Chapter 6 – Storm Blade Arashi-II
Arashi didn't like to be threatened, especially by his own students and particularly by that cunning woman. But the problem is, he didn't know what she had planned or how she would ruin his good things.
He didn't want his years of effort in wooing Maya-san to get ruined — that is a literal 'sake ticket' for life. Maybe he should ask Shiranai? He let out a tired sigh. Who am I kidding — that lunatic might be in on this as well. Just my luck in finding students. One is an idiot who got himself killed, another one a suicidal fox, and the last one is an unhinged madwoman.
He wanted to laugh out loud — maybe he himself is the problem. He really wants to laugh out loud now.
After some internal struggle, he accepted his fate and was ready to take in this brat as his student. But at that moment, he heard a sickeningly sweet 'grandpa' in a quite melodious voice. He almost fainted at that moment. He wanted to use the Hiding like a Mole technique and just disappear.
He looked at the kid again, his eyes were sunken with dark circles, although the voice was sweet, but there was no expression on his face, and with black hair mixed with red streaks. Arashi truly felt that this brat is a messenger from hell sent to take inventory of his remaining days.
Maybe he should use that Jutsu on him — but there is still Shiranai in the village, maybe he should 'off' her as well. He looked at his empty left arm and let out another tired sigh. It is true what they say: when a tiger gets old, it will be truly bullied by dogs.
seeing Arashi turning the letter to sand. Rasa looked at him with curiosity. Although Arashi was looking at him, his gaze was kind of blank at the moment. He seemed to be in deep thought — he is probably reminiscing about his past with his students, who wouldn't want to look back on fond memories, especially for an old man whose ninja career is over. This may be his chance to give a finishing blow and seal the deal. Calling forth all the shamelessness he had stored up in the two lives, he called out to him in his most sweet and childish voice he ever used
"Grandpa!"
Arashi was totally pissed now. Before anything, let's teach this brat a lesson. He can't beat up his stupid father or that cunning woman now. Can't he at least beat up their child?.
First, he released some of his aura — and caught the attention of the brat. Hmm... looks like this brat has inherited some of Hikari's Sensory talents.
He cleared his throat with an audible hm... and said in a heavy voice:
"Don't call me Grandpa, you little brat! I am not an old man who is looking for a caretaker. And you have no right to call me sensei either. Realise this, kid, I don't owe your parents anything. If you look more closely, they will owe me instead."
He wanted to look at his empty shoulders while saying this, but he controlled himself; he hasn't become that petty yet, and he never will.
Rasa was kind of disoriented hearing this. Right, he doesn't know their past. What right did he have to demand something from someone? He was ready to leave with a polite goodbye and sorry.
But he heard a sigh from Arashi this time, which made him hopeful.
"Kid, do you know anything about being a ninja? It is not a glamorous profession as you see from the outside. Your mother wants to scheme to make a so-called great ninja. But she was just a weak woman. Don't glare at me like that, kid. I am telling the truth! All she could do was scheme and calculate, but she couldn't endure! A ninja is a person who can endure what ordinary people can't. Haven't you already endured the loss of your mother? Do you want more? Tell me, kid, do you want to endure the loss of your friends? loss of your comrades? and your mentors? Do you want to walk a path paved with the blood of tens, hundreds or even thousands? Do you truly want to be a ninja, or is it the ghost of that dead woman pushing you?"
Rasa suddenly felt some great pressure assaulting him. The man Arashi now looked like a prehistoric beast who was about to devour him. He felt like a rat being stared at by a snake. He felt true primal fear for the first time. He just wanted to lie down and accept his fate and hope for a quick death.
He felt shame — but it also brought back memories. There was that dirty room, that fat man who wasted life, and the true despair before death!
Something inside him woke up at that moment. It was not something concrete, but was just his will. The will to fight. The will to survive. He still felt like a rat, but a rat with teeth — a rat who will bite back the snake even if it has no venom. Even if it knows its ultimate fate. It will take a piece of meat from you, only out of spite.
Rasa stood straight and looked into Arashi's eyes. He couldn't speak — but his gaze of defiance conveyed his will.....
But suddenly the pressure vanished completely, and he just fell face-first into the ground
"Geez, kid, don't be so dramatic... I planned to plant you in the wall with a full slap — now just taste the dirt first. And remember to come back in the morning before sunrise, your training will start tomorrow and don't be late."
Saying that Arashi walked past Rasa without giving him another look, but he was actually somewhat giddy inside.
