"Old man! Are you done talking yet?"
Jacob couldn't help smiling awkwardly the moment he heard the voice from inside the room.
It was no secret at all that the voice definitely belonged to Flounder. And he sure wasn't in a very good mood.
Jacob stole a glance at the gap of the ajar door before looking back at the old gentleman. "Umm... Is he still upset about my decision?"
Rudwig let out a heavy sigh and shook his head. "You needn't worry yourself about that troublemaker, young sir." He sounded annoyed just thinking about Flounder. "To be frank, I'm surprised you didn't give him a proper beating for the ruckus he caused on deck. I sure for one would've."
Jacob let out an awkward laugh. He didn't want to say that beating Flounder wouldn't have solved anything. The man was suspicious by nature. That wasn't something a punch could fix.
"Well, I'll be off then." Jacob nodded toward Rudwig. "Again, thanks for understanding."
