'Damn, why is he so strong?' Xue Yao grimaced as it felt like she was pulling a rock.
When she turned around, the silver-haired man was already heading towards the door of the fortress.
"Hey, I have something to tell you!" She shouted, making him come to a halt.
He only glanced over his shoulder, as if silently asking what.
"Give my bird back, it is very stupid, and I bet it won't taste good. Just give it back." She said, trying her best not to sound irritated.
"No."
"Then…then, don't blame me if I use that weapon on your people. You might be able to resist it…" She turned to the crowd, a small smile curved on her lips. "They might not."
Before Xue Yao could turn back to him, a gasp escaped her lips. "What in the name of…" her voice dropped, the moment her eyes met those pair of golden eyes…they were burning with anger.
"You wouldn't dare."
"Dare me." She said, slightly pushing her chest out.
The man gritted his teeth so hard that she could hear it. "Throw her in the dungeon!" His voice thundered.
"Brother Lie Lang!" A small, cheerful voice tore through the crowd.
Xue Yao's heart raced in her chest… She didn't want to be thrown into the dungeon. And why was Tian Lan not helping? 'That stupid system, I knew it was a bad idea the moment she popped in my face. Other people's systems are cool and save them in times of trouble, while mine freely handed me to the wolf's den.'
Lie Lang's stoic face immediately softened the moment his ears heard the familiar voice. He lowered himself to hug the pup.
"Brother Lie Lang, I miss you so much. I thought you were not coming back… I got so scared that you left because of me." The little pup sobbed.
"You naughty pup, why would I leave you? You are the sweetest male pup in the world." Lie Lang patted his white short hair.
As Xue Yao stared at the exchange between them. Her eyes were fixed on the pup, who seemed to be around the age of five of a human child. His hair was as white as Lie Lang's, his cheeks as round and plum-like as an apple's, and his white ear stood erect, covered with fur. And like the adults, he only had small clothes around his waist.
A mischievous smile curved on her lips. Yes, she doesn't like kids, and definitely doesn't know how to warm up to them… but if she can get him to her side, and tame him, wouldn't that make Lie Lang think twice before messing with her?
'Hahaha, this is my perfect escape!' Xue Yao thought inwardly.
By the time she snapped out of her daze, she found the little boy staring at her. His gaze was filled with amusement.
"Brother, who is she? Another human breeder?" The little boy said as he walked closer to Xue Yao, sniffing the air like a dog.
"Yes." Lie Lang waved his hand in the air for her to be taken away.
Xue Yao's eyes widened as she tried to pull back. "Give me my Honghong, else this place will know no peace." She threatened.
But as she turned around, his figure became smaller and smaller.

"Ah." Xue Yao grimaced as she fell flat on the ground. "Geez, don't you know you are supposed to handle a woman with care?" She snapped at the wolf-man who was now locking the gate.
"Behave well." He said in a deep, hoarse voice before snarling at her.
"In your dreams," she muttered under her breath as she sat upright.
Her eyes scanned the surrounding prison. She tried to find any other prisoners, but it seemed she was isolated from the others.
Xue Yao let out a sigh. Staring at the bars, she doesn't have any weapons to break out of the prison, her mind racing with different thoughts.
"Honghong." She muttered as she touched her chest. She hadn't felt anything since Honghong was taken away, which meant that she was still safe.
Her eyes darkened slightly as she thought of Tian Lan. "Tian Lan, come out."
And in the next moment, Tian Lan materialised in front of her with a bored expression.
She yawned with a hand over her mouth. [You are thrown into a dungeon.] She shook her head in disappointment.
"I wouldn't be here if you had helped me." Xue Yao narrowed her eyes. "Perhaps it is because you don't have the ability to help, because if you do, you won't watch your master get abducted."
Tian Lan frowned. [Master? You think you are my master? Hahahaha.] She laughed so hard that Xue Yao wanted to strangle her.
Tian Lan wiped away her invisible tears from her eyes. [You are not my master, you are not capable, and I'm only helping you.] Her expression turned serious.
"Helping me? You called this helping me? I'm locked behind bars, waiting to become a baby-making machine for the wolves, and Honghong is somewhere in the kitchen waiting to be marinated and cooked, and you call this helping?" Xue Yao rolled her eyes.
