"What are you saying, Theresa?" Lawrence's voice was filled with disbelief as he took a quick step toward me.
His brows were furrowed deeply, and concern flashed across his face.
Before I could react, he reached for my hands, wrapping his fingers around them as though trying to stop me from making a mistake.
As though he hoped that if he could just get me to look at him, I would change my mind.
But I couldn't.
I didn't even meet his gaze, as my eyes remained fixed ahead. There were too many emotions swirling inside me already, too much frustration and too much pressure.
The triplets deserved an explanation, and they would get one later but not now. Right now, there was a bigger problem standing in front of me.
