Chapter 71 - Chapter 71 After the System Fell

Silence.

Not ordinary silence.

The kind that felt heavy.

For the first time since they entered the facility, the Dominion laboratory was truly quiet.

No machines.

No alarms.

No voices telling them what would happen next.

Only breathing.

And the slow blinking of the emergency red lights.

A Victory That Didn't Feel Like One

Farhan stared at his laptop screen for a long moment.

"...The system is down."

There was no relief in his voice.

Only disbelief.

Lila nodded slowly.

"There's no control signal left."

"...They really lost everything."

Bimo slid down against the wall and let out a long breath.

"...Finally."

A pause.

"...I'm still alive."

A few small laughs escaped the group.

Brief.

Weak.

Then they faded.

Because everyone felt the same thing.

This didn't feel like victory.

What Remained

In the corridor, dozens of golden-eyed teenagers stood motionless.

They weren't attacking.

They weren't moving.

They simply didn't know what to do.

Rani stepped closer.

Carefully.

"...Are they okay?"

Kai stood beside her, looking at them one by one.

"...They were like me."

A pause.

"...They woke up without knowing who they were."

The words fell softly.

But their weight lingered in the air.

A Question No One Could Answer

One of the teenagers took a hesitant step forward.

"Dominion..."

"...is gone?"

Kai nodded.

"You're free."

Silence.

The teenager looked down at his own hands.

Then asked quietly,

"...Free for what?"

No one answered.

Because for the first time—

there was no enemy.

And somehow,

that was harder.

The Emptiness After War

Sinta took a deep breath.

"We're getting them out of here."

"This place isn't safe."

Pak Rahmat nodded.

"We'll find shelter."

Farhan added,

"And make sure they never become targets again."

Kai looked at all of them.

His eyes were no longer empty.

"They aren't weapons."

"...They're just kids."

This time, nobody made a joke.

What They Didn't Realize

Back in the control room, the rear door stood open.

Empty.

Pak Rahmat glanced at it.

"...He's gone."

Bimo sighed.

"Of course he is."

Sinta never looked away.

"People like him..."

"...never truly lose."

Everyone knew she was right.

A Change No One Could Explain

Arga remained standing before the dead server core.

Silent.

As if part of him was still trapped in the battle.

He opened the MBG box.

Ten rice grains glowed softly.

Then—

another light appeared.

Smaller.

But somehow deeper.

Farhan noticed it immediately.

"...Eleven."

Lila stared at it.

"The energy changed again."

Bimo tried to smile.

"...Seriously?"

"...Do you ever get tired of getting stronger?"

But Arga didn't laugh.

Something Different

He stared at the new light.

And felt it.

Not power.

Not a surge.

But something growing.

Slowly.

Deep inside.

Kai stood beside him.

"...That's different."

Arga closed the box.

"Because it wasn't created."

He looked around the room.

"It's alive."

A Deceptive Calm

For a moment, everything felt over.

No danger.

No threats.

Only silence.

Yet somehow—

that was exactly what felt wrong.

Somewhere Else

A black car moved through the darkness.

Smooth.

Steady.

As if nothing had happened.

Inside, the Dominion Leader sat quietly.

A small screen glowed in his hand.

The final recording.

Arga.

Kai.

And the moment the system collapsed.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"The first experiment..."

A pause.

"...was a success."

The man in the hat turned toward him.

"A success?"

"Didn't we lose?"

The answer came calmly.

Cold.

"We lost nothing."

He enlarged the data.

Arga's energy.

Kai's energy.

Synchronization.

Evolution.

"We learned."

The Disturbing Truth

He looked out the window at the city lights.

"The Nutrition Energy..."

"...can evolve on its own."

His eyes narrowed.

"...And that means..."

A pause.

"...there is no limit."

The screen went dark.

Back at the Laboratory

The children slowly began to move.

Cautious.

Uncertain.

But alive.

The Nutrition Guardians stood among them.

Not as fighters.

But as protectors.

Arga tightened his grip on the MBG box.

Eleven rice grains pulsed softly.

Warm.

Yet heavy.

He looked down at his own hand.

And for the first time—

he wasn't afraid of losing.

He was afraid...

that this power might someday become something

even he could no longer control.
