She stood there for a few seconds, silently watching Lucas and Elena under the covers. It was almost as if she knew something had happened.
Lucas figured she must have heard some of the noise and come out to check if anything was wrong.
After confirming that everything was fine, she simply switched off the light and returned to her room.
The moment the door closed, Elena shot upright beneath the covers.
"Lucas, I thought you said she was asleep?" she whispered harshly, sounding more offended than she probably intended.
"I did..." Lucas sat up as well. "She must've woken up because of how loud you were."
"Th-That was your fault too!" she shot back, her face turning red. "And... I haven't done something like that in a long time, so… I couldn't help it."
She crossed her arms and glared at him.
"And besides I was expecting you to be an amateur, not a professional."
She looked at him as though he'd somehow wronged her again.
