Ray finally opened his mouth. His voice was flat, zero anger or fear in it.
"I didn't say shit to Kevin about you, Julia. And I don't give a fuck about your relationship. That's your guys' business."
Julia blew the fuck up. Her face, already caked in thick makeup, went even redder, veins bulging in her neck. She stepped forward until she was basically in Ray's apartment doorway.
"Don't fucking lie, Ray! Kevin suddenly said he wanted to break up with me right after he met you last night! He's never had the balls to pull that shit before! You must've said something or put some idea in his head!"
Ray just let out a long-ass sigh. His hand was still on the door handle, body half inside the apartment. He really didn't wanna get dragged into this mess.
"I just heard him venting 'cause he was drunk. I didn't tell him to dump you. I don't care about your drama."
