To prevent contestants from "forming alliances or sabotaging one another in advance"—that was the official line, though everyone knew what was really going on—each contestant's living quarters were completely self-contained and sealed off. The bedroom, training room, and dining room were all integrated into a single suite; not only were the entrances and exits exclusive, but even their schedules were strictly staggered.
Before the competition began, the only opportunity Milady had to learn about her future opponents and potential allies was the introductory booklet provided by the Prosperity Committee.
