I ended up finishing all the paperwork we didn't get done on Sunday, so now, on Tuesday, I'm able to start working with Mei.
I'd been to the Support Course a few times already, and I knew how to get there and not blow up from whatever is on the other side of the door. As I suspected, Power Loader and Mei are the only ones here; everyone else went to intern with a support company.
"Nezu told me a bit of what you're wanting to do, but I need to know what kinds of materials you're going to be using. I'd rather you not make some weapon in my shop." Power Loader said pointedly as he led the way to Mei's area.
"Oh, hey, it's you! Err, what's your name?" Mei said as her eyes focused on me, "Micah. Flame guy from the festival?" She nodded, though I could tell she wanted to get back to whatever she was making.
For now, since I knew Nezu didn't need laser weapons, I decided I'd be focusing on medicine and armor, stuff to keep people alive. Since I didn't really need Mei just yet, Power Loader gave me the workspace next to her, and I got to work.
The first thing I'd be working on would be the Stimpacks, something usable in the field. To really dumb it down, a Stimpack was a syringe full of medical drugs that boosted your natural healing a lot, regenerating most wounds without any side effects.
Rad-Away was also a big one, something I'm sure Nezu would like. The only real side effects of Rad-Away were the fact that you peed like there was no tomorrow, and you could get addicted if used too much. Also, Nausea, diarrhea, Stomach pains, and headaches.
Since I'd told Nezu ahead of time that I'd be messing around with drugs, the good kind, he's been able to gather medical equipment for me to get dosages and compounds right, something that would come in handy for the next drug on my list, Addictol.
Addictol is a very powerful anti-addiction medication that works immediately. It comes in an inhaler-like device. This stuff not only fixes the physiological need for drugs, but the psychological need as well. It won't keep you from relapsing, however, especially after long-term drug abuse. Oh, and you get nausea, dizziness, and vomiting. As a treat.
After finishing that up, the next things I wanted to work on were Med-X, a powerful opiate analgesic that binds to opioid receptors in the brain and central nervous system, reducing the perception of pain as well as the emotional response to pain. Basically, super morphine.
I wanted that so that I could start working on the Auto-Doc, something I will need Mei's help with. I do look forward to finally putting my Intermediate Programming to use. Before I could even start, however, Power Loader chased Mei and me out and told us to eat lunch before coming back.
"Does he always do that?" I asked Mei as we walked to the cafeteria. She nodded, "Yeah, he does. It's annoying since I was just getting my stride too! I have soooo many babies to finish before the week is over!"
"Wanna help me with something when we get back?" I asked suddenly. "Whatcha working on? Are you making a baby too?" I tried not to think of Sasha for a good moment before answering. "Kinda. It's an automated doctor. I've got a few things that I'd need your help with if you don't mind."
I then told her about the M1 and M3 Auto-Docs, how they could do everything from major surgery on a brain tumor to synthesizing drugs as needed. All without a medical professional nearby, though not recommended. She didn't give me an answer right away, finishing her lunch before telling me yes, and we rushed back to get started.
As soon as we got back, I hurriedly made a few batches of Med-X, as well as Stimpacks and Rad-Away, before we started on the M1 Auto-Doc. With Mei present, all I had to do was make a detailed schematic of the Auto-Doc, and she got right to work.
While she did all that, I focused on the various drug formulas this thing would have to know, as well as the various protocols that would be embedded within it.
It took us about six hours, but we got it finished. It was able to perform mock surgeries on various things we placed in front of it. It freaked Power Loader out a bit, but I promised him it wouldn't be used. The reason I made the M1 fist was so that Mei would be familiar enough with the technology to be able to jump to the M3, before getting to the big M9.
Power Loader made up go home for the night, however. So we did so, already making plans to create something even better tomorrow.
------------
For the next two days, Wednesday and Thursday, Mei and I are hard at work.
After our success with the M1 Auto-Doc, we got straight to work building the M3. Since they looked almost exactly alike, there wasn't much difference material-wise, the internals were more different.
The M3 was much more advanced than the M1. Unlike the M1, the M3 has interchangeable parts, giving it a wider variety of procedures and surgeries it could do. It also had a separate diagnostic unit, but it seemed to burn out after so many uses, so that was the big thing I kept working on.
Mei was having the time of her life, though.
Already, she'd taken the idea of the Auto-Docs several arms and fashioned a backpack not too far from Doc Oks. With that, we were able to fix and make several M3 Auto-Docs, Recovery Girl personally inspected them, and even Nezu and Midnight came to check them out.
I took the time to show off the various drugs I'd made on the side, and with the Auto-Docs help.
Stimpacks, Rad-Away, Addictol, Med-X, Mentats, Buffout, Fixer, and Cateye. There were obviously more, but a good chunk of them were horribly addictive, and I don't plan on going the big pharma route.
Nezu was still happy, however, and helped me and Mei get the Auto-Docs patented under our names. With the stash of industrial and manufacturing stuff shoved into my brain as well, I'd be able to set up an assembly line eventually. Time to print money!
For now, though, Recovery Girl got a few M3 Auto-Docs as well as a whole bunch of Stimpacks. I spent my early morning working on making Auto-Stimpacks when Nezu called me to his office.
When I got there, I saw Aizawa already there, and knew it was getting closer. "Sir Nighteye has recently reached out with troubling information," Nezu started as I sat down. "There appears to be a new type of weapon circulating currently. A 'Quirk-deleter round' as they've called it.
As the name says, it erases quirks in whomever they strike, thankfully for now, only temporarily. Several of our students have run into villains carrying these new types of bullets; one has already been hit."
So it was time.
I didn't remember much about the Yakuza arc, but what I did remember stuck with me. Eri, that poor innocent girl, was being torn apart by Overhaul. He was torturing a child to use her to make bullets so he could make money.
There were very few individuals in the MHA show that I wanted dead. AFO and Dabi were simply too dangerous to be left alive, but I had a special weapon in mind for Muscular and Overhaul. Two creatures that wore human skin and lived among us.
I looked forward to killing them.
It was Friday when Nezu told Aizawa and me about Nighteye's warning. I spent the next six days working on something that would make sure Overhaul died. I finished it just in time, as Aizawa and I were called in to plan the assault on the Yakuza.
