Chapter 97 - 97

"When did he..."

Snek's pupils contracted. He stared in shock at King, who had "teleported" in front of the Tanktop Puncher. What kind of speed was this? Who exactly was he? Could he be Flashy Flash, the S-Class hero known for his speed? No, that couldn't be right; Flashy Flash, that narcissistic pretty boy, would never appear in this kind of outfit.

The person in front of him definitely couldn't be Flashy Flash. So who exactly was this person? He possessed terrifying speed, yet his punch failed to elicit a reaction from the fighting robot. According to Child Emperor, "Bookworm's Glasses" would only fail if the target was too strong or too weak. He had previously thought this mysterious fellow was too weak, which led to the fighting robot not reacting. But judging from the terrifying speed just now, this guy was absolutely frighteningly strong. How could "Bookworm's Glasses" ignore his attack? Or was this person concealing his true strength, deliberately throwing a soft, weak punch to cause "Bookworm's Glasses" to fail?

"Such fast speed!"

Quick-Fist Hero watched King's retreating figure, dumbfounded and tongue-tied. Was this person a demon?

"Oh no! Uncle King is angry."

Child Emperor's heart sank, and an anxious look appeared on his small face. Although the Tanktop Puncher was extremely annoying, he was still an active Hero Association hero, and also someone Child Emperor had invited. If he died in his research lab, it would be very troublesome.

"Three scratch marks, the fighting robot didn't react, it must be that man. Dammit! I even cursed him, saying he was worse than a dog. I've provoked a terrifying individual, I'm dead..."

The Tanktop Puncher's eyes widened in horror, his face completely pale with terror. Subconsciously, he curled up into a ball, pushing himself hard against the iron cage, even trying to squeeze his buttocks through the bars as if he wanted to escape the cage.

King expressionlessly gazed down at the Tanktop Puncher, inwardly cursing the System. *Damn it, adding attributes like strength and defense is equivalent to equipping an invisible layer of armor. My physical condition hasn't changed at all. This means that from head to toe, I'm still that useless NEET!*

*Damn it!*

He frantically clenched his fists, lifted his foot, and kicked the terrified Tanktop Puncher into the air. His fists, like machine guns, mercilessly pounded the Tanktop Puncher's body. In an instant, he landed hundreds of punches on the Tanktop Puncher, completely treating him as a punching bag for practice.

"Should we step in and save him?"

Snek watched the Tanktop Puncher being beaten so miserably. Even though he knew Tanktop Puncher deserved it, as a hero, how could he just stand by and watch a human life end before his eyes? Besides, they were all in the same profession; it was only right and proper to lend a hand.

He took a deep breath, shifted his feet in a semicircle, and formed his hands into snake heads, adopting a pre-attack stance.

"Hmm, it looks like the opponent is very strong; we need to be careful."

Quick-Fist Hero looked at King with a grave expression, his body standing tall, muscles tensed. As a hero, he would never watch an innocent person lose their life, even if that innocent person was an annoying jerk.

"Let him go, or don't blame us for being rude."

Snek and Quick-Fist Hero looked at King coldly, their body muscles tensed, ready to attack at any moment.

Child Emperor was equally greatly alarmed. "Uncle King, please show mercy! No matter how annoying he is, he's still a Hero Association hero. If you kill him, it'll be very troublesome. Please spare his life!"

"King?"

Snek and Quick-Fist Hero's entire bodies stiffened. The serious expressions on their faces instantly froze. This... this mysterious guy was King?

Their faces were filled with disbelief, but upon careful thought, it suddenly made sense. Perhaps only King's punch could cause "Bookworm's Glasses" to fail.

Previously, they had thought King intentionally held back, causing the fighting robot to not react. But King had no reason to do that. To improve his reputation? Don't joke around, does King, reputed as the Strongest Man, still need to improve his reputation? King intentionally messing with everyone? Heh, the strongest man on the surface wouldn't have such a bizarre hobby.

"Gulp!"

The two of them simultaneously gulped. They had actually intended to attack King just now! What a ridiculous thought! Looking back now, it truly sent shivers down their spines. If they had attacked just now, King would have probably punched their heads off, right?!

Even more terrifying was that the power of King's punch had actually exceeded the upper limit of "Bookworm's Glasses'" measurement. Child Emperor had said before that even Superalloy Darkshine's attack could be measured by "Bookworm's Glasses." This meant that King's true strength was at least a significant cut above fellow S-Class hero Superalloy Darkshine. What a terrifying man!

"Is that man him?" The Hero Association staff member's eyes widened. He gasped, "That man... a man's idol, a woman's ideal partner, that terrifyingly strong man!"

"Hmm?" King paused, glancing sideways at Snek and Quick-Fist Hero, and asked in a faint voice, "Are you two... going to attack me?"

"Uh..."

Snek and Quick-Fist Hero felt as if someone had choked their necks, their faces full of frustration. What kind of international joke was this? How could they possibly have the guts to attack King?

In their haste, Snek coughed twice, "Cough, cough, actually, I... we just felt that a person like Tanktop Puncher isn't worth you laying a hand on. We can totally take care of it for you. To be honest, I've long wanted to beat up this annoying scumbag."

Quick-Fist Hero's eyes lit up, and he nodded repeatedly, "That's right, that's right! Lord King, please take a break and let us beat this guy up for you! I tell you, this scumbag has been mocking me all this time. I've endured him for a long time, wishing I could break his two dog legs. Now I truly can't stand it anymore. You stand aside, let me hit him a few times and vent!"

"That's right, that's right, Uncle King, you should calm down. It's not worth getting angry over this scumbag," Child Emperor said, forcefully pulling King aside and earnestly trying to persuade him.

King rolled his eyes inwardly, annoyed. He wasn't angry at Tanktop Puncher at all, but rather at that scumbag System. Unfortunately, the System was hiding inside his body, so hitting it was equivalent to hitting himself. He had no choice but to take out his anger on the unlucky Tanktop Puncher.

Of course, he himself couldn't beat Tanktop Puncher. His current speed was entirely thanks to the power of the three-star Monster Card, Rapid Dragon.

What was worth being happy about was that thanks to the Rapid Dragon Monster Card, he had successfully leveled up again.

"Help... help me, King, I..."

Tanktop Puncher wailed miserably, his nose bruised and face swollen.

"Help you with what? You just asked for it."

Snek saw that the idiot Tanktop Puncher was about to say something crazy again, so he immediately stepped forward and kicked him, cutting off the rest of Tanktop Puncher's sentence.

"Beat him up!"

Quick-Fist Hero rushed into the fray and fiercely punched Tanktop Puncher.

"Ah! Ah! Stop... stop hitting me..."

Tanktop Puncher cried out incessantly, sounding like a pig being slaughtered.

King coldly watched Snek and Quick-Fist Hero. He wasn't stupid; how could he not see their intentions? Pretending to help him beat someone was fake; saving Tanktop Puncher by beating him was real. However, he also had no intention of killing anyone, so he was too lazy to argue with their little scheme.
