Chapter 39 - Part 39: The Last Sacrifice-

The whisper faded.

"You are too late."

Aren turned toward the darkness, but there was no one there. The Shadow Star stood before the shattered altar, its glowing eyes burning brighter than ever.

The mountain shook again.

Pieces of the ceiling crashed to the ground as black energy spread across the ancient prison.

"The seal is already broken," the creature said. "Nothing can stop what is coming."

Kael struggled to his feet, gripping his sword.

"Then we'll fight anyway."

Lyra raised her hands, and moonlight flowed from the silver mark on her wrist. The light wrapped around Aren and the final Star Shard.

"The guardian said only the blood of the Star King can seal the Skyforge," she said. "But it never said you had to do it alone."

The old guardian appeared as a figure of pure light.

"For a thousand years, the kingdom waited for the lost heirs of the stars. Together, your strength can restore the prison."

Aren looked at his friends.

Kael nodded.

Lyra smiled, though fear filled her eyes.

"We started this journey together," she said. "We finish it together."

The three of them placed their hands on the altar.

The Star Shards rose into the air, circling above them like tiny suns. Their light pushed back the darkness, and for a moment the entire mountain glowed.

The Shadow Star roared.

It rushed toward them, covering the chamber with endless night.

Aren remembered every lesson, every battle, and every person who had believed in him.

He lifted his head and shouted,

"The stars were never meant to rule the world. They were meant to protect it!"

A beam of silver light burst from the altar.

Kael's sword blazed with fire.

Lyra's moonlight joined the shining storm.

The three powers became one.

The Shadow Star fought against the light, but its body slowly cracked. Tiny stars escaped from the darkness, rising into the sky like lost souls finally set free.

With one final cry, the creature shattered into countless pieces.

Silence filled the chamber.

The falling stars outside stopped.

The broken altar began to heal.

But Aren felt the magic inside him fading away.

The guardian looked at him with sadness.

"The prison is restored. The kingdom is safe."

Aren smiled softly.

"That's enough for me."

Then the last Star Shard broke into dust and disappeared into the wind.

Far above the mountain, a single new star appeared in the night sky.

And in a forgotten corner of the world, a hooded stranger looked up at that star and whispered,

"The first battle is over... but the true king has awakened."
