Chapter 44 - Anniversary

Jay's POV

It's been two days since Ella's wedding, and tomorrow is our second wedding anniversary.

I still can't believe two years have already passed.

I was making dinner in the kitchen when Keifer walked behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Baby, what are you keep thinking about?" he asked softly.

"Nothing," I replied with a smile and continued cooking.

"Well... you said you bought something for me and that you'd show me later," he said.

Oh, right... the nighty.

"Yes, I almost forgot. I'll show you tomorrow night," I said.

He smirked.

"I know why tomorrow night."

"Really? I thought you forgot," I teased.

"How could I? Well... I forgot our first wedding anniversary because I didn't know the date back then," he said.

I nodded with a small smile.

Just then, we heard Kaith crying.

I walked over and picked him up.

"Mama," he mumbled as he placed his tiny hand on my chest.

"Bad manners," Keifer said to Kaith.

To my surprise, Kaith immediately removed his hand.

Just then, Jace crawled toward me, touched my chest, and looked at Keifer with an innocent smile.

"Oh... so you're showing me that you won't listen?" Keifer asked.

"Remove your hands from my wife's chest," he said as he gently tried to move Jace's hand away.

Instead, Jace grabbed my T-shirt tightly and buried his face against me.

"Unbelievable," Keifer sighed.

I couldn't stop laughing.

"Come on, Keifer. Serve the food. I'll come after feeding them."

He nodded.

I sat on the couch and fed both of our twin boys.

After drinking their milk, they slowly closed their eyes and fell asleep.

Keifer came over.

I carried Jace while Keifer carried Kaith.

We walked upstairs and gently placed them in their cribs before going back downstairs.

We had dinner together while talking about tomorrow.

"Jay, let's visit the orphanage tomorrow. It's been a while since we last went there," Keifer said.

I smiled.

"I'd love to."

After dinner, we cleaned everything together before going upstairs.

Keifer wrapped his arms around me as we lay on the bed.

"Happy anniversary in advance, baby."

I smiled and kissed him.

"Happy anniversary."

Soon, we both fell asleep.

---

Next Morning

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Keifer already looking at me.

"Happy anniversary beautiful."

"Happy anniversary "

We smiled and shared a gentle kiss before getting out of bed.

After breakfast, I got myself ready while Keifer dressed Kaith and Jace.

Our twin boys looked adorable in their matching outfits.

Once everything was ready, I packed their diaper bag while Keifer carried them downstairs.

He carefully buckled both babies into their baby car seats, and I sat beside him.

Soon, we arrived at the orphanage.

At the same time, a large truck stopped near the entrance.

"Sir, your order has arrived," the driver said.

Keifer nodded.

"What's inside?" I asked.

"It's everything the children need. We also never celebrated with them when Kaith and Jace were born, so this is our gift."

I smiled proudly at my husband.

We walked inside.

The moment the children saw us, they came running.

"Kuya!"

"We missed you!"

They hugged Keifer tightly.

"I missed all of you too," Keifer laughed.

"Look who's here."

Everyone looked at Kaith and Jace.

Both babies smiled and waved.

"Hiii!" Jace said happily.

"Aww... they're so cute!"

One by one, the children held Kaith and Jace.

I was surprised.

Usually, the twins became fussy around strangers, but today they happily played with everyone.

Then I noticed several babies around the same age as Kaith and Jace quietly watching us.

My heart hurt.

I walked over and picked one of them up.

Keifer did the same with another baby.

We spent almost two hours playing with every child before giving them the gifts Keifer had prepared.

Their smiles made everything worth it.

Soon, it was time to leave.

Just as I turned around, I felt someone gently holding my dress.

I looked down.

A little boy, about Jace's age, looked at me with teary eyes.

"No..."

My eyes immediately filled with tears.

I picked him up and hugged him tightly.

He wrapped his tiny arms around my neck.

I wished I could stay longer.

Slowly, I handed him back to the nanny.

As I walked away, I heard him crying behind me.

Every step became harder.

Tears rolled down my cheeks.

I felt so guilty for leaving him.

Keifer immediately wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"It's okay, Jay."

I buried my face in his chest and cried quietly.

He gently rubbed my back until I finally calmed down.

"Come on," he smiled softly.

"Let's cheer you up."

We got into the car.

A few minutes later, he suddenly stopped outside a small ice cream shop.

"I'll be right back."

He returned with my favourite ice cream.

He handed it to me with a smile.

"Here."

I smiled through my tears.

"Thank you."

We quietly ate our ice cream together before continuing our drive to Tita's house.

Soon, we arrived at Tita's house.

As soon as we got out of the car, Tita opened the door with a big smile.

"Happy anniversary!" Tita, Kuya, and Aries said together.

"Thank you!" Keifer and I replied.

Tita hugged me warmly before carrying Kaith, while Kuya carried Jace.

We all went inside and sat in the living room.

Aries happily sat on the floor with Kaith and Jace

Jace was crawling all over the living room.

"Jace, no!" I called.

He looked at me, smiled mischievously, and crawled even faster.

Everyone laughed.

"See? He's doing it on purpose," Keifer said.

Jace picked up one of the toy cars and happily shook it.

"My naughty boy," I laughed.

Kaith, on the other hand, quietly sat beside Aries, playing with a stuffed teddy bear.

"They're twins, but they're completely different," Tita said while smiling .

"Kaith is so calm, while Jace is full of energy."

"That's true," I laughed.

A few moments later, Jace crawled toward the coffee table and tried to grab the TV remote.

Keifer quickly picked him up.

"No, young man. That's not a toy."

Jace pouted and crossed his tiny arms.

Everyone burst into laughter.

"He always does that whenever he doesn't get what he wants," I said.

Keifer kissed Jace's forehead before putting him back on the floor.

Jace immediately crawled toward Kaith and hugged him tightly.

Kaith simply smiled and gently patted his brother's head.

"Aww... they're so adorable," Tita said.

The whole afternoon passed with laughter, stories, and playing with our little twin boys.

As evening arrived, we stood up to leave.

"Happy anniversary once again!" Tita, Kuya, and Aries said together.

"Thank you!" Keifer and I smiled.

We buckled Kaith and Jace safely into their baby car seats before leaving.

After driving for a while, I looked outside.

"Keifer... this isn't the way home."

He smiled without taking his eyes off the road.

"I know."

"Then where are we going?"

"It's a surprise."

I smiled

About thirty minutes later, he parked the car outside a beautiful building.

He came around, opened my door, and held out his hand.

"Come with me, Mrs. Watson."

I smiled and placed my hand in his.

He carried Kaith while I carried Jace, and together we walked into the building.

We took the elevator to the top floor.

As the terrace door opened, I stopped in my tracks.

The entire terrace was beautifully decorated with fairy lights, white roses, candles, balloons, and flower petals.

In the middle was a glowing sign that read—

"Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary."

My eyes instantly filled with tears.

"Keifer..."

"Happy anniversary, baby," he whispered.

I hugged him tightly.

"I love it so much."

"I'm glad you like it," he smiled, kissing my forehead.

Nearby, there was a double stroller waiting for the babies.

Keifer gently placed Kaith inside, and I placed Jace beside his brother.

The twins happily kicked their tiny legs while looking around at all the lights.

In the centre of the terrace stood a beautiful anniversary cake.

Keifer held my hand and gave me the cake knife.

"Ready?"

I smiled through my tears.

"Ready."

Together, we cut the cake.

As soon as we finished, the hotel staff came out from behind and clapped.

"Happy Anniversary!"

"Thank you!" we both replied.

Keifer cut a small piece of cake and gently fed it to me.

"Happy anniversary, my love."

I smiled and fed him a piece too.

"Happy anniversary."

He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on my lips before pulling me into a warm hug.

Just then—

"Mama!"

We both looked toward the stroller.

Jace had somehow pulled one of his socks off and was waving it in the air with a huge smile.

I burst into laughter.

"Oh no... my naughty boy."

Keifer laughed too.

"He can't stay quiet for even five minutes."

Meanwhile, Kaith quietly watched his brother before gently taking the sock from Jace's hand.

"See?" I smiled.

"Kaith is always cleaning up Jace's mess."

"They balance each other perfectly," Keifer said.

He wrapped one arm around my waist while I rested my head on his shoulder.

We looked at our beautiful six-month-old twin boys, surrounded by the warm glow of the fairy lights.

At that moment, I realized I already had everything I had ever wished for.

A loving husband...

Two adorable sons...

And a family filled with love.

This was the most beautiful wedding anniversary I could ever ask for.
