Ray shot straight up in bed, heart hammering like crazy. His eyes were still half-shut, but the second he focused, he realized that floating blue-green light in front of his face wasn't coming from his phone.
[Ding!]
The system panel popped up in bold letters:
[Host did not complete daily quest]
[System cannot be used for the next 24 hours]
Ray read it once. His face went bright red instantly.
"This is so fucking unfair! You never even told me there was a daily quest every day! What kind of bullshit rule is that you didn't warn me about from the start?! I thought this shit was just for fun, then suddenly you hit me with a punishment whenever the fuck you feel like it?!"
His voice got louder. He was already swiping at the panel left and right, trying to mess with it, but it didn't budge. No response. No sound. Nothing.
A few seconds later the whole thing just faded out and disappeared like it was never there.
"Oi?! Don't fucking disappear yet, asshole! Answer me first!"
