Keifer POV
I clutched my head tightly.
"Keif..." Jay said sleepily as she sat up.
"What happened?" she asked worriedly.
"My head... hurts... I remembered something too," I said.
Her eyes went wide. She quickly opened the drawer beside her bed.
"Here, take the medicine," she said.
I looked at her, confused.
"The doctor gave it to me... your head will hurt, so he gave me this," she said.
I nodded and took the medicine.
"Ahh, now I'm fine," I said.
She hugged me.
"I was just scared for a minute," she said.
I hugged her back and placed my hand on her baby bump.
"I'm fine, Jay... let's sleep," I said.
We both lay down. She hugged me tightly, and we fell asleep.
When I woke up, I looked around and Jay wasn't there. My head still hurt a little, but not like last night.
I couldn't forget the face I saw and the voices I heard.
I got up and freshened up. When I went downstairs, I saw her in the kitchen.
I quickly walked toward her and snatched the plate from her hands.
"How many times have I told you not to do house chores? Where are the maids? And why didn't you wake me up? Why did you come downstairs alone? What if—"
She cut me off by kissing my cheek.
"Baby, I'm fine. I just wanted to make your favorite pasta and sandwich," she said.
I held her hands.
"Baby, please do this after the babies..." I said.
She smiled and nodded.
I made her sit on the couch and prepared breakfast for us.
I held her hand and helped her sit at the dining table. I sat in my chair and fed her.
She fed me too.
I kissed her knuckles.
"Baby, let's pack our bags. We are moving to the island for almost three months. We will come back here during your last month," I said.
She nodded.
I knew she was also scared because of the threat.
"But what if—"
I cut her off.
"I know. I hired a personal doctor for you. She will stay with us," I said.
She nodded.
We went upstairs and I packed our bags.
"Sir, everything is ready," my butler said.
I nodded.
I helped Jay downstairs and we sat in the car.
Jay rested her head on my chest and fell asleep.
She had been sleeping so much these months.
When we arrived, I scooped her up and carried her onto the yacht.
Soon, we reached the island.
I scooped her up again and laid her down on the bed.
"Hello," a girl said from behind.
I looked at her. She was the doctor.
"Hi, I'm Freya Hidalgo," she said.
I shook her hand.
Just then, Jay woke up.
"Ahhhhhh! You cheated on me!" she shouted.
I sighed and sat beside her.
"Baby, she's the doctor..." I said.
She nodded and looked at her.
"Hi, I'm Freya Hidalgo, your doctor," she said.
Jay smiled.
"Hubby, I'm hungry," she said while pouting.
I kissed her pout.
"Ahhmmm... I should go outside," Dr. Freya said and left.
Jay hit my chest.
I chuckled and went downstairs.
I made dinner for us.
"Come, Jay," I called.
I saw her coming downstairs with Freya.
They were both laughing and talking like long-lost besties.
They sat down and I served dinner on the table.
I fed Jay.
After dinner, we both went to our room and lay down.
I lifted her T-shirt.
"Hi, I'm your dada... how are you, babies?" I said and kissed her whole stomach.
Jay giggled.
I gave her stomach soft kisses.
"Okay, now sleep," she said.
I nuzzled into her neck and we fell asleep.
Jay POV
After Keifer went downstairs to make dinner, I stayed alone in the room for a while.
I was looking outside the window when I heard a knock on the door.
"Can I come in?" Freya asked.
"Of course," I said.
She came inside and sat beside me on the bed.
For a few seconds, neither of us spoke.
Then she smiled.
"You know, a few years ago I had a patient just like you and your husband," she said.
I looked at her curiously.
"Really?"
She nodded.
"The husband was overprotective, just like Keifer. He wouldn't let his wife do anything by herself. He even followed her around the house all day."
I laughed.
"That sounds exactly like Keifer."
Freya laughed too.
"Trust me, your husband is worse."
We both laughed.
After a moment, my smile faded slightly.
"Keifer has been through a lot lately."
Freya's expression softened.
"I know."
I looked at her.
"You know?"
She nodded.
"His doctor is a close friend of mine. he told me everything."
I sighed.
"He forgot one year of his memories. For monthsn, he acted like a child. Sometimes he didn't understand what was happening around him. I was so scared."
Freya gently squeezed my hand.
"I know, Jay. And I also know how hard it has been for you."
I looked down at my baby bump.
"I just want him to be okay."
"He will be," Freya said reassuringly. "He's already getting better."
I smiled.
Soon, we started talking about random things.
She told me stories about her patients, and I told her stories about Keifer.
The more we talked, the more comfortable I felt around her.
It felt like we had known each other for years.
Then suddenly Freya looked at my stomach and grinned.
"You know, I still can't believe your husband managed to get you pregnant with twins."
My eyes widened.
"Freya!"
She burst out laughing.
"What? It's true."
I covered my face with my hands.
"Oh my God."
"You should have seen your face."
I groaned while blushing furiously.
"Stop teasing me."
"Nope," she said with a mischievous smile. "Now every time I look at those twins, I'll remember that Keifer was very successful."
"Freya!"
She laughed even harder.
I grabbed a pillow and lightly hit her with it.
We both ended up laughing so hard that tears formed in our eyes.
A little later, we heard Keifer calling from downstairs.
"Come, Jay!"
"Looks like dinner is ready," Freya said.
We walked downstairs together while still talking and laughing.
When we reached the dining area, Keifer looked at us suspiciously.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing..." he said. "You two became best friends in just a few hours."
Freya and I looked at each other and immediately started laughing again.
Keifer narrowed his eyes.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Nothing," we both said at the same time.
We sat down at the table.
Keifer served dinner and kept looking at me every few seconds as if I would disappear.
I smiled and let him feed me.
Freya watched the whole thing with amusement.
"See?" I whispered to her.
"I can see that," she whispered back.
The three of us spent the evening talking and laughing while having dinner.
For the first time in days, I felt relaxed and safe.
And with Keifer beside me and a new friend like Freya around, I knew everything would be okay.
