Chapter 22 - CHAPTER 22:The man who knew

Raghavan brought her back to the forest once again.

Something inside him had changed. Strange powers had awakened within his body. It wasn't just that—he had even managed to stay underwater for an unusually long time. None of it made sense to him.

He told everything to Pallavi.

She listened carefully, then frowned."Raghava… didn't the doctor you met give you tablets without even explaining your condition? He told you to take them every single day without fail, right? Have you been taking them?"

Raghavan shook his head."No… I stopped taking them from the day grandfather got arrested."

"I'll be back soon. Stay here," he said, and left.

He went straight to meet Dr. Varghese.

Sitting before him, Raghavan spoke with frustration."Doctor… I don't understand what's happening to me. Please tell me the truth."

He explained everything.

The doctor listened in silence, then leaned forward.

"Raghavan, there are things in this world that people refuse to believe. Some claim to have seen aliens. Some say they've seen God. There are even places on Earth believed to be remnants of divine civilizations…"

He paused.

"You went to a place like that. Atlantis. A lost city beneath the ocean—untouched by ordinary humans. And you opened something that was never meant to be opened."

Raghavan's breath hitched.

"The tablets I gave you were to suppress those changes. But you stopped taking them… and now, those powers have awakened fully. And they're only going to grow stronger."

Raghavan sat frozen.

"But that's not all," the doctor continued."I'm not just a doctor. I was once in the military."

He began narrating his past.

During a deadly attack, he and a commander were the only survivors. As they wandered through the ruins, they found a strange man lying unconscious in a massive crater formed by missile strikes.

"He didn't look human… not entirely," the doctor said.

They brought him back to the lab.

"When he woke up… we realized who he was. They call him Missile Man."

Raghavan's eyes widened.

"He can move at the speed of a missile… and strike with the same destructive force."

The doctor leaned closer.

"You're not the only one with powers, Raghavan. There are others. People like you… and like him."

A heavy silence filled the room.

"One day, you'll meet him."

Later, Raghavan returned to Pallavi and told her everything.

She was stunned. Confused. Unable to fully believe—but unable to deny it either.

"What's your decision, Raghava?" she asked softly.

He didn't answer.

Instead, he walked away.

Hours later, he came back downstairs.

"I'm leaving, Pallavi."

She stared at him. "What are you saying?"

"You asked for my decision… this is it."

He took her to a house—her father's brother's home. A place where she would be safe.

At the doorstep, she looked at him, her eyes trembling.

"Is there anything else you want to say to me, Raghava?"

Tears filled both their eyes.

"You decided to leave me… I didn't stop you. I followed you without even questioning… but tell me one thing…"

Her voice broke.

"How could you remove me from your heart so easily? Or… am I still there?"

Raghavan stood in silence.

He couldn't speak.

"Raghava… I'll stay here. Until you come back for me. I won't come looking for you."

Her tears shattered him.

But he forced the words out—

"In this lifetime… we can't be together."

Without looking back, he walked away.

Days passed.

Raghavan returned to his grandfather's house, but the memories haunted him—his grandfather, Pallavi… everything.

He couldn't even sit in peace.

Then, a message arrived.

A location.

From the doctor.

When he reached there, he saw Dr. Varghese… and another man.

"This is Commander James William," the doctor introduced.

Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind roared across the area.

A figure landed before them.

It was him.

Missile Man.

"Raghavan," he said, "right now, everything feels like a dream to you. But the opportunity in front of you is real."

"You're going to protect this world—with us."

Before Raghavan could respond, Missile Man took him away.

Not by car. Not by bike.

They flew.

Like a missile.

They reached a hidden facility—advanced, futuristic, filled with technicians and hackers. A secret defense base.

"This is where you train," Missile Man said.

"You'll learn your powers. Master them. And when you're ready… you'll become one of us."

Two months later…

Dr. Varghese arrived at the base.

Missile Man led him into a secret vault.

Inside was a suit.

On its chest, a name glowed—

AURA

In the next room—

A figure descended from the sky at incredible speed.

It was Raghavan.

Wearing the suit.

Controlled. Powerful.

Transformed.

Missile Man smiled.

"I introduce… the new superhero—Aura Prime."

Moments later, a holographic alert appeared on Raghavan's wrist device.

"Your mission is on."

He took off instantly.

A bridge was collapsing.

A school bus hung dangerously over the edge.

Aura Prime rushed in, holding the bus steady, pushing it back to safety.

Then—

He noticed another car slipping off the edge.

Time froze.

His breath stopped.

Because inside the car—

Was Pallavi.

Without hesitation, he secured the bus and rushed to her.

The car door broke open—she fell—

He caught her.

Safely.

Alive.

She fainted.

He took her to the hospital… and left without revealing himself.

When Pallavi woke up—

"Who saved me?" she asked.

"No one knows," they replied.

Outside the window—

Raghavan sat silently.

Tears streaming down his face.

He couldn't face her.

Dr. Varghese's words echoed in his mind:

"If you want to protect the world… you must have no one. Your loved ones will only become your weakness… and your greatest pain."

Raghavan closed his eyes.

Wore his mask.

And flew away.

But no matter how far he went…

His heart was still with Pallavi.
