Keifer: "So is it okay now, to call for your family?"
Jay: "Why are so eager to call for my family, you don't want to take care of me anymore?"
Keifer: "Jay you know it's nothing like that, and I know even if you don't say it, I know you miss your family especially when you are sick."
She chuckles and say,
Jay: "I was just kidding and I didn't miss them much because you are kind of my family here."
I was surprised that she actually said and gleaming with happiness,
And showed her cheeky smile,
Jay: " Okay stop don't make me regret saying it."
Keifer: "I don't know about it, you practically said I am one you all have."
Jay: "I did not say that."
Keifer: "Seems like it."
Then the nurse came in for the check up and checked and I inquired when everything was alright and then she went.
Jay: "I have sent you my parents number, Happy now?"
Keifer: "Yes, I will call them and then get something for you to eat."
I dialled their number and after some time her mother picked it up,
M: "Hello, who is this?"
Keifer: "Hello po, this Keifer, I am Jay Mariano 's friend."
M: "Ohh okay, tell me dear."
Keifer: "There is nothing to worry now, but Jay got into accident but she is fine now."
M: "Oh my god, Is everything alright? Is she okay?"
Keifer: "Yes, Ma'am. She if fine now. Do you want to talk to her."
M: "Yes, Please."
Then I gave her the phone and went out to get something for her to eat, I came in with food, she was done talking,
Keifer: "So how did it go?"
Jay: "There coming here."
Keifer: "That's nice."
Jay: "No, I don't want to disturb them."
Keifer: "Jay, you are not disturbing them, You are their kid, Ofcourse they are going to worry about you."
She didn't reply so I started feeding her and helped her to take medicine,
I noticed she feeling uneasy with her hair,
Keifer: "Do you want me to?"
She looks confused as what am I asking,
Keifer: "Do you want me to help with your hair."
Jay: "You know that?"
Keifer: "no, but I can try."
She just shrugged and I went behind her and took her hair, tried to tie it but it was slipping away, then after the struggle I tied it in loopy way ,
And she laughed,
Keifer: "What?"
Jay: "Nothing, when I first met you I actually that you were a jerk and now you are taking care of me and trying to tie my hair."
Keifer: "No way, I make really god first impression."
Jay: "No, you were such a jerk."
I gave her a look,
Jay: "okay now you are not, now you are my best friend."
Best friend really? oh my god how will I make this girl understand, I thought and mentally faced palmed my head.
I gave her an fake smile.
Keifer: "Okay, you take rest."
Jay: "What are you going to do?"
Keifer: "I am going to work."
Jay: "You are leaving for the office?" She asked with a hint of disappointment, I just didn't know if it was for me or is it because she can't come to the office, because this girl loves it.
Okay now I am disappointed, I am competiting with a freaking office, shit what have I become.
Jay: "Hey?" She brought out of my trance,
Keifer: "No, No, I am going to be working from here."
I saw here change in expression, is that a smile.
Jay: "Are you sure?"
Keifer: "Yeah." I said and she smiled and nodded,
Jay: "Can you work in this room?"
Keifer: "I have to attend meeting and you have to rest, it will disturb you."
Jay: "No, please please, I don't like being alone in this room feeling like a paitent, I don't mind your voice, So please."
Keifer: "Okay." i muttered and started working,
And the day went by like that,
The next day early morning Jay's parents are supposed to reach her, So I sent my driver to pick them up and Jay is still sleeping.
After sometime they came,I opened the door for them,
Keifer: "Hello po."
M&D : "Hello, where is Jay?"
Keifer: "She is still sleeping, so you guys can rest in the guest room."
M: "But I have see her."
Keifer: " Okay, follow me silently cause she is still resting."
I took them to her, she was still sleeping and her parents went and sat beside on either of her side , her Dad held his hand and I noticed tears in his eyes.
Her mom was caressing her hair, it was beautiful, I wish Jay could see this, Then I thought to take a picture of them and I did silently,
I smiled at them and they kissed her and came towards me and they look still tired from the flight,
So I showed them their to rest.
And I couldn't sleep again. So I did some work and it was almost time for Jay to wake up.
And I went to her room and she was awake and I helped her to freshen up and I did not tell her about her parents coming yet because I wanted it to be a surprise.
So I started feeding her breakfast and in the midway,
Mom: "Baby" her mom shouted before she entered
She looked a little shocked seeing,
Jay: "Mom, Dad when did you guys come?"
Mom: "We came early."
Dad: "Yeah you were sleeping."
Mom: "How are feeling dear?"
Jay: "Better, you guys didn't have to come this long way."
Dad: "Jay, Ofcourse we will come you are my daughter."
They said and started talking and I moved a little giving them space,
Mom: "I am just greatful that David took care of you." She said pointing at me and I froze,
Jay: "Mom, That's not David that's Keifer."
Dad: "Then where is David?"
Jay: "We broke up few months ago."
Mom: "What? Why didn't you tell me?"
Jay: "It wasn't important mom."
Mom: "So Keifer is your new boyfriend?" She asked and this time both of us froze,
Her dad looked at me suspiciously,
Jay: "No, Mom, Keifer.. he is my friend." She said while stuttering,
And her mom looke me at both of us suspiciously, and we both looked at each other,
Keifer: " We are also business partners." I add,
I don't know why but they still don't looked convinced.
