Chapter 24 - Chapter 22: This time, I will make the rules

Today was a rare day that Sarina was actually willing to skip her daily exercise and sleep in late for a few more hours.

Stretching her arms up, yawning, Sarina glanced at the clock on the side table. Deciding that she should really get up now, she quickly freshened up before making her to the kitchen where Clara was happily packing food for their upcoming trip.

"Capital city also has food mom. We won't starve there." Sarina teasingly exclaimed, trying a sneak a sandwich from the box in front of her only to get smacked by the spatula in her mother's hand.

"I know that better than you, miss know it all. Besides I am packing this for the train journey where you three siblings will obviously ask for food before we even sit down."

Clara sarcastically replied, totaling ignoring her drama queen daughter who was rubbing her literally uninjured hand and smiling sheepishly.

"Ok, ok. You are right, I am wrong. Now can your beautiful starving daughter have one sandwich."

Well aware about what her mother said was true, Sarina just gave an awkward chuckle and raised her hand in surrender. An adorable pout adorning her face as she rapidly blinked, greedily eyeing the sandwiches as if they were her last meal.

Clara almost laughed out loud looking at her daughter's greedy expression. It had been quite some time since Sarina last acted spoiled like this in front of her.

"Sarina you…."

"Thank you mom. You are the best. I will go see whether the twins and dad are ready or not."

Just as Clara opened her mouth, Sarina, finding the perfect opportunity hurriedly stole one sandwich. Pecking her mother's cheek from behind, she immediately ran off, shouting as she made her way to her Liam's room, leaving Clara standing there completely dumbfounded.

"This girl…... What am I supposed to do with her?" Chuckling and shaking her head, Clara murmured as she went back to her with a small smile on her face.

Sarina on the other hand, gently knocked on Liam's door.

"You can come in without even knocking elder sister." His voice came from inside.

"Yes I can but I won't. Knocking before entering anyone's room is a basic etiquette everyone should follow. Besides, you also knock on Mila and my door before entering."

Stepping inside, Sarina patiently reminded. Looking at Liam who was almost ready, she quickly finished the last bite before helping him quickly clean his room.

"That's because you and Mila are girls. Dad always says that girls should have their own privacy which no one including their father or brother should invade."

Liam sincerely replied, keeping the folded duvet on the bed.

"Liam, come here." Sarina's hand paused. Looking at her small yet very mature little brother she smiled and lovingly called him over.

Sitting down on the bed to match Liam's height, Sarina took his hands in hers and very patiently said,

"Liam always remember. Whether boys or girls, all them should have their own privacy. Never, and I mean never let anyone, not our parents, neither your sisters nor your friends have the right to invade it. Am I clear?"

Though a little confused, Liam nodded. He had an absolute trust in his eldest sister whom he adored and looked up to. Since she was telling him something then it definitely would be for his own good.

"Good. Now continue with your cleaning while go and check on Mila and dad." Cupping his face, Sarina lovingly said before leaving the room.

Next Sarina went to her own room. Stepping inside, she felt a strong sense of fatigue from her bones as she looked at the mountains of clothes and accessories scattered all around the room.

"MILA ROWAN!!!" Trying her best to suppress the rising anger in her heart, Sarina shrieked as she lunged forward and twisted the ear her little sister who had admiring herself in the mirror.

"Oh, oh, ah. Elder sister, carefully. My small earrings will fall off." Mila said, panicked and afraid for her earrings, not at all taking the almost negligible force her sister was using to twist her ear to her heart, leaving Sarina totally dumbfounded.

Leaving her ear, Sarina sighed in exhaustion as she eyed the room which currently seemed like an almost destroyed boutique.

Following her elder sister's eyes, Mila also realized the hurricane she had caused in the room and chuckling guiltily.

"Sorry sister. I was so excited about our that I completely forgot about this." Mila remorsefully exclaimed, her head down in guilt.

"Sigh! Let's just hurry up and clean this room before mom sees it." Patting Mila's head, Sarina told her as both the sisters quickly got to work.

It took them literally more than half an hour before they managed to fold the clothes back into the closet and put the scattered accessories back to their original place.

Tired, both fell on the bed, wiping their sweat as they finally sighed in relief. Glancing at each other, they burst into laughter.

"hahahaaha! Ok enough. Oh! My stomach is hurting. Let's go outside before mom comes looking for us. It's getting late now."

Wiping the tears that welled in her eyes, Sarina held her stomach as she tried to stop herself from laughing as she reminded Mila of the time.

Both the sisters happily made their way to dining table where everyone else were already for them.

"Look, the two princesses decided to bless us with their presence at last. This poor servant is at your service your highnesses. What would you both like to have first, breakfast or a slap each?"

Eyeing her daughters' bashful faces, Clara sarcastically asking, making both the girls pout adorable as they looked at Adrian pleadingly, as if saying,

'Please save us from this angry wife of yours'

Trying his best to suppress his laughter, Adrian coughed and lovingly put his arms around Clara's shoulder.

"It's ok wife. It's weekend. Let the children relax. Besides there is still a lot of time in our train. We won't get late. Let them eat in peace. You instead focus just on me the entire time."

Adrian reminded his wife, winking at the siblings to finish the food quickly before their mother had another of her mood swing.

Getting the hint, they all quietly began gobble down their food, completely ignoring the display of affection in front of them. After all, having seen it almost daily, they have gotten totally immune to it by now.

Sensing the intensity of his gaze, Clara felt her entire face burning up, turning red as she playfully nudged him back to his seat.

"At least look at place before speaking. We have kids in front of us. What will they think?" Clara bashfully whispered, her face getter redder as glanced at the siblings who literally had their faces in their bowls.

"They will think that how much their dad loves their mom that he doesn't want to stay away from her for even a second." Adrian teasingly replied, not at all caring whether their children were listening to them or not.

"You... are impossible." Clara murmured, giving up completely on persuading him. Besides, it wasn't like she didn't enjoy and like it when Adrian flirted with her like this.

In fact, this habit of his to express his love like this in front of everyone was something she adored a lot and Adrian was also aware of it which is why he usually did it even more often.

Finishing their breakfast quickly, the entire family gathered in the living room with their bags, since they planned to stay over there for a night and return tomorrow.

Reaching the train station, Adrian led them to their seats he had asked Sarina to book online. The twins, excited for their first trip immediately took the window seats, making the three elders chuckle at their excitement.

"Adrian, what are we going to do after reaching the Capital City?" Has Ms Forren told you anything?"

Settling down beside them, Clara glanced at Adrian and asked curiously.

Since she wasn't a active participant of the project, she wasn't really much aware about any information related to it aside from the ones which Adrian will actively tell her.

"Don't worry. Ms Forren and I have planned everything in detail. She will pick us from the station and drop us at the hotel Sarina had booked. After a quick lunch, we will visit the site and finalize it. Once all of that is done, we can go anywhere you guys want for sight-seeing."

Adrian briefed about their plan for the day.

"Dad then after the site is finalized, can we all visit the Crestwood academy as well? After all, in a year I also plan to join it. Visiting it at least once before should be quite an exposure. We can also see the available middle schools in the district for the twins as well as the housing prices."

Sarina suggested excitedly. This school was her dream high school even in her previous life. Not being able to get to get enrolled in it was one of her greatest regrets of life.

It wasn't because she didn't meet the criteria or that she scored low in the national high school entrance examination. In fact, she was in the top 10 highest scorers of her school.

If she wanted, she could have easily gotten enrolled in that school but because she knew that her parents couldn't afford it, she simply didn't apply for it, instead choosing to go to a second-tier city high school not far from her house.

No matter how much Adrian and Clara tried to persuade her, telling her not to play with her future like this and that will manage it somehow but she simply refused to like, making them feel even more guilty for not being good enough for their children.

'But not in this life time. Not only will I attend Crestwood academy but will also lead my family to prosperity and wealth. I will never let mom and dad feel like they aren't good enough. This time, I will make the rules and the world will have to follow them.'
