"You'll find out soon enough," Milady said with a smile. "One more thing. We need to deduce the clue on the note they snatched from us."
She had just tried asking the staff, but as expected, they refused to say anything.
"Why?" asked the Huiqi Family's younger brother. His reflexes were far better than his intellect. Though he was a step behind in thinking, he had contributed a great deal to defending the note earlier.
"Think for yourself," the Huiqi Clan Leader chided. "It's good practice for your mind."
"How do you plan on deducing it?" Xi Yadu asked suddenly. He rarely spoke, spending most of his time like a shadow in the corner; at times, even Milady nearly forgot he existed. But whenever he did speak, it felt like being on a ship suddenly shrouded in thick fog, an experience that always stirred a faint, unsettling fear.
"Just leave it to me," Milady said, her expression calm.
