Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 – The Whisper of the Stars

Leo, Draco, and Rose retrieved their brass telescopes from the dormitory.

The moment they stepped out of the Slytherin common room, Leo glanced at the heavy telescope in his arms and immediately reached a conclusion.

Why carry something by hand when magic existed?

Wasn't convenience one of the greatest benefits of being a wizard?

He casually flicked his wand.

"Wingardium Leviosa."

The brass telescope rose smoothly into the air and floated beside him.

Rose's eyes lit up immediately.

"That's actually brilliant."

Draco was equally impressed. Without hesitation, he thrust his own telescope toward Leo.

"Do mine too."

"Mine as well," Rose added quickly.

Leo rejected both requests without a second thought.

"If you want to become skilled wizards, you should practice yourselves."

Then he paused thoughtfully.

"Although, if your goal is becoming efficiently lazy, you still need practice first."

The two immediately pulled out their wands and began attempting the Levitation Charm as they walked toward the Astronomy Tower.

Draco's telescope floated beside him in a dangerously unstable manner. Every few seconds it drifted toward a wall, forcing him to divide his attention between the corridor ahead and the potentially catastrophic brass projectile beside him.

Meanwhile, Rose had already mastered the task.

Her telescope hovered steadily at her side as though attached by an invisible string. Every few steps she proudly glanced at Draco, silently showing off her success.

By the time they reached the Astronomy Tower, a tall and elegant witch was already waiting for them.

Her dark robes fluttered gently in the night wind. Refined features, calm eyes, and an air of quiet mystery gave her an almost ethereal presence beneath the starlit sky.

Professor Aurora Sinistra smiled faintly as the students gathered.

"Welcome to Astronomy," she said. "I am Professor Sinistra. Let us begin with attendance."

Her clear voice carried effortlessly across the tower.

As roll call continued, students from both Slytherin and Hufflepuff looked around with curiosity and anticipation.

After several days of magical education, many first-years had already developed wildly unrealistic expectations about the subject.

Some secretly believed they would learn magic connected directly to the stars.

Others were convinced Astronomy involved uncovering ancient celestial secrets.

A few perhaps hoped they would eventually learn how to pull the moon out of the sky.

Above them, the night stretched endlessly across the heavens.

The stars glittered brilliantly over Hogwarts.

Professor Sinistra stood before the class with her long black hair neatly tucked beneath her pointed hat. Her bronze skin glowed softly beneath the moonlight, and her emerald eyes seemed to reflect the stars themselves.

"Astronomy is not merely the study of stars," she began softly.

"In the magical world, the heavens and magic share a profound connection."

"The movement of celestial bodies and the arrangement of constellations often conceal hidden truths and mysterious powers. Through the study of the stars, we gain a deeper understanding of magic itself."

As she spoke, she gestured gracefully toward the vast sky above them.

Leo, Draco, and Rose stood together near the edge of the tower, gazing upward.

Suddenly, Draco frowned.

"I still don't understand why we have classes with Hufflepuffs," he muttered disdainfully. "They'll only slow everyone else down."

Leo sighed inwardly.

Draco really was changing.

Unfortunately, he was changing at the speed of a particularly stubborn turtle.

Years of pure-blood ideology couldn't be erased in a matter of days.

"Don't say that," Leo replied mildly. "Everyone came to Hogwarts to learn."

Rose folded her arms and smirked.

"Really? Weren't you the one lecturing everyone earlier about how Slytherins should act with dignity and proper manners?"

Draco froze.

A moment later, he noticed several nearby Hufflepuffs glaring at him.

His expression immediately stiffened.

"Hmph."

Crossing his arms, he turned away without another word, clearly irritated.

Leo merely shook his head before looking back toward the sky.

The stars tonight were astonishingly bright.

Without modern pollution obscuring the heavens, the night sky appeared endless and impossibly clear.

As Leo continued staring upward, an unusual sensation suddenly washed over him.

Something deep within his body began moving on its own.

The stars reflected in his eyes seemed to resonate with the ancient inheritance Ambrose had left behind.

In an instant, the world around him disappeared.

Leo felt himself drifting into an endless sea of stars.

Countless celestial bodies surrounded him.

They pulsed with brilliant light and ancient mystery.

Every star seemed connected to the magic flowing through his body. Invisible threads linked them together, carrying whispers of forgotten knowledge and timeless truths.

Each star felt alive.

Each contained fragments of mysteries waiting to be understood.

The vast cosmos stretched infinitely in every direction.

It was magnificent.

It was ancient.

It was beautiful beyond words.

Outside that strange realm, those nearby watched Leo slowly close his eyes.

A peaceful expression settled across his face.

At the same time, faint traces of magical energy began drifting from his body.

Tiny strands of nearly invisible starlight shimmered around him like a delicate veil.

Rose noticed immediately.

Concerned, she instinctively reached out to shake him awake.

Before she could touch him, Professor Sinistra gently stopped her.

"Don't disturb him," the professor whispered.

Rose blinked.

Professor Sinistra's eyes shone with unmistakable astonishment.

"He has entered a state of resonance with the stars."

Her voice carried a note of excitement.

"Such opportunities are extraordinarily rare. Many wizards never experience one in their entire lives."

"Let him continue naturally."

Rose hesitated before slowly lowering her hand.

Beside her, Draco stared at Leo with an expression full of complicated emotions.

"Hmph. Resonating with stars?"

His voice dripped with skepticism.

"Sounds ridiculous."

Yet beneath the scoff was a very obvious hint of jealousy.

Rose rolled her eyes.

"Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it isn't real."

Draco immediately looked away.

Several minutes passed.

Then Leo slowly opened his eyes.

A faint glow lingered deep within them, as though traces of starlight still remained behind.

He released a long breath.

The cool, mysterious sensation of the cosmos still clung to him.

The delicate strands of starlight surrounding his body gradually faded away.

Even so, a slight tremor passed through him, as though part of his mind had not yet fully returned from that vast and wondrous sea of stars.
