Carol lifted Lucas with just one hand by his arm, and the next moment they landed behind Damian.
Her skill made it seem almost like he was flying.
"We are not here to pick a fight," Damian said calmly, his expression filled with understanding.
"It's a little too late for that, my man," Caesar said with a grin. "You just interrupted my hunt."
"Unfortunately, Lucas is off limits," Damian stated calmly, his hands still inside the pockets of his long coat.
"Oh really? We'll see about that," Caesar smirked.
"Damian, be careful. This guy is strong," Carol warned.
"Isn't that why you brought me along?" Damian replied with a proud, confident grin.
As he stepped forward, Lucas realized something.
Damian was actually going to fight for his sake.
He hadn't expected that from the dark-haired leader.
The fact that he was willing to go out of his way to play the part wasn't just admirable—it was impressive.
Although, if he was being honest, Lucas wasn't sure there was any need for it.
