Xiao Chen and his two friends stood at the entrance, watching Su Chen drive away.
"Brother Cheen, what's the deal with that kid? Is he some 'golden goose' the Xiao family found?" Jiangyang pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and offered one to Xiao Chen and Chen Yao.
Xiao Chen took the cigarette, stuck it in his mouth, and lit it. He watched the car's taillights disappear into the distance before shaking his head. "No. This time, we're genuinely making a friend. And don't you two get any funny ideas."
As he said this, he shot them a look, as if warning them.
Jiangyang and Chen Yao shared an awkward laugh. 'We know our own business,' they thought. They'd definitely had some ideas when they saw Su Chen's Rolls-Royce Cullinan, but Xiao Chen's words had just shattered them.
Still, they were curious about Su Chen. "Brother Cheen, where did this guy come from?" they asked. "From the looks of it, he doesn't seem to be from our circle."
