After training ends and everyone says goodbye, Tang Han leaves with one major concern still hanging over him: later tonight he is supposed to go with Hayakawa Tazuna to pick up the special parts he ordered. Tomorrow is Saturday, and most of the girls are free, so he is already planning a celebration party in the team room for Haru Urara's debut-race victory. He has even been practicing cooking so he can prepare a proper feast. But all of that depends on one thing first: surviving this trip to the warehouse.
On the way to the school gate, Tang Han once again witnesses the grim spectacle of the trainers' "school bus war," where male trainers desperately fight for seats on the bus back to the dormitory. The losers are left behind to be "picked up" by their horse girls. Tang Han reflects that, thanks to his protective outfit, he usually does not have to participate in that horrific struggle.
At the gate, Tazuna is already waiting for him. Tang Han does not want to go immediately, because he is waiting for Gold Ship to act as his bodyguard. He stalls for half an hour, chatting with Tazuna while secretly checking his messages. Eventually Gold Ship replies, telling him to go ahead first and send his location; she says she will arrive shortly afterward. Tang Han has no real choice but to proceed.
Tazuna leads him back to the same remote warehouse as before. Tang Han immediately sends Gold Ship the location, and Gold Ship reassures him she will arrive within five minutes. That calms him down a lot. In his mind, with Gold Ship supposedly on the way, even if Tazuna suddenly tries something, he will still have backup.
When they arrive, Tazuna opens the warehouse and shows him that a much larger shipment of parts has arrived this time: enough to build multiple treadmills for the team, plus parts for Gold Ship's promised toy UFO. Tang Han is impressed by the quality. Tazuna notices his unease and solemnly promises that she will not repeat what happened before. She even steps back a few paces to show she means no harm.
Tang Han claims he trusts her, but in practice he is still extremely wary. He literally backs into the warehouse facing her the entire time, keeping her in his line of sight without ever turning his back. Even when he bumps his heels on boxes, he maneuvers around them while still watching her. It is absurdly cautious, but from his perspective that is the only honorable way to face possible danger.
As he begins loading the parts into his system backpack, Tang Han thinks everything is under control. But then the real problem emerges. Tazuna suddenly realizes that the warehouse still contains a faint residue of Tang Han's scent from the last time they were there. Even though most of it has dissipated, what remains is enough for a horse girl's sensitive nose to detect clearly.
And this time, the effect on her is worse.
Previously, before she had redefined him in her heart as a very close friend, his scent mainly triggered comfort and sleepiness in her—leading to the "human pillow" incident. But now, after becoming emotionally closer to him, the same scent provokes something different. Her appetite and sleepiness are not the issue anymore. What rises up is the third major horse-girl desire.
Tazuna immediately senses that something is going wrong inside her and, to her credit, tries to warn Tang Han. Blushing and gripping her skirt, she tells him that he had better leave quickly because she is starting to feel "strange."
Tang Han absolutely understands that this is bad news. For a moment, escape seems obvious.
But then he looks at the mountain of precious parts.
He hesitates. These parts are too valuable to just abandon. His greed and practicality win out over his self-preservation for the moment. He tells Tazuna to endure it just a little longer while he finishes packing everything up, convinced that surely nothing too terrible will happen in those extra moments.
That is where the chapter ends: Tang Han choosing loot over safety, right as the situation is obviously becoming dangerous again.
The core joke of the chapter is that Tang Han does everything "right" in terms of paranoia and preparation—calling Gold Ship, watching Tazuna constantly, keeping distance—but still manages to walk straight into a new disaster because the real trigger is the lingering scent in the environment, not just Tazuna herself.
