I fell into eternal darkness.
After fighting to regain my senses, everything around me was white.
The space was split in half. The side I was in was the white space, while the other side was filled with an array of colors.
As I looked at the scene in front of me, it made my heart sink.
Zahid was sitting in the collapsed ruins of everything, and I could see myself in his arms. I looked like I was dead.
It was such a strange feeling to watch myself from someone else’s perspective, and I stared at myself vacantly before I slowly lifted my line of focus.
Zahid was crying. He sobbed as if his whole world had collapsed, tears flooding out until his eyes turned red. I had never imagined him in such a way. He had become such a wreck that it was making him cry like that…
“Aerta, please…”
The whisper of his voice made it sound like he was losing his last lifeline, and it made me come back to my senses once more. I was about to run to him right away.
