After apologizing, Anning practically held her breath for a few seconds. Her fingers fisted the bed spread beneath them but even after a few seconds, the room was still silent.
The only sound in the room came from the faint chirping of birds in a distance, but Anning didn't mind. She decided to wait, why? Because she was the one in the wrong.
She was sure Wanqing was going to say something, maybe tell her apologizing wasn't even necessary or that she should stop looking so guilty.
"I'm hungry." Wanqing finally said, snapping Anning out of her thoughts.
Anning raised a brow and blurted, "What?"
Wanqing ran a hand through her hair, closing her eyes as she drew in a small breath.
"I haven't eaten all day. Go to the kitchen and get me some food." Wanqing said softly.
Anning's mouth fell open in disbelief, for a moment, Anning was totally sure she was hearing things.
