Chapter 79 - Chapter 78: Emilia's Concerns

Hearing this, the seriousness in Elsa's eyes instantly melted away, and she casually brushed a lock of black hair that had fallen onto her shoulder.

She lightly shifted her lotus steps and pressed herself against Green's side, her warm breath brushing past his ear. Her tone was sickeningly soft, the final sound carrying the unique cold allure of a gut ripper.

"Oh—Green-kun, could it be that you want to add some role-playing elements to the contents of my request?"

Elsa's fingertips subtly brushed against Green's lower abdomen, her aggressive gaze seeming to fantasize about the shape of Green's intestines.

Green's breathing hitched slightly; the sensation on his abdomen felt like an electric current shooting through his entire body.

"Damn it, is there something wrong with the quality of your clothes? Why is there static electricity?"

Her fingertips climbed along the texture of the fabric, finally stopping at Green's chest, where she could feel the steady, powerful beating even through the cloth.

Elsa chuckled softly, "Green-kun clearly claims to be the one doing the training, so how is it that even your heartbeat is unsteady now?"

"When others are around, you call me Husband, but when we're alone, you call me Green-kun. Elsa, you're being irresponsible."

Green lectured her shamelessly.

A smile touched Elsa's brow. She leaned down, her lips almost touching his earlobe, her warm breath fluttering against Green's eardrum.

"Green-kun is truly straightforward. However, if you could cut off a segment of 'Mother's' intestines and give it to me, I might call you that privately."

Green's brow twitched almost imperceptibly, and he distastefully put distance between himself and Elsa.

"Crazy. You can't go three sentences without mentioning intestines. What do you want that stuff for? To use as a condom? I'm not used to those things."

Green's teasing words, however, made Elsa's eyes light up.

"Haha, that idea is truly captivating. Green-kun, we really are compatible."

Green gasped, looking down at the spot Elsa had touched, thinking: *I can't wear this shirt anymore.*

Elsa looked up, her expression somewhat dreamy, her slender Fingers tracing her flushed cheek, as if fantasizing about the appearance of that umbrella.

"When raindrops fall, washing away the fresh blood on the umbrella surface, the shaking caused by gravity makes the dead flesh come alive again. Isn't that beautiful?"

"Ugh, I can't stand you. Here is the arrangement for the next step. Get away from me quickly."

Green quickly took a slip of paper from his pocket and flicked it into Elsa's hand.

Elsa clutched the slip of paper and pressed it to her chest.

"A love letter? Green-kun's actions are truly boyish."

"If I wrote you a love letter, I'd have to write it on intestines, right?"

Green gave a dry laugh, then shouted in Otto's direction.

"Let's go, Otto. Why are you still addicted to moving things? No one is paying you."

"Coming, coming."

Otto tidied his dirty clothes and walked over, raising a hand with a smile and resting it on Green's shoulder.

"Green-kun, the house is piled high with cakes. Are you planning to resell desserts lately? Do you have some profitable new information?"

"Yes, yes, yes. I plan to choke the White Whale to death with cake!"

Green glared fiercely at Otto and led him slowly out of the alley.

Elsa watched Green's retreating back, her eyes somewhat hazy.

She actually quite enjoyed this game of playing family, just like playing house.

She slowly unfolded the slip of paper. It read: Bring Meli to the Karsten family Mansion tonight to find me. We will depart for the Great Tree of Flugel tomorrow morning by carriage.

Elsa concisely grasped the phrase "come find me tonight," and the blush on her cheeks deepened further.

"Oh my~ It really is a love letter, Green-kun..."

...Just as Green walked into Crusch's Mansion, he saw a certain pouting Half-Elf girl waiting by the main entrance.

"Stare—"

Emilia puffed out her cheeks, staring fixedly at Green. The words "I am angry" were clearly visible in her silver-violet eyes.

Green's memory was always excellent, so naturally, he knew the reason for her displeasure.

They had clearly agreed that day that once he confirmed the streets were safe, he would take Emilia out shopping.

Emilia had kept this promise in her heart, counting down every second until this moment.

Green didn't make excuses. He walked straight up to Emilia and said in surprise, "Oh dear, this is terrible. The knight came back too late, and the princess is almost turning into an old woman."

"Hmph... Don't think you can just gloss over this. You promised to take me out shopping."

Green scoffed and decisively gestured toward the door with his chin.

"Fine—then let's go right now."

"Really? Yes!"

Emilia spun around abruptly, the sullenness in her eyes instantly vanishing, shining as if filled with crushed diamonds.

But this excitement didn't last three seconds. She straightened her face again and switched to a slightly reproachful tone: "I have many things I need to ask you."

Green's negotiations with Crusch today weighed heavily on her heart.

Even if she was naive, she could tell that Crusch's true purpose in inviting her over was to obtain the intelligence Green possessed regarding the White Whale.

What worried her the most was that Green had actually volunteered to join the White Whale subjugation effort.

Emilia, full of worries, walked side-by-side with Green on the flagstone path, remaining silent for a long time.

Seeing this, Green proactively broke the silence: "Emilia, didn't you have something to ask me?"

Emilia slightly raised her head, her voice soft yet serious: "Mhm... Green, you want to subjugate the White Whale to accumulate prestige for me, right?"

Green nodded, his tone frank: "That is part of the reason. After all, not everyone knows that the Royal Candidate of our faction is a kind-hearted and responsible good kid."

Emilia showed an "I knew it" expression, her brow furrowing even tighter: "Won't this... be too dangerous?"

"Don't worry. I guarantee with full confidence that we will win. Just trust me this one time, alright?"

"Of course I believe you."

Emilia's voice was lower, but the worry in her eyes was thick and impossible to dispel.

"But there's also the Witch Cult... Green, you get tired too, and you have moments of distraction. When I think about that, I... I really can't calm down."

"Relax, Emilia. I have a trump card, the kind you can only use once in a lifetime. I can completely elbow the White Whale and its guardian to death."

As Green spoke, he dramatically demonstrated several elbow strikes.

Emilia looked at Green's comical performance and reluctantly curled her lips, but that hint of a smile was quickly suppressed by a stronger sense of unease.

She gently bit her lower lip, her voice containing a slight, hard-to-notice tremor.

"Green, you're lying again... Those three Archbishops of Sin didn't all appear just because of the White Whale, did they?"

Green was somewhat surprised. During his negotiations with Crusch and Anastasia, he had never directly answered the reason for the Witch Cult's appearance.

After all, if he spouted nonsense, Crusch's Divine Protection would detect it.

Emilia watched the change in Green's expression, and she knew she had guessed correctly.

"Sure enough, is it also because of me?"
