I raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong, Scyther?"
Eevee turned too, ears twitching.
Scyther shook her head fast. "Scy… scyther," she said, voice soft and quick.
Scyther's thoughts spun in a way I could never have known: Why does it look so big… so alive? I should look away, but my eyes keep drifting back… This is not like me, Scy…
Oblivious to the real reason, i simply gestured toward the bathroom. "Come on. Let's all take a bath. We're leaving tomorrow and we'll be traveling again for days. This might be our last chance to relax like this for a while."
Eevee perked up right away. "Eevee! Vee vee!" She trotted after me without hesitation, tail still wagging hard.
Her thoughts ran bright and happy: Bath time with Master! Warm water and his hands in my fur… and many more places... veee… those slow strokes that make me shiver and moan softly... It's always the best.
As ever since I had gotten Eevee as my Pokémon, we had done this every day.
And even back in the research lab, she had taken baths almost every day with the other Pokémon there. Those times had always felt pleasant and fun to her. Scyther's blush deepened, but after a long moment she gave another small, hesitant nod.
I smiled and reached out at the same time. My hand gently wrapped around one of her scythes, careful to avoid the razor-sharp edge.
With a firm tug, I pulled her along.
"Alright, everyone," I said with a grin. "Let's go."
"Veee!"
Eevee happily bounced after me without a second thought.
"Scy..."
Scyther let out a soft chirp as she stumbled a step closer. Her shoulders stiffened, and she instinctively lowered her gaze. The sudden closeness left her strangely aware of him, making her heart beat just a little faster.
Still, despite her embarrassment, she didn't pull away thinking.
...This is normal.
Humans and their Pokémon do things together all the time. They eat together, sleep near each other, travel together...
And Gil is my trainer…
