Jayjay's POV
Our ride on the Ferris wheel eventually came to an end, and Keifer and I walked over to a nearby bench, sitting down to wait for the rest of the Section E squad to finish up at the haunted house. We didn't have to wait long. Suddenly, Ci-N, Felix, and Rory came sprinting toward us at full speed, with the rest of the group trailing closely behind them.
"Did you guys see that?!" Ci-N panted, skidding to a halt in front of us.
"See what?" I asked, looking at their frantic faces.
"The video!" Rory chimed in, trying to catch his breath.
Keifer raised an eyebrow, his protective instincts instantly putting him on alert. "Which video?"
"The video of the two of you!" Felix blurted out.
"Move aside, let me explain!" Percy yelled, shoving his way past them. He was just about to speak when Calix suddenly swooped in, pushed Percy out of the way, and thrust his phone directly into our faces.
On the screen was a collection of pictures and two videos of a couple riding a sports bike. I blinked hard, leaning closer to the screen. IT WAS US! How on earth did this happen?!
I eagerly tapped on the photos to get a better look. They were clear, candid shots of Keifer and me during our ride over here—specifically the moment when I had given up fighting the speed and just rested my face peacefully against his broad back. I scrolled through the screen and realized there weren't just one or two photos; there were dozens of pictures of us posted by multiple different accounts.
Keifer reached out and tapped the first video play button. It captured the exact moment when I wasn't holding onto him, and then he suddenly gunned the engine, forcing me to instinctively wrap my arms tightly around his waist.
Keifer and I exchanged a stunned look.
We then opened the second video. This one was a close-up from when we had arrived at the amusement park parking lot. It beautifully captured Keifer gently unclipping my helmet, lifting it off my head, and then using his hands to carefully brush and fix my messy hair.
Who the hell even took these pictures and videos?!
I quickly checked the captions. Even though the posts were scattered across completely different accounts belonging to absolute strangers, the captions were all variations of the same thing: "Cute couple goals," "The absolute best couple," and "Spotted the prettiest couple today." I looked up at Keifer, and he stared back at me, equally surprised. The comment sections under every single post were completely blowing up with thousands of replies.
"Keifer..." I whined, a sudden wave of panic hitting me. "Remove them all. Get all of them taken down right now!"
Keifer gave me a reassuring nod, shifting instantly into serious boss mode. He looked over at Edrix. "Edrix, scrub the internet. Remove every single one of them completely."
"On it," Edrix nodded, instantly pulling out his own device and turning to walk away.
"Wait," Keifer called out, stopping him in his tracks. "Before you delete them... send every single photo and video directly to my phone first."
Edrix let out a small smirk. "Alright, fine," he chuckled, picking up his pace as he ran off to get to work.
Freya walked over and slid onto the bench right beside me, a huge grin on her face. "Jayjay, you're literally viral right now."
"I don't want to be viral!" I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest.
Freya blinked, staring at me with a mixture of shock and sheer confusion. "Okay..." she muttered slowly, clearly not believing for a second that anyone wouldn't want to be internet famous.
"Man, I really should have taken a video of Jayjay's headbutt instead," Ci-N complained loudly, shaking his head.
The comment instantly caught Keifer's attention. He turned his head sharply toward us, raising a sharp eyebrow. "When exactly did that happen?" he asked, his tone dropping into a serious, questioning register.
I opened my mouth, about to explain the chaotic situation, but that little brat Ci-N completely beat me to it.
"We all went over to your house, right? And somehow, your dad's guards managed to sneak up and grab a hold of us," Ci-N explained rapidly, the words tumbling out of his mouth in one single, massive breath. "Then Aries completely lost it and punched the guy who was holding him down. And right at that exact moment, Jayjay threw her head backward with so much force that it landed directly on the guard's nose! His nose started bleeding instantly, and he scrambled away to hide somewhere. Seriously, what a total coward—running away from just one single headbutt!"
I don't know what exactly flickered through Keifer's mind, but he suddenly lunged forward and grabbed my head with both hands. He started turning my head left and right, carefully inspecting my scalp. Was he seriously checking me for lice right now?! If he was, he wasn't going to find a single thing because my head was perfectly clean!
Suddenly, his hands slid down to firmly grip my arms, forcing me to look him straight in the eye.
"Are you hurt?" he demanded, his voice laced with genuine concern.
"Are you stupid?!" I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "That happened a whole day ago, and no, I wasn't hurt!"
He stared at me intensely, his eyes scanning my face as if he were trying to find an answer to a hidden question.
"Okay, fine!" I whined, breaking under his intense gaze. "I have a tiny headache right now, but it's not from the headbutt!"
Right at that moment, the sound of someone giggling caught my attention. I snapped my head over to look at the squad. It was a complete disaster. Some of them were giggling behind their hands, some were chuckling softly, some were biting their lips aggressively to hold it in, and others were just straight-up laughing shamelessly right in our faces.
"A protective husband and a short-tempered wife," Felix teased loudly.
That was the breaking point. The entire group completely lost it, bursting into a roaring fit of laughter.
"Hoi! Hoi! Hoi!" I yelled, pointing a threatening finger at them. "Shut up right now, or I swear I will kick you so hard you'll fly straight to the moon!"
Instead of being intimidated, they all just laughed even harder at my empty threat.
"Look, Jayjay is blushing!" Ci-N cheered, pointing at me.
My eyes widened and I instinctively touched my burning cheeks. Wait, what am I doing?! I quickly looked away to hide my face, and that's when I noticed a teenage girl walking directly toward our bench, looking incredibly excited.
"Hi!" she piped up, staring at Keifer and me with wide eyes. "Are you two the same couple from that viral bike video?"
"Oh, sorry, no we aren't," I lied smoothly without breaking a sweat. "Those two are actually our identical twins. They already went home for the night."
The entire squad instantly stopped laughing, staring at me in absolute disbelief.
"Jay, don't lie to the poor girl," Mica muttered, shaking her head.
"I'm not lying!" I shot back, giving the squad a very heavy, pointed look.
Thankfully, they finally understood the assignment. Catching onto my vibe, the boys immediately stepped in and started aggressively convincing the girl that Keifer and I were definitely not the couple from the internet. Completely outnumbered and thoroughly confused, the girl nodded slowly, apologized, and walked away.
"Jayjay is still blushing!" Ci-N shouted the second she was out of earshot.
The entire circle started teasing me all over again, and this time, even Aries joined in on the fun, smirking at me. Desperate for an escape, I whipped my head in the opposite direction and spotted a glorious brightly lit vehicle parked near the path.
"ICE CREAM!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
The teasing stopped instantly as everyone blinked at me in shock. I looked back at them and flashed a sheepish smile, realizing I had probably been way too loud. But it worked! Without wasting another second, the entire Section E pack turned on their heels and stampeded toward the ice cream truck like a pack of hungry wolves.
I, however, stayed right where I was, melting into the bench.
"Don't you want any?" Keifer asked, looking down at me as he remained standing by my side.
I leaned my head back against the bench, looking up at him while making the absolute most innocent, cute, pouty face I could possibly muster. "I do want it... but I'm way too tired. My amazing hubby will buy it for me, right?"
Keifer stared at my puppy-dog eyes for a second, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. He gave a defeated nod and turned to walk over to the truck to get my treat.
I stood up from the bench and started pacing back and forth impatiently. I couldn't wait another second—my ice cream was calling to me! I looked over toward the truck to check on the progress, and I couldn't help but grin. Keifer was walking right up to the front, handing out terrifying death glares to every single member of Section E who dared to stand in his way.
He smoothly walked right up behind Percy, muttered something to Honey, and Honey instantly dragged a confused Percy out of the queue. Next, Keifer stood behind Aries. They exchanged a brief conversation, and Aries glanced over in my direction before willingly stepping aside. Just like that, Keifer made it to the very front of the line.
I immediately ran over to him, causing him to raise a curious eyebrow.
"I thought you were too tired to move?" he teased.
I nodded quickly, flashing him my widest, most innocent smile. "I was! But I just realized that one single ice cream won't be enough. So, bring as many as your wallet can handle."
Keifer smirked, his eyes glinting with amusement. "My wallet can buy the entire truck, Jay."
"True, but we have a whole army behind us," I pointed out, gesturing toward the chaotic crowd of Section E. "So, if possible, get three tubs of ice cream instead."
He nodded, and I happily marched back to sit on my bench. True to his word, Keifer returned a few minutes later carrying three whole tubs of ice cream and one single cone.
Suddenly, panic hit me. Oh no. My ice cream was going to completely melt before I could even finish the first tub! But then, a brilliant memory sparked in my mind. Aries' car had a mini electric fridge installed in the back!
"Can you please put my other two tubs in Aries' car fridge?" I asked Keifer pleadingly.
He let out a dramatic sigh but nodded anyway. He took the extra tubs, walked over to Aries to grab the keys, and headed off toward the parking lot. He had handed me the first tub before leaving, so I eagerly cracked it open and started digging in.
By the time Keifer walked back, he was casually eating his own ice cream cone. He sat down right beside me, and the two of us began to eat in comfortable silence. He finished his cone way before I could finish my tub, so I held it out, offering him some of mine. He looked at it for a second, then happily dug in with me. Thank goodness this idiot had managed to grab a disposable spoon from somewhere—though since there was only one, we had to take turns. First I'd take a spoonful, then he'd take a spoonful.
We were eating so peacefully. But let's be honest—you can never truly find peace when you are surrounded by twenty-three chaotic people.
The rest of the squad finally walked over, piling onto the neighboring benches. They all started devouring their treats, and any remaining silence instantly vanished. Ci-N was being an absolute menace, trying to snatch ice cream from everyone else. The moment he tried to steal a bite from Ella, Aries shot him a lethal glare, forcing Ci-N to immediately pivot and snatch Percy's ice cream instead. Honestly, I think we actually did buy out the whole truck, because none of the boys ate just one ice cream—they all had at least three or four!
Once the sugar rush settled down and everyone was just lounging on the benches talking, a sudden thought hit me.
"So, how exactly was your trip to the haunted house?" I asked curiously, leaning forward.
"Mayo is a total coward—he literally cried!" Felix exposed him instantly.
"Eren straight-up fainted!" Ci-N added, laughing.
"And your brother used me as a human shield against a ghost!" Honey huffed, shooting a sharp glare at Percy. Percy completely avoided her gaze, staring intensely at the ground while the rest of us burst out laughing.
Drew rubbed his shoulder against his ear, wincing slightly. "Aries punched one of the actors because the guy jumped too close to Ella. And Ella screamed so incredibly loud that my ears are honestly still ringing."
"Saki was completely emotionless the entire time," Calix remarked, turning to look at her in genuine disbelief. "How do you even do that?"
Saki just rolled her eyes at him, completely ignoring the question.
"Oh, and what about you, Calix?" Yuri chimed in, a mischievous grin on his face. "The second it turned pitch black, you hugged me tightly and cried out 'Baby!'... completely failing to realize that Mica was actually standing right behind you, laughing her head off."
Mica let out a soft chuckle at the memory, while Calix's face flushed bright red in sheer embarrassment.
"And Ci-N literally jumped onto David's back, screaming 'Grandpa David, save me!'" Kit laughed, and the whole benches erupted into loud giggles.
"Wait, what about Felix?" Mayo fired back, desperate to deflect the attention. "This idiot started doing random parkour off the walls when a ghost popped out, screaming like a little girl the entire time!"
"While everyone else was busy screaming and hiding," Josh added cheerfully, "a ghost actually tried to flirt with Freya. Edrix completely lost it and punched the guy straight in the face! His nose started bleeding instantly."
Edrix crossed his arms, glaring playfully at Josh. "Yeah, and you were literally talking to the ghosts as if they were your long-lost brothers."
I shook my head, completely amused. Knowing Josh, I fully believed he could easily become best friends with a bunch of haunted house ghosts.
"Okay, okay, that's enough!" I laughed, holding my hands up to stop the madness.
"No, it's not!" Ci-N protested loudly. "You know, the exact moment we walked through the front doors, a ghost popped out and Rakki shrieked like a tiny little girl!"
"No, it wasn't me! That was definitely you, Ci-N!" Rakki defended herself instantly.
"Yeah, Ci-N, it was definitely you," the rest of the squad chorused in unison.
Realizing he was losing the battle, Ci-N turned to me with puppy-dog eyes. "Jayjay, who do you believe?!"
I smirked at him playfully. "Them."
The entire group burst out into roaring laughter all over again, while Ci-N crossed his arms and slouched back, sulking like a rejected toddler.
"Oh, I totally forgot! Not only did Mayo cry, but Ci-N was also crying his eyes out while clinging to Rakki for dear life!" Felix exposed him, adding fuel to the fire.
We all burst out laughing at a completely defeated Ci-N. Right in the middle of our laughter, a massive, unstoppable yawn slipped out of my mouth. Keifer instantly noticed and turned his attention to me.
"Do you want to go home now?" he asked softly.
I shook my head quickly, stubborn as always. "No way, let's go somewhere and party!"
The mention of a party instantly re-energized the group, and everyone else began nodding, cheering, and shouting in agreement.
"To the nearest restaurant!" Ci-N yelled, immediately taking off at a sprint.
Like a pack of wild animals, the rest of the squad scrambled right behind him. I stood up from the bench, feeling a heavy wave of sleepiness pulling at me, but my mind was fully set on partying. I tightly grabbed Keifer's arm, and the two of us began walking at a normal pace toward the nearest restaurant.
When we finally reached the place and walked inside, the very first thing I noticed was that they served alcohol at the counter. We walked over to a massive table and piled into our seats. Before anyone could even look at a menu, I shot a fierce, warning glare at the entire Section E squad.
"None of you are drinking tonight," I commanded, slamming my hand firmly onto the table to get their attention. "And if I find out that a single one of you touched a drop of alcohol... my foot will meet your butts!"
Every single boy in the squad audibly swallowed in fear.
"Yes, mommy," Ci-N chirped submissively, only to be immediately smacked across the back of the head by Calix, who was sitting right next to him.
As everyone settled down and started chatting loudly about random topics, I stood up and walked over to the front counter. Seriously, why did this restaurant look so much like a shady bar? I flagged down the bartender and ordered a mixed fruit juice. The waiter looked a bit surprised but handed me a glass. Because I was completely parched from talking and laughing so much, I practically inhaled the drink in one single breath.
Still thirsty, I pointed to the menu again. "Can I get one more? But this time, make it a mango and banana blend."
The waiter looked completely confused by my order, but he just shrugged and gave in, stepping away to prepare it. While waiting, I turned around to look back at our table. The Section E squad was a beautiful mess of laughter, shouting, and friendly teasing. Watching them, a warm feeling bloomed in my chest. I really hope everything stays just like this in our lives forever. I turned back around to the counter and noticed three identical glasses sitting on the tray in front of me. Even the brightly colored liquids inside them looked exactly the same. Assuming the waiter had just prepared a few different batches of fresh juices, I casually picked up the middle glass. This time, I took my time, sipping the refreshing drink slowly as I walked back to the group.
I squeezed myself back into the crowded table, sliding right into my spot beside Keifer. But the moment I sat down, a sudden, heavy wave of dizziness hit me out of nowhere. My head felt completely fuzzy. Feeling off-balance, I instinctively grabbed Keifer's strong arm and rested my cheek flat against his sleeve.
Keifer immediately leaned down, his eyes narrowing in suspicion as he caught a whiff of my breath. "Jayjay... are you drunk?" he whispered frantically in my ear.
"I don't know..." I mumbled, my voice slurring just a tiny bit. "I just drank that fruit juice from the counter..."
Keifer let out a low sigh, instantly realizing what had happened. He gave me a gentle nod, wrapping his arm around me to hold me steady. I just stayed like that, my heavy face resting completely on his arm. Slowly, the loud chatter of the restaurant began to fade away, and I completely drifted off to sleep, using my husband as a pillow while listening to the background noise of Ci-N's absolute nonsense.
