D could react, he would master the skill and immediately escape the System's constraints. By then, even if D wanted to do something, it would be impossible. Unless she wanted to risk being dragged back to the Underworld by Meido and use her own divine power.

But if it came to that, it would be a stalemate where nobody wins. He didn't think D would sacrifice her "lazy shut-in life" just to keep him as a cute girl.

At that thought, a look of grim determination appeared on Shirazawa's face. "Let's go down and take a look!"

He waved his hand grandly, leading the charge underground. The others didn't know why he was so hyped today, but they followed his lead anyway.

In a dimly lit room...

A girl wearing cat-ear headphones sat silently, staring at a computer screen. Her slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the desk, producing a crisp sound.

"..."

The girl's gaze was deep as she watched Shirazawa and the others descend into the depths.

"Heh." She let out a cold laugh and began typing rapidly on her keyboard.

This caused the small white spider under a nearby glass dome to bristle, its hair standing up as it felt an instinctive sense of alarm. *What is she doing? Has she seen through the Information Brain's plan?* The little spider frowned, feeling a trace of unease.

"You'd better stay still. I can't guarantee what I'll do to you if you act up," the girl said, glancing up with a chilling threat.

Hearing her words, the restless spider immediately felt indignant. *Who do you think you're looking down on? I, the Body Brain, do not fear power, hardship, or danger! How could I possibly succumb to your threats!*

The little spider puffed out its chest, looking every bit like a rebel. However, it had forgotten its current situation.

"Oh? It seems I've been too merciful." The girl arched an eyebrow with a half-smile. "In that case, today's dinner is canceled."

*Wait! No! Heads can roll, blood can flow, but dinner must not be missed!*

"Nooo! Master! I was wrong!" The little spider hurriedly begged for mercy, throwing away its dignity as the Body Brain. Under someone else's roof, one must bow.

"Good girl~" The girl reached out and rubbed the spider's soft abdomen, her narrowed eyes flashing with a dangerous red light.

Inside the underground cave...

Shirazawa looked around and found the area swarming with ant-type monsters.

"Lord Shirazawa, let me handle this," Mera volunteered, drawing the longsword at his waist and charging toward the ants.

While he was the weakest in the group, that was only relative to people like Shirazawa and Ariel. After half a year of training, Mera's stats had increased significantly. Plus, Sophia needed to keep her level at Lv 1 until her growth-correction skills—like , , and —were maxed out. This was to ensure her stats would be maximized when she finally leveled up.

Have you ever seen a lv 3 monster with 20,000 in all stats? If not, wait eighteen years. To prevent her from leveling, Mera handled all the hunting, and his experience gain was quite respectable. He cut through the monsters like he was slicing vegetables.

Shirazawa frowned slightly. Too slow. He couldn't wait.

"Clap, clap, clap!" The four sisters stood on the sidelines, cheering. "Go! Go! Go!"

Shirazawa's mouth twitched. "Don't just stand there. Clear this place out as quickly as possible."

"Got it, big brother!" The four lolis charged enthusiastically into the fray. The balanced battle instantly turned into a "cute loli massacre."

"Try not to destroy the ecosystem here too much; it affects the world's operation," Ariel, the world-conscious Demon Lord, reminded him.

"Got it." Shirazawa nodded. He just wanted to reach the ruins at the bottom; he had no real interest in these monsters.

But while he didn't care, someone else did. Shiro was silently stuffing ant corpses into her spatial storage, planning to have charcoal-grilled black ants for dinner. *Heehee... it must be delicious.* She licked her lips in anticipation.

Ariel massaged her temples. "You... sigh, never mind..." Shiro responded with a sweet smile.

Once the area was cleared, they headed deeper. Whenever they hit a dead end, Shirazawa used Earth Magic to open a new path, ensuring they moved unimpeded. Soon, they reached the end of the passage. A massive metal door, looking highly technological, blocked their path.

"Ruins of an ultra-ancient civilization?!" Ariel's eyes widened in disbelief. "How can this be here? For all these years, right under his nose... Hyuvan is truly useless for not noticing this."

After cursing the Wind Dragon Elder, Ariel's expression turned solemn. The metal door had a faint flow of light across it; clearly, this ruin was still operational after all these years. *How much MA Energy is this thing consuming?!* No need to guess—Potimas was definitely behind it.

Looking at this relic built by cannibalizing the world's life force, a fire of rage ignited in Ariel's chest.

*BOOM—!*

With a single punch and a violent explosion, she punched a hole straight through the thick metal door.

"..."

"Ahem, isn't that a bit too violent?" Shirazawa watched the hole in the door, his mouth twitching as he spoke up weakly.

"Do you have a problem?" Ariel looked back at him with a chilly glare.

Shirazawa shook his head immediately. "No..."

"Let's go. Let's see what's inside." Ariel took the lead and stepped through the metal door. Shirazawa followed closely, and the rest filed in after them.
