White looked at Erefeild as he walked away, then Erefeild arrived at his office, he sat down. He relaxes his entire body.
Just let his body soften and relax his expression.
Then a group of assassins appears in front of him.
The Captain: Greeting Lord Erefeild, it has been some time since we last saw each other
Erefeild turned his gaze to the captain without moving his head. He put his hand on the desk.
Lord Erefeild: There are a few individuals that I want you to take out
The Captain: Then, when can the mission start? My lord
Lord Erefeild: General Tranor will provide the necessary info for your mission, and also, there are a few individuals that I want you from lay a single finger on them.
The Captain turned his head and looked at Erefeild. He hesitated but spoke his heart out anyway.
The Captain: My Lord, if they cause you so much burden, why keep carrying it? I ask you to allow me to free you.
Erefeild snapped, he slapped the table with all his might, his palm turned white, then incredibly red, after that it started to turn dark blue, his thumb flickering. He then clenched his fist as his palm returned to its normal color.
The same document, pen, and other accessories on the table fell to the ground as the table shook after a loud bang.
The Captain went silent.
Erefeild: You will follow as you talk, all of you can leave
The Captain: Understood, my lord.
The assassin left
Erefeild then closes his eyes. relax his entire body. He takes a deep breath as he opens his eyes, but it becomes blurry.
His hip moved to the edge of the chair. back at the backrest, as his arm relaxes and falls from the armrest, despite the uncomfortable position, Erefeild stares at the ceiling with his blurry vision and his flickering eyes, his mouth open slightly
Erefeild: White, Geithner, Uncle, father. If all of you would stand in infront of me, right, I might......
Erefeild paused as he felt hesitation.
Erefeild: I don't know what I really want anymore
In the Military camp, outside of the capital, General of the Army, Tranor, is nowhere to be found. The assassin captain decided to wait, then about 5 hours later.
General Tranor arrives after noon.
Tranor walked into his office and sat down, then the assassin captain appeared. Due to his just appearing in the corner of Tranor's eyes. it startle Tranor
General Tranor: Oh God, where did you, death bastard, come from?
The Captain: My Apologies for suddenly appearing. I have come....
Tranor cut the captain off.
General Tranor: You can come when I say it's done. You can leave now.
Tranor then. Take the documents that are currently await for his signature and focus on the document instead.
The Captain: It is an urgent matter. Sir. Tranor, Lord Erefeild himself, has urged me to carry out his mission before any damage is caused.
The Captain looked at Tranor, but Tranor remained silent. He continued to sign the document and review it.
The Captain: I have sent a few of my men to check on the situation, and we fin...
Suddenly, Tranor breaks his pen tips, then crushes the pen with his finger. and threw the broken pen to the captain. Tranor then takes another pen from his desk and continues writing. After that, the whole room is filled with nothing but the quiet sound of Tranor's pen signing the document.
The Captain sees General Tranor, unbothered, doing his duty calmly. Despite the document being just signed and reviewed for some details, Tranor takes it slow; went and review even the unnecessary detail.
The Captain bowed down, left hand on his chest, and closed his eyes.
The Captain: My apologies, Sir. I'll be waiting for your order, then, if you please, excuse me.
The Captain left, then Tranor looked at the spot where the Captain had just been standing, noticing that he had left.
Tranor then opened one of his desk drawers and took out a bag of gold coins. He then walked out and headed to a few of his buddies along the way, and some associates.
Tranor is on his way to a place where Women and drugs, bright light and dark spaces, for an escapism.
Marcus later arrived at a remote village as he was riding his horse with his retainer.
The town is quiet, the wind blows gently, and Marcus is riding his horse through the village.
As they go around, the retainer takes out the maps and shows that the mark for their destination is a small path. Marcus looks around, and he sees a small path leading to the forest.
Marcus then asked his retainer to hand him the maps. He stares at the path unease, his body heating up, as sweat drips from his chin. He then relaxes his body, rolls the maps, and put in to his clothes.
Lord Marcus: Come, we'll head straight ahead
As he heads straight, the forest is calm. the faith sound of the birth chirping, frog jumping infront of him, then the sound of a small river flowing mixed with the birth chirping, Marcus looked around
green moss covers the tree, then straight ahead a wide empty space, he then arrives at a castle, it's as tall as the 4 houses, wide and big as 5 rice fields
The walls are as tall as 7 adults and as thick as the height of an average male.
The stone has already lost its color from bright light yellow to dark white, losing its color, and cracks in the stone show its age; the gaps in the stone widen unevenly.
Marcus looks at the castle in silence as his gaze looks to the top of the castle, then the Retainer notices that the gate is moving slightly,
Then, a loud mechanical sound of a big gear moving in the background loudly, the horse jumps and panics, it screams, Marcus nearly loses his grip on the reins, and after he manages to calm the horse down.
Marcus was able to balance himself back,
The heavy gate then opened slowly,
Marcus and his retainer then move inside the castle. Marcus looks behind him, but there is no one.
Despite its greenery full of small plants growing between the stones, ivy covering the wall, and birds and other small animals running around, it looks quiet, too quiet, like a centipede crawling with hundreds of tiny legs on their back to their neck, Marcus shivering, and the retainer can feel his skin having goosebumps.
They then get off of their horse and walk toward the castle's entrance. Once they get there, the gate is gone due to how decay it is
The reteiner's eye widens, eyebrows raise,
The Retainer: The Castle entrance is enormous
Inside the castle, Marcus sees a statue of a man with thick armor designed specifically for a top-class warrior. The armor is beautifully designed with the pattern of roses.
His hand held high with a long, sharp sword, a flat behind the statue's back with 7 roses, and a sun in the middle of the flat as its symbol.
Then, further behind the statue is a bifurcated staircase
Marcus walks toward the statue. Marcus then looked up and touched the status. He then sees a small shining crystal on the statue's thighs. He attempts to climb the statue, but when he steps on its foundation, a small part of it suddenly cracks. Marcus stands back
The Retainer: My Lord, I believe this statue is somewhat familiar; it reminded me of the story you told me,
Lord Marcus: Yes, it's the exact same. Come, we keep moving. I can give you a little more detail.
Marcus and the retainer head to the left side of the bifurcated staircase to the upper floor. They enter another entrance and walk down a long hallway.
Lord Marcus: The status we just see is that of a few powerful warrior once served and swore their loyalty to the King of Gol Lag. Back then, this region was a massive territory for this kingdom,
The Retainer: Then what happened after,
Lord Marcus: Power struggle, and due to the king not having a son and only a daughter, other royal family members fight to get their son on the throne, and because of that, the country's economy crashes after a decade with no actual king or anyone at the top of the order
The Retainer: Oh, I remember that part; it came back to me now. My Lord
Lord Marcus: Yes, after that, the kingdom split into multiple factions and established their own nation, and we are the descendants of one of these factions, which later became known as the Kingdom of Limness
The Retainer: Now that is new, seriously, my lord, I learn new things from you every time we are chatting, now I am more convinced that you are the greatest historian that our country ever had.
Lord Marcus: You are flattering me. I do not consider myself as such. The reason I know this is due to my fascination and endless curiousity of our country's history
Then suddenly, a butler appeared in front of them, and the retainer took his position,
The Bulter bows down, his left hand on his chest.
The Butler: I apologize for being unable to greet you once you arrive at the gate
Marcus: I have your master's letter.
The Butler: Yes, come this way, My Lord
They follow the Bulter, then a big door appears out of nowhere. The bulter grabs the door handle and opens it, a shining light shining from the inside,
The retainer then walks a side and standing side by side with Marcus. Marcus then looked at the retainer. and grab the retainer's shoulder
Lord Marcus: No need to worry, He is someone I know for a long time now. wait here I be back shortly
The Retainer: If you say so, My Lord
The Bulter then steps inside, followed by Marcus. The Retain stands still, heart pounding as he sees Marcus slowly fading into the fading light from the room.
As Marcus kept on walking, the light became brighter and brighter. He then covered his eye with his hand, a few step later the light faded. Marcus opened his eyes and removed his hand.
Infront of him, he sees an elderly man lying on a black luxurious pillow, blanket, and a light, warm cloth.
infront of the bed, 4 luxurious chairs, and a table with a small flower pot on it, and on the left side of the elder man's bed is another small and tall table, as tall as the butler's waist,
on it a pot of tea and 3 expensive cups, a flower as a decoration
He bowed slightly, gesturing his hand toward the chair.
Marcus then walked forward toward the chair, the bulter then grabbed the chair and pulled it back for Marcus, he then sat down,
The Butler walks toward the tall table next to the bed and pours two cups of tea, one for Marcus and another for his master.
The elder man is still in deep sleep, the butler then walks to his master, taps the elder man gently multiple times, he then open his eyes slowly, his vision is blurry and unclear, struggles to open his eyes properly, he then closes his eyes again, puts some force on it, and the first thing he sees is Marcus sitting down, infront of him as his vision become clearer.
Sir. Basiman: Marcus,
Lord Marcus: Master, it lights my heart to see you still speaking ,like a 89-year-old young.
Sir. Basiman laughed lightly
Sir. Basiman: And good to see you doing well too. Young man
Lord Marcus smiled as his worry vanished.
Sir. Basiman: How is White doing?
Marcus: He is doing well. Before I left, He mention of want to purchase the Morbear Seam statue from one of your museums, but I tried to tell him that it won't be possible. Until now, he has still wanted me to talk to you, master.
Sir. Basiman: Hmmmm, (smile) The Morbear Seam statue is one of the greatest discoveries in my career, but I am starting to reach my time. I'll consider it if he still insist of attainting it.
Marcus: Brilliant news, master. I'll be sure to let him know.
Sir. Basiman: And also, a few months ago. I have been informed that Geithner's health is getting worse. How is he now?
Marcus's smile faded, his eyes relax then face softened.
Marcus: Unfortunately, my brother White, my wife, and Juvian himself, including the whole Royal Family, are expecting the worst outcome. Our country's one of the greatest generations is now about to leave us early
