“Wait, so you’re going to the auction with His Grace? Just the two of you? Why? Is that really necessary?”
“J, just you and him?”
“Take me with you, Aerta!”
Upon mentioning my plans for the night at the dinner table, the three of them went bonkers.
I coaxed the two kids and one adolescent that protested with utter vehemence.
“I’m going to be hosting a charity auction, remember? He just wants to help me out with the preparations for that. And for you, Hirkan, I’ll take you with me when I’m headed off somewhere else.”
Cheryl and Ethan puffed their cheeks disapprovingly.

I let out a quiet chuckle at the sight of the three angry blowfish.
Despite my worries, the three of them seemed much closer than I had ever thought they would be.
“Pudding!”
“What kind? I like pudding.”
“I, it’s b, banana pudding.”
To my luck, the sight of pudding as dessert quieted down the protests.
