Watching the so-called Bloody Mary Mercenary Corps' interstellar fleet sail away, Charlotte's tail beside Zhao Chen finally relaxed.
"It seems you were quite interested in that red-eyed girl just now?" Zhao Chen remarked.
Charlotte said seriously, "That woman is dangerous."
Zhao Chen pondered for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
That gaze was truly very similar to Charlotte's.
"Alright, now isn't the time to think about these things. Since we've received these five T2 Moose-class Heavy Interstellar Transport Ships, we can pretty much prepare to set off," Zhao Chen said.
With the five T2 Moose-class Heavy Interstellar Transport Ships now received, the next step was to continue heading to the Reef Starfield to pick up people.
Annie beside them clearly looked somewhat excited; it had been nearly half a year since she left her homeland.
When she was abducted back then, she probably never imagined in her wildest dreams that she would ever have the chance to return to her native land.
And she was even bringing her people an opportunity they could never have dared to imagine.
"Next destination: the Reef Starfield," Zhao Chen issued the navigation order.
...
Reef Starfield
Most of the stars in this star sector had essentially reached their "old age," their brightness appearing quite dim.
This also resulted in the environments of the various star systems within the sector being very dark. Planets slightly farther out were basically plunged into darkness all day long, with extremely harsh living conditions.
But perhaps precisely because of this harsh living environment and the lack of resources, the Reef Starfield had become a combat zone that neither the Mechanical Race nor the Stellar Glory Empire cared for.
Both sides would intentionally avoid this star sector.
This led to the sector, aside from its original inhabitants, also hosting some interstellar races that had fled from other civilizations. The chaotic multi-racial structure resulted in the order here being equally chaotic.
Simply put, whoever had more and stronger interstellar fleets was the one who called the shots here.
From within an old Stargate, six starships visited this star sector for the first time.
Looking at the universe before him, Zhao Chen had to admit it was completely different from the Stargate views in the various star systems of the Stellar Glory Empire.
This place felt more like a forgotten corner.
The interstellar warships seen were also mostly antiquated models.
The vast majority were T1 Interstellar Warships and T2 Starships.
The moment Zhao Chen's T3 interstellar warship appeared, the gazes of many bridge personnel on other starships fell upon it.
The people here were always very sensitive to outsiders.
And it was such a strange combination: one T3 interstellar warship and five T2 Interstellar Transport Ships.
But fortunately, Zhao Chen had brought a T3 interstellar warship, which made many people abandon any small ideas they might have had.
"We'll go to that nearest starport to replenish the energy blocks our starships need, and also gather some information about the planet Annie lived on," Zhao Chen said.
There was a starport not far from the Stargate, which indeed provided convenience for Zhao Chen.
"Yes. Initiating contact with this starport's command department now, accessing the Public Channel," Secretary Officer Aili began arranging these matters beside him.
They quickly established contact with the starport. After negotiating the docking fees, a berth was arranged for their starships.
The T3 Blizzard and five T2 Elks began to slowly enter the starport.
Compared to the starports Zhao Chen had visited before, this one was truly quite old. On the exterior of the starport, one could see unrepaired damage marks and even some exposed electronic wiring.
There were also scattered maintenance workers repairing the outside of the starport.
The six starships smoothly docked at a berth.
"Hello, this is G19 Starport. I am your receptionist, Number 777; I am currently right below your starship," a heavily made-up woman appeared in the video feed before Zhao Chen.
Zhao Chen glanced at Secretary Officer Aili beside him. Aili pulled up the view from beneath the ship hull, and indeed, they could see a provocatively dressed, heavily made-up woman standing there.
"Keep the Blizzard on combat readiness. I'll take Annie down for a bit," Zhao Chen instructed Charlotte.
Charlotte nodded. Ever since the starship had entered the port, she had not allowed the T3 Blizzard to shut down its engines and dock. Having once been a rebel commander, she had visited plenty of similar places.
She knew all too well that in environments like this, anything could happen. One must never trust anyone.
Zhao Chen took Annie and left the bridge, descending slowly to the bottom via the starship suspension ladder.
"Hello there, handsome and mighty sir. How may I assist you?" The provocative woman bit her plump lip as she approached Zhao Chen, her hand moving to rest on his chest.
But Zhao Chen dodged it.
The woman showed no change in expression because of this. Noticing Annie beside Zhao Chen, she revealed a mischievous smile. "So the gentleman prefers this type, I see.
I can arrange that. If the crew on your starship require it, I can also arrange corresponding services, guaranteed to satisfy you all.
Race, age, appearance—you and your crew can choose freely."
As she spoke, the provocative woman raised her hand and projected a series of holographic image albums, each displaying women of various races.
Zhao Chen immediately understood what she meant.
In the starports of the Stellar Glory Empire, although such things existed, they were usually conducted discreetly.
He hadn't expected that here, people would get straight to the point, and from her demeanor, she wouldn't even mind putting on a show with Zhao Chen right then and there.
"I need a batch of energy blocks. Here's the quantity," Zhao Chen stated his request.
"Energy blocks are no problem. But it seems this is your first time visiting us, sir. Do you know the trading rules here?" Seeing that she couldn't seduce Zhao Chen, the woman gave up, lighting a cigarette for herself and exhaling a cloud of foul-smelling smoke.
"Only physical goods, right? I'll trade with crystal stones," Zhao Chen tossed out a bag of prepared crystal stones.
Crystal stones were the universal hard currency, found in roughly ninety percent of ores in the cosmos.
Energy could be extracted from crystal stones to manufacture the energy blocks required for starship energy supply.
They could also be used as basic materials for starship construction.
In lawless zones like this, using Galactic Alliance account funds wasn't necessarily accepted. Only crystal stones or other items of tangible value would be accepted for trade.
Before coming, Zhao Chen's starship had prepared a batch of crystal stones.
"Sir, you're giving a bit too much, aren't you?" The fiery woman, seeing Zhao Chen's generosity and the Crystal Stone he paid, immediately looked at him with seductive eyes, her intentions already quite clear.
Zhao Chen promptly stopped the fiery woman from moving closer and stated his purpose: "I have some matters to ask you. Consider the extra as the fee for the inquiry."
