Top floor of the palace, inside a vast and quiet master bedroom.
Soft light spilled across the room, illuminating the wide bed of pale jade. Kuchiki Rukia sat at the edge, her shoulders shaking.
Her Shinigami powers were gone. Stripped of spiritual strength, she felt the overwhelming pressure of this place bearing down on her, making even breathing difficult.
A neatly folded black-and-white uniform landed on the floor in front of her.
"Change into it," came a calm, unquestionable order.
Seated across from her, Uchiha Tobirama watched with detached indifference.
"From today onward, you will assist here. Follow instructions. Nothing more."
Rukia looked up sharply, humiliation and anger flashing through her eyes.
"I won't," she said hoarsely. "I'm a member of Squad Thirteen. A Kuchiki. My brother—"
"Enough."
The word cut through the room like ice.
Tobirama rose and approached. The oppressive aura surrounding him intensified, pressing down on her like a weight she couldn't resist.
"Titles, families, and pride have no meaning here," he said evenly. "You are alive because I allow it. Remember that."
Silence followed.
Rukia's fists trembled. She understood now—resistance would only lead to destruction, not defiance.
After a long moment, she closed her eyes and reached for the uniform.
Minutes later, she knelt quietly, head lowered.
"…Understood."
There was no triumph in Tobirama's expression—only certainty.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Karakura Town.
Rain battered the windows of a modest apartment.
Suddenly—crash!
Glass exploded inward as a massive, twisted figure landed on the balcony. A Hollow, masked in bone and reeking of death, crawled into the room.
"Or…ihime…"
The distorted voice froze Inoue Orihime in place.
"B-Brother…?" she whispered, recognition flooding her face in horror.
The Hollow lunged.
Orihime shut her eyes, bracing for the end—
Crack!
Space itself split open.
A dark rift tore through the air, violent energy surging outward and hurling the Hollow across the room. The creature slammed into the wall, stunned.
From the rift stepped Tobirama, his presence cold and absolute.
Behind him stood Rukia, instinctively shouting, "A Hollow! It's attacking her—please, stop it!"
Tobirama's gaze never left the trembling girl on the floor.
"So," he said calmly, assessing her, "this is Inoue Orihime."
The rain continued to fall outside as fate quietly shifted course.
