Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 — The Train Beyond Time (part-1)

Ken now what am I going to do??...only six days is left for the fight.

I am going to die for sure!....

Huh don't worry I won't let him kill you....

By the way you can fight with him as you are stronger...then why are you training me...

Finnally you asked me i thought you left your brain somewhere...

Ok fine it's not a time to joke....

I am training you because I can't be your side everytime you know that....i am here to find the problem between the world's...i can't always have fun with you...after fixing everything I have to leave to my actual place..

I know....i didn't reacted or said a word but I was little sad i turned my face towards left little down hiding my eyes...so Ken would not see...but I know he noticed

Ok don't be sad...he pushed me little by saying that.

I am not sad...

I will train you...but if things go wrong and he is about to kill you I will stop the fight...ok

Hmm...

But whatever I teach you till now is your observation and speed....and you are still not good in that so...

So?..

We are going somewhere....

Where?....

It's a secret for now first we will go home and finish our homework...

Huh why it is secret i can't wait plss plss tell me...

Like a small little boy you are asking me...soo cute...he said and started pating my head...

"Okay fine, I won't ask."

I crossed my arms and looked away.

Ken looked at me for a moment.

"You are definitely going to ask again."

"...No."

"You are."

"I'm not."

"...Where are we going?"

Ken sighed.

"I knew it."

"Just tell me!"

"No."

The rest of the walk home was filled with me trying to get answers and Ken refusing to give any.

When we reached home, Ken immediately pointed toward my school bag.

"Homework first."

My shoulders dropped.

"...You're cruel."

"Homework."

"You're definitely enjoying this."

"Homework."

I clicked my tongue and sat down.

Unfortunately, between homework, dinner, and Ken correcting half of my answers, far more time passed than I expected.

Before I realized it, the clock was already approaching midnight.

I stretched my arms.

"Finally done."

Ken glanced at the clock.

"Good."

Something about his tone made me suspicious.

Very suspicious.

Then he stood up.

"Go change."

"...What?"

"Go change."

"Into what?"

Without a word, Ken walked to his room.

A moment later he returned carrying a folded set of clothes.

I blinked.

"...What is that?"

"Your outfit."

I unfolded it.

My eyes widened.

It looked like something straight out of a historical drama.

A traditional Japanese outfit.

Along with it—

a long black wig.

Silence.

I slowly looked up.

Then back at the clothes.

Then back at Ken.

"...Why?"

"Wear them."

"...Why?"

"Wear them."

"...KEN."

He pointed toward the stairs.

"Wear them."

Ten minutes later—

I stood in front of the mirror.

The outfit actually fit surprisingly well.

The wig looked strange though.

Very strange.

I stared at my reflection.

I look handsome though.....

"NO"

I turned around.

Ken had changed as well.

And unlike me—

he somehow looked completely natural.

The traditional dark clothing suited him perfectly.

"I think I am more good looking then you"..I know you agree with me..he said

Yes..yes do you know you praise yourself too much.....

Yes I do..... I like to praise myself...

"Ready?"

"...No."

"Good enough."

I sighed.

"Can you at least tell me why we're dressed like this?"

"No."

"One hint?"

"No."

"Half a hint?"

"No."

"...I hate mysteries."

"No, you don't."

Unfortunately—

he was right.

The next second, Ken placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Don't scream."

"...Why would I scr—"

The world blurred.

"...AAAAAAHHHHHH!"

A cold wind rushed past us.

The scenery around us changed in an instant.

Then suddenly—

everything stopped.

Silence.

I blinked.

Once.

Twice.

We were standing on an empty train platform.

The large station clock slowly moved toward midnight.

11:58 PM.

The platform remained empty.

Cold wind moved through the station.

Not a single passenger stood nearby.

Only me and Ken.

I sat on one of the benches.

"...You still aren't going to tell me where we're going?"

"No."

Ken looked at me.

"You spent all day asking questions."

"And I got zero answers."

"Correct."

"...I hate you."

"No, you don't."

Unfortunately—

he was right.

The station clock changed.

11:59 PM.

A familiar whistle echoed through the darkness.

My eyes immediately moved toward the tracks.

The rails began vibrating.

Blue light appeared in the distance.

Closer.

Closer.

Closer.

Until finally—

the train emerged from the darkness.

The same train.

The train where I first met Ken.

The train where everything began.

The train that carried spirits.

For a brief moment, memories of that night returned.

The tunnel.

The blindfolded swordsman.

The fear.

The challenge.

Everything started because of this train.
