Chapter 22 - ~ Corvus Pollux Black

~ Sorry for the late chapter. Had to make a police report about a package that was stolen from my grandmother. Someone literally stole her glucose monitoring sensors from her porch, who does that. I mean, they probably didn't know what was inside the package, but still it was a dickish thing to do. Luckily her insurance is going to replace the sensors without charging her so that is the upside at least. Anyway, I wasn't able to finish writing this chapter before Friday because of the whole theft situation and having to make a police report, which is only done online for some reason. Which I found to be odd. But whatever, it's been taken care of. Hope you enjoy the chapter.

~ Shadow Copy One - POV ~

~ 12 Grimmauld Place ~

Transitioning into my astral form, I bypass all the magic ward's set up around Grimmauld Place, which were alot. I guess the House of Black isn't a pure-blood noble family for nothing. The ward's, while mostly dark in nature, are extensive and ancient. Worthy of my new home.

Honestly though, if it weren't for the knowledge I gained from Grindelwald when I recruited him, I would not have been able to recognize half of the ward's set up in and around Grimmauld Place. His knowledge of the "Dark" magic arts is truly extraordinary.

But I digress, I can appreciate the scale of his knowledge and these ward's anytime. Right now I have a dying body to take over.

Corvus Black was easy to find with my senses and it helps that he is one of only three souls living in this townhouse/manor. The other two being the house elf Kreature and the matriarch of the Black family, Walburga Black.

It appears that my timing is fortuitous, as from my senses Corvus is just on the cusp of dying. Certainly not right at this moment, but dying nonetheless. I would estimate that he would have died sometime after new years, possibly sometime during the first two weeks of January 1984. Luckily for him his name and soul well go on, even if I am the one who well subsume and live as him from now on.

Before that though, while still in my astral form, I need to take of Walburga Black. I can't have her around me pushing her fanatic obsession with pure-blood ethics on to me like she did to Sirius and Regulus. One who she pushed away, which ended up being a good thing, and the other joining up with Voldemort and getting himself killed and turned into an Inferni, a undead creature.

Not that I hold any hate for actually pure-blood traditional practices. As they are some of the purest forms of magic in this world like; the Solstice and Equinox-the four solar festivals celebrating the changing of the seasons-; or other ritual festival's like Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane, and Lughnasadh, where rituals focus on attunement to nature and elemental harmony.

But when those pure-blood ideals are twisted in congester to Voldemorts movement, they become less about upholding ancient traditions and becomes all about hoarding power and shunning half-bloods and muggle-borns.

So, Walburga Black has to die, before I take over as Corvus Black, or at least be on the precipice of death as Corvus is now.

Like most mothers who has a sick child, Walburga was at Corvus' bedside, watching over him. Which would've been something that would have made me hesitate if she was not at the moment brawling on about pure-bloods superiority and hate for everyone else. The woman is truly insane. Her youngest is dying and she is preaching at his deathbed about being a true pure-blood scion of the House of Black.

Spilling her hate-filled vitriol into Corvus while he is laying on his bed slowly dying to Dragonpox. Any hesitation I had for her death evaporated quickly.

Still in my astral form, I used a sliver of my reality warping to create a small pocket of air in her bloodstream. The air bubble, also known as an air embolism, is large enough that it'll bypass the lungs and create a block of the pulmonary blood vessel or go straight to the heart. This will be enough for her to die, but not right at this moment. She'll later have trouble as her breathing gets shallower, have chest pain and irregular heart beats. At the end, which should be later tonight or the early morning, the air in her system will create a block of the blood to her brain stem, causing a fatal, massive stroke.

Some may say it's a violent way to kill her but it is what it is. Better this than me taking over as Corvus and killing her as her blood. I honestly don't care as these people and their pure-blood ideals remind me to much of neo-nazism. Nothing is worse than the idea that you are somehow better than someone else just because of something like your skin tone. And that what skin color is, tone, white or black it's just tonality. Foolish beliefs that have been taken to extremes. Of course there are other reasons for all the hate, but they are inconsequential when you start using skin tones to discriminate your fellow human beings.

'I'm ranting alot about humanities shortcomings since I've turned into something other. I should probably make sure that I don't use it as a excuse to cause mass murder or something along those lines when I'm in a position of power. Even if their stupidity gets on my nerves.' I thought to myself as I watched Walburga finish her sermon on her bigotry of non-pure-bloods and their being lesser creatures and getting up to turn in for the night.

After creating those air bubbles and catching the end of Walburgas' hateful preaching, I waited for her to leave before entering my new body.

Corvus Pollux Black is a handsome boy. He has the dark wavy hair and gray eyes that is prominent in the House of Black. His features reminds me a little of Timothy Charlemagne, which will change slowly afterwards when I take over. He'll start to look more like my main body as he ages. The changes come with my soul taking over the body.

Like Mahito's, from Jujutsu Kaisen, cursed technique -Idle Transfiguration- demonstrates, the shape of the metaphysical soul can change the appearance of the material body. And my soul, even as an sliver of my original, is far more powerful than Corvus' soul. So the moment I devoure and assimilate his soul his body well change to represent my own.

Not only well this make the soul and body my own, but it well make his natural ability as a wizard more powerful. While I'm at it, I'll also unlock his Metamorphmagus ability that is dormant within his DNA, which has been blocked by excluding new magical blood in the family. That is why Nymphadora Tonks is able to inherit the Black family Metamorphmagus ability, her mother Andromeda Tonks neè Black married a Muggleborn wizard, Ted Tonks, thereby injecting new magical blood into the stagnant Black family bloodline. In my case I'm just cheating by bending reality to suit my needs and wants.
