Chapter 53 - Gojo Satoru Vs Yuuto Kiba

A/N: Honestly, I was just expecting to give Satoru a simple reward after this quest, but two readers brought out their own suggestions—Issei or Valis' sacred gear, yeah, the Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing.

And honestly, I prefer dragon wings to oversized gauntlet (Fashion is best for aura farming), but since readers are king, I decided to bring it up.

Should I give Satoru the Boosted Gear or Divine Dividing?

High School DxD.

The next day, Rias, Satoru, and the others entered a glowing teleportation circle with the Gremory crest, and with a swoosh, they vanished.

At a massive estate in the midst of trees and rocky mountains, a Gremory teleportation circle materialized inside the estate, and the group of six appeared.

"We're here," Rias said as she turned to the five. "This estate belongs to the Gremory family and is the place we'll be training for the next ten days."

While Asia turned around, staring at the estate in awe, Akeno walked towards the kitchen, and Kiba approached Satoru.

As if reading his mind, Satoru shook his head and said, "Let's eat first. I won't hold back; it's better you have the strength to endure."

Kiba paused before he gave a nod.

After having a simple meal, Rias led the five to the training ground in the estate.

Stepping on the circular platform—the training ground—Satoru stared at Kiba, who held a wooden sword.

"I heard you have a sacred gear that can create swords?" he said. "Use a real sword."

Kiba's eyes widened slightly. "Are you sure?"

"Don't worry; no matter what, you can't touch me," Satoru said.

Kiba turned and looked at Rias, and it was only after seeing her nod that he discarded the wooden sword. A sword slowly materialized in his hand, and he pointed it at Satoru.

"Here I come!" Kiba said as he kicked the ground, becoming a blur that charged at Satoru.

Swoosh!

Satoru dodged the slash from Kiba and struck out with a punch to the gut.

"Ugh…!" Kiba coughed as he staggered back, but Satoru wasn't through. His legs lashed out, striking Kiba on the chest and sending him out of the ring.

"Again," Satoru said, and Kiba weakly stood up and climbed into the ring. Though he was dusty and his hair messy, he still stood like a tiger about to pounce on its prey, his eyes sharply staring at Satoru.

Seeing his state, Satoru smiled.

"Good. I thought you'd feel despair after this exchange," he said and vanished.

'Fast!' Kiba's eyes widened as he hurriedly placed his sword over his chest, just in time for Satoru to materialize in front of him and throw a punch. But the next second, a hint of slyness flashed through his eyes as his other fist struck, hitting the unprepared Kiba straight on the chin and sending him flying out of the ring… again.

"Again." This time it was Kiba who said the word as he got into the ring again with a swollen cheek—

Boom!

—and again, he was sent flying out of the ring in under 10 seconds.

Though both Kiba and Satoru were using only their physical bodies without any sort of energy, Satoru—tempered by intense training since childhood, cursed energy, and chakra, together with his Six Eyes and sixth sense—was an absolute monster in human skin. If he were to fight Yuki Tsukumo like he did before, he was certain overpowering her in under a minute would be possible.

Asia stared at the training between Satoru and Kiba—practically a one-sided beatdown—in silence, then she turned to Rias.

"Buchou… is this really alright?" Asia asked with concern. Kiba by now had already accumulated multiple wounds, though they were all shallow.

Rias smiled. "Only through a fierce battle can a devil grow."

She turned and looked at her peerage members. "You guys should get ready too. You're next."

Asia: "Eh!?"

Kiba flew through the air and fell outside the ring on his back. This time he didn't stand up, instead lying there, too tired and pained to move.

Satoru walked over and crouched at the edge of the ring, staring at Kiba.

"You're already strong. Sharp instinct and reaction; you just need a little tempering and you'll be good to go," he said.

"Thanks," Kiba said, both for the training and the advice. Though it was little, Kiba felt like he had become stronger in his reaction and instinct.

Satoru stood up and walked to the center of the ring, turning to stare at Rias and her peerage members with a bright, sunny smile.

"Who's next?"

"I'll go," Koneko said, already walking forward.

As she stepped into the ring, Satoru asked a question.

"I've heard from Rias that you've learned how to utilize chakra?"

"Mhm," Koneko gave a nod.

Satoru got into a martial arts stance—legs apart, one hand at his waist and the other placed in front. His chakra boiled inside him, and the ground beneath him developed spiderweb cracks.

"I'll now teach you a chakra strengthening technique—the advanced one."
