~Elsie's POV
I turned to him again, and this time, I could not hold back the smile that spread across my face.
"I am so glad that I can do this," I said, and there was something honest in my voice that I did not try to hide. "Thank you."
He looked at me for a second, then gave a small nod. He did not say much, but somehow, it did not feel empty. After a brief pause, he spoke again.
"You should expect some things tomorrow," he said.
I frowned slightly, not fully understanding.
"What kind of things?" I asked.
He did not go into details.
"You will see," he replied, then added, "and about the event… you do not have to attend if you do not feel like it."
I blinked, a little surprised by that. I had expected the opposite.
"I will be fine," I said softly. "I can attend."
He nodded once, like that settled it.
For a moment, we just sat there again, the quiet returning, but it did not feel as heavy as before. Then, I started pushing myself lightly.
