Still sitting at the table, the napkin still laid flatly on my lap staring at him in shock, I never expected he would speak up for me, maybe that was because my family was here.
This was most likely all an act . I thought my eyes still fixed on him as his booming voice pierced through the room.
"I think you've forgotten your place in this house" he said staring Victoria down
"Remember who is paying for you to go to college and sponsoring all you and your mother's lavish trips" he said, focused intently on the steak he was cutting before putting the piece of mutton into his mouth.
Penelope's cheeks tingling pink in embarrassment, left the dinner table in anger looking at her mother briefly before leaving. Her mother Victoria turned her face away from her before she left.
No one chased after her, everyone just went back to their meals like the last few minutes didn't happen. I coughed lightly before looking over to Matthew offering him a small smile.
