Chapter 87 - A Path Beyond Power

The barrage from the warship was devastating—but it wasn't flawless.

Even in that overwhelming storm of destruction, there were gaps.

Tiny openings within the curtain of fire.

And Peter—

Saw them.

With his full power unleashed, his telekinetic field expanded violently, carving out a vast safe zone amid the bombardment. The crushing force of his mind pushed outward, forcibly clearing a pocket of stillness in the chaos.

"Go!"

Tony and Hulk didn't hesitate.

They seized the opening immediately and began retreating at full speed.

"Get out of here—find Wanda!"

Quicksilver cast Peter one last look before vanishing into motion. Even for him, this battlefield was deadly. Speed meant nothing if he got caught in a wide-area blast. One misstep—just one—and the shockwave would send him flying, leaving no chance to recover.

But Peter had created an escape route.

And that was enough.

A silver blur streaked away.

Tony and Hulk followed, pushing themselves to the limit as they broke free from the heaviest bombardment.

Peter remained.

Alone.

Above him, the warship continued its relentless assault.

But now—

His telekinetic field began to shrink.

Condensing.

Focusing.

"…You want the Stones?"

Peter looked up at the sky, his eyes cold.

"Then I'll show you what they're really capable of."

It sounded confident.

Almost arrogant.

But the truth was—

He didn't actually know how to use them.

In his hands—

The scepter.

The Tesseract.

With a sudden burst of force, he crushed their outer shells.

Fragments shattered.

And from within—

Two radiant gems emerged.

The Mind Stone.

The Space Stone.

Peter tested them.

Carefully.

His consciousness extended inward, probing.

The Mind Stone responded.

His telekinesis—an evolution of mental power—allowed him to connect with it, to feel its vast, ocean-like consciousness.

But the Space Stone—

Remained silent.

Unresponsive.

Clearly—

He was using it wrong.

"…Fine."

Peter's grip tightened slightly.

"If I can't use you—"

"Then I'll sacrifice you."

Because he had something else.

Something far more powerful.

The Infinite Multiverse Altar System.

The moment the thought formed—

The world shifted.

In an instant, Peter's consciousness was drawn away, his body appearing at the center of a vast, ancient altar.

A presence descended.

Vast.

Unfathomable.

A will beyond comprehension.

"What… do you seek?"

The Space Stone rose from his hand, floating in the air.

Its energy surged wildly, waves of power rippling outward like an endless tide.

But Peter didn't hesitate.

Not for a second.

Outside—

His friends were still under bombardment.

Still fighting.

Still dying.

"I want a path."

His voice was steady.

"Power, wealth, companions, territory—I have those."

"What I lack…"

He lifted his gaze.

"Is a system of cultivation."

"A method."

"A path to truth."

He already had science.

Science was a road.

A grand one.

A highway leading toward the ultimate truths of the universe.

But—

Science required civilization.

Time.

Accumulation.

It wasn't something that could transform him—

Right now.

What he needed—

Was something else.

Something immediate.

Something personal.

"I want a path for individual transcendence," Peter said firmly.

"Whether it's unlocking the hidden potential of the human body… or mastering the balance of yin and yang…"

"Whether it's arcane magic… or elemental control…"

His voice grew sharper.

"There's only one goal."

"To transcend."

He was strong.

Unbelievably strong.

His telekinesis was among the most versatile and powerful abilities in existence.

His body had broken past its limiter, granting him limitless growth potential.

In terms of raw power—

He already stood at the peak.

But standing at the peak…

Didn't mean he could fly.

At his current trajectory, even at his absolute limit—

He would become nothing more than a stronger version of Saitama.

A being of overwhelming force.

But still—

Bound.

Bound to the world.

Bound to time.

Bound to existence itself.

He couldn't escape the cycle.

Couldn't step beyond.

Couldn't achieve true immortality.

Even if he lived as long as the universe—

The universe itself would eventually die.

So he needed another path.

A path that would grant him—

True transcendence.

"…As you wish."

The voice answered.

Calm.

Absolute.

In the next instant—

The Space Stone dimmed.

Its boundless energy vanished without a trace.

And then—

It disappeared.

But Peter didn't panic.

Because he could feel it.

Something—

Was coming.

A moment later—

A stream of consciousness surged into his mind.

Sacred syllables echoed.

Ancient truths unfolded.

Each word—

A revelation.

Each sound—

A transformation.

For a brief moment—

Peter felt as if he had returned to the womb.

Reborn.

The world—

Changed.

And then—

His eyes opened.

Light surged within them.

Every pore in his body seemed to open, as if something had awakened deep within him.

A cool, flowing energy descended from above, filling him with a sensation he had never experienced before.

The battlefield returned.

Explosions roared.

The sky burned.

The earth trembled.

But Peter—

Was calm.

Utterly calm.

At his feet—

Loki stared up at him, his expression filled with shock.

"You… what did you do…?"

Nothing about Peter's appearance had changed.

And yet—

Everything had changed.

In that single moment—

He had crossed a boundary.

Touched a realm—

That only gods could reach.
