Seeing Shireen approach, Roggo Kao hurriedly dismounted. He took the three shimmering gold coins, then bowed respectfully to Drogon.
He had no idea why the Dragon God's satchel was in Drogon's possession, but he was almost certain that even if Drogon wasn't the Dragon God's offspring, he must be closely connected to him.
The two dragons looked nearly identical and used the same satchel. Moreover, after receiving the food, they had given the Dothraki a generous reward.
With the gold coins in hand, Roggo Kao vaulted back onto his horse and waved to his khalasar. The hundreds of riders quickly broke their circle, regrouping behind him as they slowly rode away.
The potentially disastrous raid had been averted. The guards and drivers breathed a collective sigh of relief, their gazes fixed on Drogon with newfound respect.
Drogon had not only provided them with food and wine but had also indirectly saved their lives.
Though they couldn't fathom why the Dothraki would offer food to Drogon, they understood that this little black dragon was far more than just a creature of immense strength. Otherwise, the proud and fierce Dothraki Khal would never have abandoned his raid, let alone gifted his own food.
"Shireen, did Drogon buy the food and wine he brought before from the grasslands too?" Tyrion asked. Seeing Drogon glance at Shireen, who immediately grabbed her coin purse and ran out, Tyrion guessed that Drogon must have bought things from the Dothraki more than once.
Shireen nodded her little head and replied with a smile, "Whenever Drogon gets hungry, he goes to the Dothraki Sea, and he often brings back delicious food for me from there!"
Tyrion figured that Drogon must have only started visiting the Dothraki Sea after he grew larger. Otherwise, that Dothraki Khal would have recognized him immediately, instead of hesitating for so long before offering the food.
He knew that three gold coins were enough to buy dozens of times the amount of food on the ground.
"Captain Arvin, you seem to understand Dothraki. What did they say just now?" Tyrion asked Arvin.
"I only understand a little," Arvin replied sheepishly. "They seemed to mention the Dragon God and his offspring."
Tyrion hadn't expected that Drogon's adult form would be revered as the Dragon God by the Dothraki. It seemed his relationship with the grasslands was far more than just buying food.
Drogon probably didn't even know the real reason he had been revered as the Dragon God, ever since he saved that mother and son from the defeated Dothraki.
He strongly disapproved of the Dothraki men who, after their victory, took liberties with the women of the defeated. Whenever he encountered such behavior, he would intervene if he could, dispersing the Dothraki men who were in the middle of their "business."
If they remained stubborn, Drogon would even offer the Dothraki men a free bungee jump.
After Drogon saved people a few times, more and more Dothraki women began to worship him, and the name of the Dragon God slowly spread.
Over time, the Khal of the victorious side, in obedience to the will of the Dragon God, forbade his men from raping the women of the defeated side, only taking the men and children to be sold as slaves. This caused a change in the customs across the entire grassland.
The women without men had no one to rely on, so they naturally followed the victorious Khal and gradually formed unions with the men of the Khalasar. This not only spared them from the fate of being raped but also gave them a new place to rely on.
After the Dothraki left, the guards, at Tyrion's signal, gathered the food on the ground and stored it temporarily. After this narrow escape, everyone felt more confident about the journey ahead.

At Castle Black, Jon, riddled with arrows, was carefully helped down from his horse by his Night's Watch brothers.
Seeing his dear friend return after two months' absence, the portly Samwell Tarly only breathed a sigh of relief once he was certain Jon's life was not in danger.
Sam assisted Maester Aemon as he tended to Jon's wounds. By now, Sam had become Aemon's protégé in all but name.
Not only had Aemon taught him the art of healing, but he also frequently guided him in his scholarly pursuits, grooming him as his successor.
Sam's obesity and lack of combat prowess were offset by his extraordinary talent for learning and medicine—a gift that had led Aemon to abandon his other potential successor in favor of him.
Jon had endured the agonizing journey back to Castle Black, holding on by sheer will. Only upon seeing Sam did he finally allow himself to lose consciousness. He gradually woke after his wounds had been treated.
The two had crossed the Wall separately. Jon, a Ranger of the Night's Watch, had ventured deep into the lands beyond to scout the Wildlings, eventually embedding himself as a spy within their army.
After gathering crucial intelligence and learning of the Wildlings' imminent assault on the Wall, he had made the difficult decision to break with Ygritte and return to Castle Black to warn his brothers.
Samwell, serving as Lord Commander Mormont's steward, entered The Wall to meet with Maester Aemon at Castle Black—the same Maester who had married off his own daughter to a man who sacrificed his sons to the White Walkers and kept his daughters.
By Jon's bedside, Sam recounted their experiences over the past two months. After a short conversation, Jon prepared to rise and report his critical intelligence to Lord Commander Mormont.
Seeing Jon about to seek the Lord Commander, Sam finally had to tell him, "Lord Commander Mormont was murdered by traitors. Gilly and I are the only ones who managed to escape."
"Lord Commander Mormont is dead?" Jon couldn't believe his ears. The bear-like man, who had been both stern and caring toward him, was gone!
"Who were the traitors?" Jon asked, gritting his teeth. He hadn't been by Mormont's side during the betrayal, but that wouldn't stop him from avenging him.
Knowing Jon's feelings for Mormont, Sam slowly listed the names of the twelve traitors.
"Who's in charge of the Night's Watch now?" Jon had little time to grieve; he was desperate to convey Mance, the King-Beyond-the-Wall's plan to the current leader.
"Ser Alliser is the acting Lord Commander," Sam added, delivering another piece of bad news.
"Alliser?" Jon could already foresee what awaited him upon meeting Ser Alliser.
Ser Alliser had despised Jon, the bastard son of the Warden of the North, ever since he joined the Night's Watch, and had constantly antagonized him.
"You might run into someone else you'd rather not see," Sam said, forced to speak as he watched Jon's face darken.
"Who?"
"Janos Slynt!"
"Who is Janos Slynt?" Jon asked, the name completely unfamiliar to him.
Sam explained, "You don't know him, but he knows you. He betrayed your father while he was Hand of the King, siding with the Queen Regent, Cersei."
"When Tyrion, the Imp, became Hand, he stripped him of his command of the City Watch and sent him to the Wall as a brother of the Night's Watch."
Hearing Tyrion's name, Jon recalled his self-deprecating yet comforting words: "All dwarfs are their fathers' bastards."
After becoming Hand, Tyrion had distrusted Janos Slynt, a man who had betrayed his predecessor, and instead appointed Bronn, a mercenary, as the Commander of the City Watch. The Commander was the Hand's most powerful subordinate and ally, and Tyrion naturally wouldn't trust someone appointed by his sister, Cersei.
Out of respect for Eddard Stark and a desire to avenge him, Tyrion had sent Janos Slynt to the Night's Watch for his betrayal of the former Hand.
