Chapter 52 - Ch 52: Quiet routine

The warmth in Leon's expression vanished. He feared those words more than anything.

**"I feel like I'm forgetting something..." **His heart tightened.

"What is it?"

Mira stared blankly into space for several long seconds. Then her eyes suddenly widened.

"Oh no."

"What? Tell me." The color drained from Leon's face.

She looked at him with complete seriousness. "The bodyguards."

"...What?"

"Why do I even need a dozen of them?"

For a moment, Leon simply stared at her. Then he let out a long, helpless sigh and was followed by quiet laughter.

Mira narrowed her eyes. Before he could react, she reached out and pinched both his ears.

"Ouch! Mira!"

She puffed her cheeks. "Tell me honestly. What are you planning to do with those twelve guards?"

"They're for your safety," Leon pleaded, trying to free himself. "Please... let go first."

She loosened her grip but continued glaring at him.

Rubbing his ears, Leon smiled helplessly. "Mira, just let them follow you. They won't disturb you."

"I'll only be at peace knowing you're safe."

Her expression softened. She knew his reasons and fears. He was simply worried.

"Hmm... Fine. But they have to keep their distance. They're not allowed to interfere with whatever I'm doing."

Leon nodded immediately. "I promise."

"And one more thing."

"Anything."

She pointed toward the window, where several men in black suits stood outside.

"Don't make them dress like they're in a James Bond movie. They stand out more than I do. A simple shirt and jeans are enough. Tell me... How else are they supposed to blend into a crowd?"

Leon chuckled. "Done."

Satisfied, Mira smiled and finally let the matter go.

From that day onward, a quiet routine settled in the exclusive 25th floor of Deskmore company.

Every morning, Mira would discover a new recipe and send homemade sweets or desserts to Leon's office. She would spend a little while with him, brightening the otherwise cold CEO floor with her endless chatter before wandering through nearby streets, bookstores, parks, or little cafés.

Always from a distance, unseen but ever watchful, Leon's security team followed.

When evening arrived and Leon returned home, Mira would already be waiting. She would excitedly tell him about her day and the places she visited.

Leon rarely spoke, he simply listened. To him, they became the best part of his day.

Watching Mira slowly rediscover the beauty in the ordinary made him realize that she is truly happy.

And without either of them realizing it, the empty spaces left behind by forgotten memories were quietly being filled with new ones.

He realized... it was finally time to talk about Mumu.
