Was this some kind of nightmare difficulty?
At that moment, Logan truly wanted to drag the director of the Harry Potter films from his previous life into this bathroom and punch him in the face while screaming, "You don't know a damn thing about trolls!"
Because of Logan's attack, the troll had completely lost control.
The creature roared furiously and began smashing everything around it without restraint. Every swing of its club shattered walls, sinks, and support pillars as chunks of stone exploded through the bathroom like cannon fire. Water poured endlessly from the broken pipes, flooding the floor beneath their feet.
Logan dragged Hermione backwards while desperately searching for somewhere safe to hide.
Hermione stared at the monster in horror before turning towards him anxiously. "You should leave first! If you keep protecting me, both of us will die here!"
Her mind was racing rapidly now. Logan didn't possess any truly destructive combat spells, and even if the shield charm surrounding him was unusually powerful, nobody knew whether it could survive a direct hit from that giant club.
Someone had to escape and get the professors.
But Logan rejected her idea immediately.
"If we leave, we leave together," he snapped without hesitation. "Do you think this thing is a joke? What happens if I leave and it kills you before I get back?"
He tightened his grip on his wand as the troll let out another deafening roar.
"And besides," Logan continued through gritted teeth, "we're not at the point of despair yet."
The troll suddenly locked onto the two young wizards again. It growled in a strange, incomprehensible language before charging straight towards them with terrifying speed.
At that critical moment, Logan abruptly raised his hand and covered Hermione's eyes.
"Trust me," he whispered into her ear. "Don't move."
Hermione's body stiffened instantly.
For some reason, despite the danger surrounding them, she obeyed without resistance.
Logan took a deep breath.
"The sun is shining."
The moment the words left his mouth, Logan realised something surprising.
This was his first time using the spell in actual combat, but unlike many of the darker spells from the grimoire, this one didn't burden his body with any negative side effects whatsoever.
In other words, this spell worked like a large-scale blinding attack that affected everything nearby except the caster himself.
That discovery alone nearly made Logan laugh.
A brilliant silver sphere suddenly appeared in front of the charging troll.
Then—
FLASH!
The bathroom exploded with blinding silver light.
The troll screamed instantly.
Its enormous body staggered violently as thick black smoke rose from its eyes. Having lost its sight entirely, the creature began roaring in panic while wildly swinging its club in every direction around itself.
BOOM!
CRASH!
Stone walls shattered under the monster's attacks while broken sinks flew through the air like missiles.
The floor was already flooded from the destroyed pipes, and without its vision, the troll completely lost its sense of direction.
Then disaster struck.
The giant slipped.
Its enormous body crashed backwards onto the flooded floor with a thunderous impact, and the spiked club flew from its hand into the air.
For a split second, everything seemed to freeze.
Then gravity took over.
THUD!
The enormous club smashed directly into the troll's forehead.
Fresh blood immediately burst from the creature's bluish-green skin.
But instead of collapsing unconscious like it had in the original story, the troll only became even more enraged.
The creature roared madly and began trying to stand back up despite the massive wound on its head.
Logan nearly coughed blood from sheer disbelief.
This was ridiculous.
In the books, this thing got knocked out by one stupid accident. Now it looked like every injury was only making it angrier.
Who the hell upgraded this monster?
The blinding effect from the spell wouldn't last forever. Worse still, the troll was now rampaging near the bathroom exit. If its vision returned before they escaped, he and Hermione would be trapped inside with no way out.
They couldn't stall any longer.
Hermione suddenly pulled Logan's hand away from her eyes and stared at the struggling troll in complete shock.
"Oh my god," she whispered. "Logan… what did you even do to it?"
Logan didn't have time to explain.
He immediately covered her eyes again with one hand while keeping his wand raised.
"Don't look yet."
Then, with his free hand, Logan opened his palm.
A purple magic book instantly materialised in the air before him.
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
The moment the spell activated, the grimoire began spinning rapidly.
Purple magical energy exploded outward from Logan's body, flooding the entire bathroom with violent pressure. The hidden aura surrounding the grimoire completely disappeared, revealing its terrifying existence to the world for the first time.
Logan's magic reserves began draining at an absurd rate.
It felt as though someone had pulled a plug inside his body.
The purple light around him intensified further and further until it formed a massive rotating vortex.
Broken wood.
Shattered stone.
Porcelain fragments.
Everything nearby was pulled into the swirling magical storm.
The bathroom trembled violently beneath the pressure.
Even the troll sensed the danger.
Though blind, the creature instinctively began panicking. It swung its arms around wildly while trying to flee, but without vision, it smashed directly into the wall instead and collapsed again with a furious roar.
Meanwhile, Logan's eyes slowly changed colour.
Dark green gradually disappeared beneath glowing purple magic.
His pupils became completely violet.
The magical vortex reached its limit.
"Go."
The next second, every object trapped within the storm shot forward simultaneously.
BOOM!
THUD!
CRACK!
Countless chunks of stone, shattered wood, and razor-sharp porcelain blasted into the troll like artillery shells.
The creature's body convulsed violently as debris pierced through its chest, neck, and skull. Blood exploded across the flooded floor while fragments buried themselves deep into its flesh.
The troll let out one final broken roar before collapsing completely.
Silence followed.
The vortex vanished instantly.
Logan's body swayed violently as the grimoire disappeared from his hand. His legs gave out beneath him, and he dropped heavily to one knee while gasping for breath.
"I'm drained…"
His chest rose and fell painfully.
That cursed spellbook had nearly sucked him dry. Every time he used its full power, his magic vanished like water poured into a bottomless ocean.
Hermione slowly opened her eyes after hearing the noise stop.
The sight before her froze her completely.
The troll lay motionless in the middle of the destroyed bathroom. Jagged pieces of wood, stone, and porcelain were embedded throughout its upper body and skull. Blood mixed with the floodwater across the floor, slowly spreading through the ruined room.
The troll was dead.
Completely dead.
Logan finally relaxed slightly after confirming the creature wasn't moving anymore. He had no intention of leaving enemies alive if he could help it. A wounded troll was still a troll.
Hermione hurried over and helped him stand properly.
Her eyes were filled with confusion and disbelief.
"Logan," she asked softly, "what just happened? How did you even do that?"
Logan looked at the curious little witch beside him and immediately began desperately trying to invent an explanation that wouldn't expose the grimoire.
Unfortunately, before he could think of anything—
"Oh my god!"
"Logan! Hermione! Are you alright?!"
Harry and Ron suddenly appeared at the bathroom entrance.
The two boys stared blankly at the destruction around them.
Broken walls.
Flooded floors.
Shattered sinks.
And in the middle of it all, the gigantic corpse of the troll.
Even without seeing the fight itself, they could imagine how insane the battle must have been.
But the final result still felt unbelievable.
The troll was actually dead.
A few seconds later, hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor outside.
Dumbledore arrived first.
Snape, who had apparently just returned from outside the castle, followed closely behind alongside several other professors.
The moment Professor McGonagall saw the troll's corpse and the two first-years standing nearby, her face darkened instantly.
"What happened here?" she demanded furiously. "Logan, explain this immediately! Why are the two of you still here? You should have been in the safe area with the other students!"
After Draco's report, the professors had quickly intercepted Harry and Ron while they were sneaking away. Once they learned Hermione and Logan were still missing, everyone rushed back towards the bathroom at once.
On the way, they encountered Snape returning from outside the castle.
But before anyone could explain the situation properly—
A terrifying magical fluctuation had erupted from the girls' bathroom in the distance.
